Hi, all. I'm thinking about popping for the Nook HD+ today, while they still have the free Simple Touch bundle. I was wondering, if I were to keep it stock and just install Google Play as per the thread here, does the Bluetooth function on the Nook HD+ allow for music player controls for the apps I'd be installing through the sideloaded Play store? Or is it limited to Nook's music player? It's kind of important to me, as I'd be using it as a music /podcast device at work (I'm a painter), and I'd need the wireless to be able to move freely while the NHD+ is tucked away in a cabinet or whatever. Is the range pretty good?
Thanks for your time.
BT controls work fine, in case anyone else was wondering. It was probably a dumb question, haha.

Thanks for the info, I don't have one yet, and since i'll be getting one am trying to pre-emptively learn whatever I can about it. Don't discount the value of information like this.
+1 for the trivial info.
I too am thinking about it, and this answers my question. :good:

Another suggestion if that's ok?
I had remembered that with the IOS vers. of the SNES emulator, that you could use you're iPod touch or iPhone as the controller.
Anyone know of any way to do that with an android phone? ie: use my android phone as a bluetooth gamepad to play emulators with.
I have searched google the past few days and have only seen the Wiimote apk. While that does work, it just seems more convenient to have a phone that is already with you able to do it, that and it only has a limited number of buttons.
Anyone else share the interest? Thanks! =)
+1 to this
I would definitely be interested in this as well, using your phone as the remote would be killer and extremely convenient!
That would be pretty cool. I hope someone develops something.
Yeah it would.
one up for this!
does a project like this exist (even under development) ? i just googled for an hour but i could not find anything useful.
Something that maps wifi signals from my phone to key press on my pc would be great to use with emulators
//edit
hehe... just after posting i found something
http://code.google.com/p/agamepad/
sadly its not under active development
oh and could somebody please move this thread to a more general android section? i just found it via google and then realized its in the xoom forums (where it does not belong imo)
This would be really cool.
Neat idea to contribute: Make it skinnable. So, you could maybe lay it out like the controller of whatever you're playing. (When using Nesoid, you could use an NES controller skin, when using Snesoid, you could use an SNES controller skin, etc.)
I'm more interested in using my phone as a bluetooth keyboard, but I suppose that could be part of it.
I have been looking for an app that will make my android phone into a remote control. I want to have my Xoom connected to my tv and use my phone to control the various media players that I use..
about android phone into gamepad/ keyboard
Hi, do have any news about this apps now? THANKS
try this
i use unified remote<full version> on a daily basis. it is my portable blue-tooth keyboard, media remote, mouse, etc... i even use it on my laptop. it comes with alot of preloaded remotes for various setups.i have never done it, but it does have a custom settings menu to make your own remote setup.. idk if this can control games, but as far as everything else, hellz yeah.
This is a great idea, skinnable would definitely be hot. Of course I got my PS3 controller working on my Xoom already....
I don't wanna root my device just to use my PS3 controller and I also dont have a OTG cable Im getting one in Nov though
well, i was looking for something like that as well. for weeks, but i found something great here at xda-developers its called "blueputdroid" https://market.android.com/details?id=berserker.android.apps.blueputdroid and its doing a great job even if the gamepad does not work this good .. but 4 example the psx4droid emulator made it possible to control via this app. its just need to be configured correctly.
oh thanks`, But "blueputdroid" is not suppot for my darky v10.2 Rom _ _!! and i also find some as similar as it " droidmote client" but it's support through WIFI only...
you can use DroidMote Server / Client in the android market.
look this video and search for other:

I'm not a great player and I am very tired after having developed a lot but this is a small example of the new features:

Hey all, I was wondering how the media share plays out with the Bionic.
I have a friend who is very interested in that feature of the phone (as well as myself)
Anyone have any feed back on it, more specifically speed and reliability of this feature, thank you.

It's called ZumoCast, and it's sick. Easy to setup, and you can access anything on your computer. I highly recommend it. I use it to stream my entire music library and view my pictures - without having to store any on my memory card.
It works good, but when I try to skip more than 1 track in a row, it hangs and force closes on me. Does that happen to anyone else? Other than that though, it's great for getting files quickly. I use it to share programs and games from my computer and just get them when I need it.
zumocast is awesome but i also have issues with fc. and does not support alot of video formats or subtitles.
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using XDA App
Any way to get the Gear to skip, play/pause Google music? Any one been able to figure it out?
I think it works just the same from what I've read.. I'll check once I get mine going tonight
Yes its working you need to put google music as default player.

This makes me happy
While on the subject, when I use Bluetooth audio in the car, the samsung player automatically plays instead of google music. I have selected google music player as the default but the samsung player always starts to play. I am not able to deactivate the samsung player app. Is there another work around to not let it play at all?

That doesn't seem to work for me. Only way it controls it at all is if I start playing the music on the phone first, which is rather annoying. Am I doing something wrong?

Also works perfectly with BubbleUPNP.
I use my phone as the renderer and my tablet as my interface/playlist when driving and I can use my watch to skip/volume/etc.

I do think you have to start it on the phone first, then it's good from there.

yes, that is how it is working for me as well.
The best solution i have found is to freeze the stock samsung music app with something like titanium or rom toolbox. Granted you need to be rooted for this but it works perfect for me. I workout with a set of lg tones and control everything from my gear. I can confirm it also works to start music from the gear rather than opening google play music first.
Hi All, I've just joined this forum so apologies if this question has been asked before..
I recently bought the chromecast and so far loving it! But lately whenever I try and cast a tab from Google Chrome to play a video (not Youtube), the video plays fine, but previously using Win+T I could toggle between the tab (currently playing full screen video) to another browser and use it simultaneously. I now find this is impossible, and not sure what the issue is. If I toggle between tabs, the video playing also minimizes..
Any help would be greatly appreciated and not sure if I have managed to explain it properly!
Thanks in advance..

Thank you for your quick reply! Reading the link you gave me I guess this is a known issue post update unfortunately...
I tried doing all the steps others have mentioned, but it still hasn't worked for me. Do you know if there is any other workaround for this or if Google is planning on fixing this in the future?

The "Fullscreen anything" extension didn't work for you?
I'm not sure whether it's Chrome itself, the page, the graphics card/driver, or what, but different people get different behavior.
I also don't know if it's meant to fullscreen on the desktop while doing other things or not. Might be the folks who have it working are just lucky.
Worth putting in a Chrome and Chromecast report anyway. If Google sees enough feedback, maybe they'll take a look.
Is this possible or am I going to have to use the chromecast. I'm wanting to play football on the tv via xbmc and wired normally means a better picture thanks in advance of anyone can help.

Take a quick search and you will find your answer rather than posting a duplicate thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/help/slimport-t2907272
Chromecast is not your only option however. You can use miracast if you are rooted, you just need to modify the build prop to enable it. I use miracast quite a bit and it works quite well for me.
