As far as I know, Sony hasn't received any reports of death phones due to the software issue of 350fw with the new 434fw

That is good news.
Can not wait for 4.2.x to release, did download krab his 434 NL FTF file just incase I get software problems.
Kind regards, Stefan.
But since the update after my nightmare began, First, ROOT many times without success (this is my problem), to complete the ROOT, try to go and get LINK2SD, but every time you create a EXT2 restartafter will not be able to enter, just kept restart, need to be removed the SDCARD, Anyway, if sdcard including not turn on, and subsequently I leave a message in the official website, and they told me to try a factory reset and clear memoryeverything, I have tried, but resolves containing the sdcard normal boot, but often a memory file something will restart to now, I have not yet been solved, I am thinking how to completely cleanpainted on the software, who can teach me how to clean, I also tried FLASHTOOL, but I try many time, it just is hold on at flash strat point, then over 30mins , is still....... i very bad lucky

yes like your phone died with the 434 update ?
there seem to be quite some reports of a damaged kernel version with this update that uses a lot of cpu in standby and damages it through heat.
Updated the phone a few days ago, powered it off today and it did not boot. Now its in repair

Sleep of death is still present in .434 Phone was fine for a week after updating, but the problem has happened once a day for the past 3 days. Wake up in the morning to a dead phone. Able to perform a reset with power + volume up.
Not happy, where's this fix we were promised! Sony never said .434 was to fix SOD, it was all stupid rumors.

i had the exact same probleme with my asus transformer pad for 5 months and asus delivered several updates promising to fix the probem, but it did not work, this happened with android ics 4.0.3.
after half a year they managed to fix it.
so until it's not completely dead, just wait for a working update.

which one! I asked if you repaired or restored a backup.....
If you repair the phone it should be exactly like a factory shipped phone.
My only other thing to say will be have you got anything in your sd card (Both internal or external) that may be causing this? Any init.d scripts that reduce voltage etc...try deleting the contents of the sdcards and repairing again. (Obviously back anything up you want to keep)

i did repaired twice from PC companion and did once i think from the phone itself, and i don't have Scards its only the phone internal storge..
when i did it first in flash tool it didn't give me any error and then i did repaired it twice from pc companion however whats strange in ICS i never had the reboot problem
and if i remember correctly it only delete the programs etc, but the photos/music etc it never left the phone with both options i did...
so you suggesting to also wipe internal storage and repair to see if it reboot or not? i already have back up for all stuff so it won't hurt to try
thanks alot really for helping and sorry for my bad english ^^;
If you have a backup then try it.
Have you got a bootloop or do you have some reboots? What i mean is, does the phone actually boot up and only reboot occasionally or is it just bootlooping?

How this end up? Anyone has find a solution for this problem? I have xperia t with same problem. The phone mostly freezes and restarts on long listings like fb/twitter feeds, messages...
i have TX same on my device freeze and some times don't wakeup only when battery pulled out
Hi,
I bought Xperia Z a week ago and there was update available, I tried to update it, but the phone stuck in boot loop, I solved this via Sony Update Service. So there is new and actual software. It works fine, until the first charge, the charging was ok, but after unplugging I tried to resolve lock gesture, but it stuck and restarts, the restart repeat several times. And after every charging, there are frome three to five restarts and then the phone is available to using.
Unfortunately, the Backup and restore app is not working, it stuck at 8% and then the phone restarts. So I decided to use SUS again, but it doesn't helped. The restarts are still there, no matter if original or non-original charger, so there is no connection to used/downloaded apps.
Is there any help to this issue?
I don't rooted the phone, but the phone is bought as used from credible store.
Thanx for answers
FW: 10.1.1.A.1.253
I'd suggest to restore the phone to factory default and return it to the store. It could be a hardware issue, that the phone receives a to high voltage when removing it from the charger.

bump
when I charge the phone to 80%, not full, and then unplug, the phone doesn't restart
Something defiantly seems off. It should not restart. Loke other suggestion it try a factory reset, if that doesn't work u might need to contact Sony for exchange or repair.

try option 2 if option 1 fails
option 1: Repair through Sony Update Service followed by a Factory Reset under settings > backup & resets. (Internal Wipe)
option 2: Flash another FTF file
but then again, it seems like a hardware issue. Suggest you get an exchange if its still under warranty or whatever.

1 - how to repare through SUS? when I connect phone to SUS it show me only the option to re-update phone and it delete all files, so after that is wipe necessary too?
2 - where to get FTF file?

if you bought the phone just a week ago, then why dont you ask your phone-company to resolve the issue. Phone-company is your retailer and from where you purchased the phone.
Why to take risks at your side....

op 1- when it says that your phone is up to date there should but a blue line of words saying something repair your phone if you are having issues, just click on that.
op 2- android development section and some in the general section too.
like i said if you seriously dont want to go through all that hassle just take it back to the shop and ask for a new one and show them that youre pissed off and demand for an exchange or something. Show them how it restarts lol.

thanx for answers guys
LitoNi - so the op1 helped, the problem was in micro SD card, after repair the SD card is dead, but the phone is working well, no restart since the repair (three days), even the connection between phone and linux (MTP) is ok and I can move with files...thanx
Please help me guys, I have no one else to turn to. My parents are gonna kill me if they find out what I did to my phone.
So my phone accidentally fell at school with the bluetooth still on.So I put the battery pack, power it on, but then it started to go on a boot loop i.e.
Sony logo-->Xperia Logo-->color animation-->black screen. But after 3-4 hours, it managed to do a complete boot! But I noticed that the bluetooth wasnt turning on. So stupid me, I restarted the device, then it started to go on a boot loop again. I got home and I tried it a couple of times more with the power and volume rocker combinations... didnt work either.
I even started using pc companion. didnt work (kept on doing the same thing
SUS --> same thing
NOW: I tried it using a different computer so I went to an internet shop and downloaded pcc and sus. I started pc companion... but halfway through the download... MY PHONE RAN OUT OF BATTERY and didnt finish the update. :'( Now, whenever I'm booting the phone, I only get the Sony logo and A TRIANGLE WITH AN EXCLAMATION MARK AND A PHONE UNDERNEATH.....
PLEASE HELP ME! My Phone is a Sony Xperia TX Lt29
Last Version before the crash: JB 4.1.2

please... please. i dont know what to do. thank you in advance to anyone who can help me
calm down.
Charge the phone until it is fully charged.
Download PCCompanion and do a fresh install of it.
Run PCCompanion and choose software update.
Use the option to repair your phone, then follow the instructions.
Let us know how you get on
PS
This will only do a software repair, if something broke because you dropped it (Which it sounds like) you are going to have to come clean and tell your parents to get it fixed.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR REPLY!!! really thank you :'(
I already did something with the phone because I've been doing a lot of searching on the net lately...
I reinstalled the software using Sony Update Service (SUS) and it booted normally! (but sadly it was only during the FIRST BOOT UP) when I turned off the phone to re insert the sim card and micro sd, It started doing it again... but then, after 6 or 7 tries, it managed to skip past the sony logo-->xperia--> logo-->color animation? and do another complete boot
Now I decided to go to settings and do a complete factory reset cause I thought it would fix everything... but it didn't. It started doing the same thing, and I had to give it 10 or 12 tries before eventually booting up again. When it booted up normally, I was even able to play music with it and change the settings like brightness, volumes, equalizers, and even arrange widgets!
SITUATION NOW:I turn on the Wi-fi and it's in a boot loop again and I'm charging the phone up to 100%
(i did the vol.up vol down power combination before charging)
gregbradley, is it because of our slow internet connection??? (it took me like 4 nerve racking hours to finish the update) but sus was able to complete the download and install the software... what the f*ck is wrong with my phone (((( ohgod
AND:
I'll follow your instructions when the charge is complete...... and I'll be back to you with the results.God I hope this works.Thank you again.
Have you tried only partially flashing part of an ftf file. I know when my phone was on the brink of death I discovered that if I only flashed part of an ftf using flashtool that it would work. I think I would check everything that has exclude (ie: Exclude System) and it would work for me. Its not the end of the world though as the phone does work. Just a bootloop. If you can get it into flash mode then just exclude everything except System, Kernel, and baseband if I'm not mistaken.

um... to tell you the truth, I have no idea how to partially flash a tft file, let alone flashing. O_O (see how noob i am?) its saddening. So am I in the point right now where my phone's problem is unsolvable via pc companion or sony update service??? Plus I've been doing some searching here on xda and I saw this thread about xperia TX users updating to version b 167 and that their bootloaders are now locked.
This is what my phone is exactly doing whenever I try to boot it up:
Sony Logo---->Xperia Logo----> Color waves animation?---> FREEZE-->black screen then the Sony Logo again.
Whenever I try to boot up for the 2nd time this happens:
Sony Logo----> Black Screen---> Phone turns off---> Sony Logo again
(((
You have flashtool yes? If you load up like you're going to flash a ftf file. Once you click to load up the ftf file it'll pull a menu where you pick what you want to flash. On the right side of flashtool that's where the exclude part is. That's where you have to check the *exclude option. The same thing happened to me when I accidentally flashed a T cm10 rom on my phone. I had to partially flash a ftf file to get it to boot. It should work but since you're not familiar with flashtool its going to make it a bit harder for you in the end. :/

just let it plug in with the charger and keep your phone on for day, usually that will fix it after a few hours with that logo running
Use a battery charger, charge for at least half the entire batt and then follow the thread on flashing, download some files while charging to minimize downtime

Hey guys...... ))))
First and foremost, thank you for all your replies.. really helped me a lot (
It's okay now guys! '^^ I re installed the software via Sony Update Service and it worked. At first I thought the phone was a goner cause it didn't manage to do a complete boot right after the installation. (Phone was stuck on the Sony Logo) But then the next morning, I tried it again and it worked!!
BUT: What I fear now is that the phone might suddenly crash again if I turn on the WI-FI (just like what happened in my previous attempts) If the phone crashes, I fear that the phone would start going on a boot loop again. So basically, I'm just using the phone for media purposes only i.e. Walkman, Gallery,Camera, Movies.
Any thoughts on this, cool, awesome people of xda? '^^ (cant update my apps and google now f*ck)
just.. sad. I miss Flipboard,Modern Combat 4, My Daddy Was a Thief, Real Racing 3, DEAD SPACE (((
one question...
Did something broke inside my phone when it fell?? If yes... WHAT EXACTLY IS IT?? why is it behaving this way??? Why does it keep on boot looping??? should I go and let an expert open it????

So my phone's not yet fixed since the 25th of December due to sudden death - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2585068
We had it checked again last Thursday, January 3rd. The technician said that the replacement of motherboard is not yet clear to be the best solution as the technicians from the Sony Service Center hadn't opened the phone yet. He said that it might have been a cause of a dead or death boot. Has anyone heard of it? He says not only Sony phones are experiencing this dead or death booth, even other brands. Kind of random. He said that the phone somewhat hangs, the screen isn't on but the system is still running which causes the phone to become warm or hot. And he also said that this lead to the battery getting totally drained. As per him, once the battery is totally drained it won't get charged even if I try to charge the phone for a number of hours. So what he will do when I get back to him on Monday is he will first try to shock the battery to see if it will be revived (which I hope this is just the case) and then dload some firmwares or softwares to fix the unit.
I hope this ordeal will be solved this following week as it's been so inconvenient on my part and I terribly miss my phone.
One of possibility is that they will open the back cover, pull out the battery and charge it to full, then they put it back and flash the stock firmware. With battery charged they have enough time for flashing and the phone should turn on. If it's Sony Center to do that they will also seal the phone as original to get fully working waterproof.

I really, really, really hope it'd work. For the waterproofing it would be fine to take it to the Sony service centre just to have the full waterproofness back.:good:

Hey guys, do the devs a favour: NOT EVERY SIMPLE BOOTLOOP IS A BRICKED DEVICE!!!
Just go to recovery and wipe everything, it then should boot without problems.
if it doesn't, first check yourself (e.g. did you flash a 4.4 kitkat without flashing a new kernel for it?)
the answers for nearly all problems are here on xda-developers ... just read, read and read and understand ... if you don't know, what you do with flashing your device, what the partitions data / cache / system are for, what a kernel is or what the differences between stock roms, custom rom releases and nightly builds is, you simply SHOULD NOT flash your device.
If you understand what you are doing and if THAT ALL doesn't help you and you think you have a problem noone else have (i allready had such a thing with my defy+, it got bootloop and it was a dead memory chip) THEN (and just then) post your problem here. The devs simply don't have the time to help everyone who simply can't read the existing threads.
Thanks (and dont get angry on me, just saying so you can do it better the next time)

Thanks, you just said what I wanted to say.
I have a weird problem since Android 9 update. Every now and then when i restart the phone, it either gets stuck on "restarting" or restarts until "Sony" appears on the screen and keeps restarting. The only way to fix this would be to use the Xperia Companion.
I had bought the Phone on Amazon Germany in July 2018. I sent the phone back to them and they returned it claiming they have "Repaired it" but the problem is back again. Is there anyway it could be fixed or am i stuck with this gorgeous little brick forever?
I have had this issue direct after upgrade: Solution was a factory reset (Hold power and Volume up(or down?) several seconds till the phone vibrates some times...

If it's still within warranty, send it back, again.
You should be familliar with the proccess by now.
Some technicians are lazy and because they can't see what the probelem is when they turn it on they just send it back 'fixed'
You might end up with a new phone :good:
Edit: It's worth plugging it in to Xperia Companion and effecting a repair before you send it back, it might be a dodgy build.

Some technicians are lazy and because they can't see what the probelem is when they turn it on they just send it back 'fixed'
You might end up with a new phone :good:
Edit: It's worth plugging it in to Xperia Companion and effecting a repair before you send it back, it might be a dodgy build.

Thanks for the reply. I have to use the Xperia Companion every time to "Fix" the phone and use it again (while going through the whole process of setting up/Restoring)....
Guess i will have to file a complaint again

I have a weird problem since Android 9 update. Every now and then when i restart the phone, it either gets stuck on "restarting" or restarts until "Sony" appears on the screen and keeps restarting. The only way to fix this would be to use the Xperia Companion.
I had bought the Phone on Amazon Germany in July 2018. I sent the phone back to them and they returned it claiming they have "Repaired it" but the problem is back again. Is there anyway it could be fixed or am i stuck with this gorgeous little brick forever?
