Disable radio... - Motorola Droid 4

So I have a spare d4 I keep around for parts and recently I have let my daughter (2yo) play with it... I figured I could just use use the lte on off app and disable the radio so she won't dial 911 but... she manages to keep turning it back on by toggling airplane mode.... so after a sheriff knocked on my door in response to a hang up call I figured I might ask you'll if there was a way to disable the call function or the best way to.... maybe freeze the dialer or something idk ... what do you'll suggest... thank you kindly for your time... and any help or suggestions

Lol try freezing or deleting the phone/dialer app, or something else that will break the radio

[Q] Loss of touch screen

OK, so I've had this issue a couple times before today, but today it's happened three times. My touchscreen capabilities cease completely. I will be doing something on my phone and put it back in my holster, and when I go to use it again I have no way to interface with it. I'm on the 1.1 ROM. Not sure what's going on. The only solution is to do a battery pull... Anybody have any ideas?
Sent from my VS910 4G using XDA Premium App
Have you tried just turning the screen off then back on? Works for me... although my screen randomly gives out while using it... lol
Sent from my VS910 4G using Tapatalk
I have all kinds of issues with my screen. Sensitivity gets out of whack sometimes. Typing is a ***** sometimes. I dont know if its a screen calibration thing, or LG, but its a huge pain in the ass sometimes.
Sent from my VS910 4G using XDA Premium App
Turning on and off doesn't bring it back like it did with the Moto Droid. Kinda disheartening....

Dang... I was hoping someone else had had this issue and knew of a fix... Oh well, not yet any way lol!

1 thing u can do is go to verizon store and show them ur touchscreen not work and they send u a new phone through warranty at no charge

Smart Dock - Mobile Network Disabled

I just received my Smart Dock in the mail and they failed to mention that you can't make or receive phone calls or text messages while it's docked. This is a HUGE flaw for me and I probably wouldn't had even have bought this had I known. Yet, it is nowhere mentioned on Amazon or on the Samsung website. I find this very misleading considering its a product for your "smart" phone. I found out by troubleshooting in vain then finally contacting Samsung tech support where it was confirmed.
Someone please crack this open and find a way!

Wow! This may be a carrier customization. Are you going to send it back?
Hmm. Mine works.
Sprint
LJ7 Deodexed ROM
Slightly themed.
I actually keep my BT Headset on so I can answer calls all over my apt without having to undock.

Works for me. Running cleanrom 4.5 on verizon note 2
No problems here either. Can text or call while its docked. Calls automatically go to speakerphone mode.

No I'm going to keep it. I'm on Verizon I use it only at night anyways so its ok. Ppl hit me up on Google Talk a lot so I'll maintain.
Here is a screenshot I took from my conversation with tech support. Also, I'm running Eclipse but I don't think the ROM is the problem.

I'm going to throw CleanRom on tonight at work and see if it works. Hope it does.

Help!!! My phone was hacked!

OK so the weirdest thing happened just now. I was charging my atrix HD when I went on it to check a phone number. Then it started opening apps and going on xda then other apps. I had no control over it. I couldn't even turn it off. I had to do the power and volume down thing to shut off. It was very creepy. I was just looking for a minute while the person did what they did. It was like when a person from dell controls your computer if something isn't working right. At first I thought it was being laggy but no! It kept going settings were changed and the person tried playing music on it! I turned it off before he could but the wierdest part is that I had turned of my wifi and set my phone on airplane mode so it can charge faster. No communication what so ever. Right now its off and I plan to keep it that way until someone can tell me what to do to protect myself. Also this could have been happening before i went to go check my phone. Which was like 15 minutes before I checked it. Please help

Maybe you installed an app that had a RAT or some other virus in it
Sent from my Atrix HD using Tapatalk 4
That's what I'm thinking. A bad app. The likely hood of it being hacked are slim.

I'm guessing you handle it like you would handle a virus on a computer and just wipe everything and start over.

android is very hard to hack probably a virus delete data in cwm
Best thing to do is just wipe.
Easy way to do it is to go to Settings->Privacy->Factory Reset
It was probably a bad app.
Click thanks if I helped!

Another thing to be aware of is I've noticed Motorola's screens (at least on the Atrix models) are kind of finnicky. If there's a little bit of moisture around they just start registering touches on their own sometimes.
With my battery life being... less than ideal.. I find myself plugging into all kinds of chargers along my travels. Some non moto chargers make my phone go nuts, exactly like what was described - apps opening etc. Have experienced this several times. Feel the other explanations are possible of course but highly unlikely.

There was a story on the news recently that someone's iPhone was hacked by trying to charge at a public charging station. I would be weary of these charging stations.

Airport WiFi connections are VERY insecure. Basically they monitor everything that goes through. Text messages, calls, anything. Maybe they also have access to control phones?

I agree with above post non oem chargers can make the phone act funny especially the cheap dollar store chargers get an oem cable the you will know that it will work for charging and data.

Slow GPS positioning.

I don't know if it's just my handset that has this issue. If it's an issue at all.
My GPS takes forever to find my actual location. Leaving central London yesterday on the M4 the GPS around 25 minutes to find where I was. It isn't really acceptable to be quite honest.
Is there an issue or is it a handset fault solely affecting me?

Done. It took nearly an hour to find a signal. But it found one... I don't understand. If the hardware is working why isn't the signal being detected in a normal time frame.

Have you tried reflashing a stock rom. And see if the problem persists. If it doesn't, you probably have some tweak or module doing stuff to the gps.
If the problems still there it could be your carrier or a faulty device.
Flashed back already. Several times. I haven't got any tweaks or changes going on, the only reason I rooted was to rid myself of the bloat.
This is really annoying me, if I have got another crop handset off Sony I will definitely be going back to HTC phones.

Are you removing fast dormancy? For some carriers it's needed.
I think so. I have basically now gone down the route of stopping the phone cutting any process off for any reason. Still the issue persists though.

this is just a wild guess, but worth a shot.
try redownloading the stock rom, check md5 and be sure to make a clean install.
try download "FasterGPS" from playstore, to get the time from a ntp server near you, to avoid wrong time for the fix due to delay on a long travel from the ntp package

Prompts after I turn off gps

On my S five I used to be able to turn off the GPS without getting a lot of prompts from Google. Yet now I can't do that. Is there something that I can freeze it to stop this?

When you're turning off gps you're also turning off location completely thats why youre getting prompts. You need to switch location to power saving when turning off gps.
Oops, I meant my s3. I think it's an app that want something, maybe a Google app, but I don't know which one.
