So yesterday I was flicking aimlessly from apps to widgets and back, must've been really bored, anyway I noticed the music recognition widget was there! In UK and it wasn't there before, maybe google's expanded it worldwide now.
Tried it on Bruno mars, disclosure, and Nyan cat. Worked fast every time.:good:
German Play Store says Bla Bla not availavle here..
I installed it manually and it works flawlessly.

Not available in Canada... Manually installed and works now!

Just for curiosity, I've compared it to other music recognition softwares, SoundHound and MusixMatch's Music ID.
I have tried them with four different studio songs played via my crappy headphones from 1 cm distance. Here are the results:
SONG SoundHound MusixMatch Sound Search
Club Dogo - Rap Soprano Yes Yes No ( 3 attempts)
(Not very known)
Metallica - Blackened Yes Yes Yes (faster than the others)
(Known)
Third Eye Blind - Jumper Yes Yes Yes (faster than the others )
(Moderately Known)
The Donnas - Take it off Yes (2nd attempt) Yes Yes (faster than the others )
(Not very known)
Tenacious D -Classico Yes Yes Yes (faster than others )
(Not known)
Google did very well, considering that it isn't even available in all countries. Thanks for reading

Just saw an article about it on Engadget. It's a bunch of free flash games. They actually run smooth. Let it load up for the first couple of seconds or so, then play. Just played the first round of vector shooter and it was smooth as butter. Touchscreen friendly too.
Arcade by Kongregate
I downloaded it also and the games all run extremely well, however instead of this thread being full of posts of praise why dont we all just say which applications in the 'Kongregate Arcade' we think are great - which would make this thread a lot more useful!
1. Vector Runner - great game!
EDIT: It seems i was misunderstood, i meant which games in the Kongregate Arcade itself are good (As there are over 300 in their databases ATM)
we have, it's in the other sub section

So you can now download multiple map areas when your at home on WiFi before you go out and they stay there so you dont need data to use maps.
Just do the following:
1. Make sure you have the latest version 5.7
2. When in Google Maps, press menu
3. Then choose: more > labs > and select "Download Map Area"
4. Go back to the map and center where you want to download.
5. Hold down your finger in the center of the map untill the address pops up.
6. Press the address bubble and the standard menu will popup only now you can select "Download Map Area" which will download 10sq Miles of map around that address, you can keep doing it until you have the whole of NZ if you want, its awesum!
Try it out, works great.

I have no idea where that is but no you don't you just need to download the map and then turn gps on... All you need is gps.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA Premium App
Thanks but it will take me a day to download the whole of UK. Hopefully Brut will crack it and make it downlaod at least 100sq miles at a time then it will be easier.
I don't know why google don't make Maps Loader to allow us to get the maps for countries we want and then use only GPS to use maps like in Nokia Maps it will be so good to have all country map in offline mode
I agree so much easier

I still don't get how it works to be honest

It will download a 10mile radius of map data and it enables you to travel offline if needed ( in case of a kink in data connection ).
I constantly travel, so what I did was download 10+ 10mile radius so I would have no issue when travelling through deadzones ( which is EVERYWHERE.....thanks AT&T )

No, it's not. It won't help you if you need to reroute to another destination you didn't pre-download. I've been using CoPilot since 2009 while waiting for Google to catch up... no problems yet. I guess free isn't always better.
The only thing i like is that google picks up gps almost instantly...wheres as sygic 3 takes ages

thx thats gr8
This is good news but still way behind what Nokia offers. Hope they will catch up soon...
this is awesome thanks

If you are getting an error when you try to download the apps then just go to the website on your computer and make the purchase and install from there.
Thanks for the info

A maybe related topic here. Anyone know a App like "App shopper" on iOS? Where you can subscribe to an existing app and got a instant email notification once it's on sale.

Just flashed a custom 4.2.2 N7 rom and sure enough, it's there - interesting enough, it's showing up also on my HTC DI2 running GingerBread (custom rom written over a year ago,) no prompt or option to cancel/postpone or decline, just auto-updated (except that it did not have the Location & Search sub-menu like the N7)
Suffice to say - easily integrated without crashing or freezing, enhancement across the board for all Google devices ... I think. :highfive:
The icon looks very unattractive. Now my app drawer has 3 similar icons side by side that are blue (Google Search), green (Google Settings), and red (Google+)
Hhmm, I don't have it. Dirty AOKP. I'll reboot and see
..
OK, after reboot it's there.

It turned me into a newt!
I got better.
I have been using HTC alot and samsung too, both fones could easily integrate social info in contacts and other sections of fone... since "Z" is premium class product i fail to understand why this is so poor... i am having lot of issues and have to link contacts manually.... is someone else facing same issue or is it me...and also the dedicated app to collate the info from feeds in one. "Social life" when i click on it..it goes to market and says your device is not compatible with this application?
And here it is shown working
http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_xperia_z-review-887p10.php
My socialife worked fine up until yesterday but now the feed doesn't update. I can still post from it though.
