Why is the Bravia Engine 2 working only on Album and Videos, why it can't be enabled for the entire android system on the device?
P.S. I had a Samsung before and I've could switch between 3 modes of display, I've never had an SONY so I don't know the story behind Bravia Engine, but, like I said I love it to see it enabled in the whole android system UI. Why is that not possible? Thanks.

Bravia Engine 2 sounds like a gimmick.
But sadly, no camera button. Or Ant+. The V looks the dogs, but getting the Acro s instead.

That means receiving JB update immediately after being sold out. It was what Sony said with Xperia S and actually, we had awaited about 3 months.

Just got my Xperia Z today. I remember I saw a youtube video that someone demo a Xperia Z and running a app that have a split screen that show the result of a video/picture that having Bravia engine enabled and disabled.
Do anyone know what is that app or how to we enable the split screen to see the difference between with and without Bravia engine enabled.

Only possible on prototypes with the software reloaded, sorry! Even at Sony very few people have access to it...

Seems like we unable to know how good the Bravia Engine is doing to our Videos and Photos by comparing side by side.
Guess another way is to get 2 Xperia Z and compare it side by side with and without Bravia Engine enabled.
After unlocking bootloader I heard Bravia engine will lost, is it effected to lost our display quality?? Because now I feel my display quality is bit low.. :what:

Unlock bootloader doesn't reduce any display quality, except if your display broken
You can check your display by using service test

And select service test> display

Bravia will anyway work with only Movies and Album and even after unlocking it will work with Movies. So you won't be losing much if you unlock.
Dont worry machan I unlocked mine a few hours after purchase. Btw the display quality is poor because of hardware. It had a simple TFT screen. No Amoled or anything.

I mirrored it because most users search in general section of xperia sola. It's easier this way. There is no difference between them.
Hello all.
Have the Xperia Z1 with CM11. Wondering if I can get the stock camera app running, and if possible, how?
Don't like the stock camera app for CM11 since I don't think it's able to benefit the good camera of the Z1 to the full extent.

It uses Sony framework and cm does not...
I remember some cm / Sony framework roms... But that was for the arc... But in any case you should not count on it...the quality won't be better either as that is depending on the libs etc... But see if camerazoom app is better or go back to stock

Sounds good. Only installed CM11 since it fixed my constant loop of booting (after flashboot) into a firmware that was not detected by Sony software. Hopefully going back to stock will be possible for me

I guess you know me from my CM11s Port ROM and I guess you also know that the system dump of z3 was out yesterday by the community. Let's get into the point shall we? So I'm thinking of creating a z3 ROM for kitkat and I want your suggestions and thoughts on what you might want in the ROM so that maybe I and even other devs can have a resource to look to and see what the community generally wants in a z3 ROM for the xperia sp. So let the discussion begin shall we?

Base it on MrSteve555s cm11 for LBL pls,I dont want to cry that another cool ROM is only for UBL,and has an old base.
I mean,the best choice would be to base the UBL variant on the latest official cm11 nightlies,and LBL on MrSteve555s Cm11 weekly releases.

You can use RepeXpersiS if you need some files,that ROM is an excellent "port" of the Z2 4.4 for our SP.
Yes i think that mrsteve555 cm11 would be good because its locked bootloader and easy to install and use.. Other than that in my opinion if it is possible do something in the rom so that all of sony apps work in the rom for example get a sony app from play store and simply install..

And on xperia no such port is been seen even not the port of xperia z to other xperia devices really miss that on xperia....
Is the development is slow on xperia or other technical issues?
Please answer it is really annoying to see s3 running all the features of new falgship and our xperia sp even having good hardware didn't seem to get thos features from his big bros..... ??????

I think that SAMSUNG gave sources which allowed them to port the s5 4.4.

Hm.Not sure how to put this right.
If someone gives you a star shaped piece,you cant fit it in a square hole.
Without the sources available for our devices,we cant link everything to a state where the ROM is usable,or even bootable.There are guides to port manufacturer ROMs,so feel free to try it yourself.
I only miss bravia engine and the illumination LED bar on the RepeXpersiS,but when i return to eXistenZ,there is the ugly,old JB lockscreen which destroys the perfect z3 look you get on the RepeXpersiS.

Bro i m not a developer just use there things, so there is no question about developing a rom by my self and literally if know how to do it, i ll bro.
But my question in future is it possible to port the z3 rom into our xperia sp?
Without the help of sony or we can spare though on it.....

I am not into developing either.I wanted to try that guide myself,but one would ahve to download over 500 mb of thrash over a 500kb/s internet,just to see if his project that already has low probabilities will work out.I wil lrather wait for the ROMs.You do have z3 apps ported.So install them.There are z3 app ports for 4.3,and everything is amazing,but my spine jumps out when i use my phone and feel like i have the z3,and then see the old lockscreen that cant be replaced.Xperia Lockscreen isnt fully compatible with 4.3 either,will try to use expanded desktop on it...

There is app called xperia lock screen on play store install it, it provide the new lock screen feature as well the one with z3.

I completely agree with @Marionette
I think everything on Existenz will be perfect as long as we could use new ported apps and features on it and it's not important if it's android 4.3 or 4.4
and the only big need now is a perfect systemui compatible with new z3 home and a z2 lockscreen port
So if anyone could use new sony ports on the latest xperia sp stock rom I think it would be better because that way we could also have dialer and contacts and themes and many many more that still arent ported on cm11
