So, I've rooted and installed CWM.
And I've tried to install the JB AOSP. After installing, my phone does not turn on. When I long press the power button, the phone vibrates but that's it. Which has me thinking that it's a soft brick. Also, the notification light turns green when I enter flash mode, my computer also detects a device, so I think there is hope.
I run a locked bootloader by the way, is that where I went wrong?
So, should I use the flashtool? I don't know what to do, please someone help me.
Yes that Rom needs an unlocked boot loader.
Just flask a stock ftf, or repair in pccompanion, or unlock your bootloader and flash the Rom again
Now I have answered your question, guess which section it should have been posted in

Do you flash the rom after unlocking the bootloader via flashtool?
Thanks. And it shoulda been posted in General, right?

Another answer to your question is
Run Pccompanion then run software update. When it says you already have the latest software then click on repair phone.
However, this will not work if you have unlcoked your bootloader, if you do that you can just flash the rom again and it will work.
By the way, the screen does not turn on. Is that a problem?

Went into flashmode then connected to the pc. A "repair my phone" option showed up and the file is now downloaded.
So that basically solved my problem. Thank you, and thanks to everybody who helped.

Hi there!
I've unlocked using flashtool, installed CWM Recovery and rooted using the recovery-only root.
Now, I need to return the phone to as stock as possible - certainly removing root, but relocking the bootloader would be a good secondary objective.
My current plan is to use the flashtool to relock the bootloader, then use the PC software to repair the phone. Will this work?
Thanks for your help
Edit: I've searched the forums but can't find an answer, including in the starting thread - please link to a relevant portion instead of the whole thing if possible
Further edit: There's no 'relock' option in the flashtool - huh?

As of now there is no option to relock the bootloader. You can unroot the phone by simply performing a repair system command in Sony PC Companion or flashing a stock rom. This has been explained in every single rooting or custom MOD thread.
Ya you are right. Relock bootloader using flashtool and repair or flash a ftf from flashtool.
And IIRC in the beta version of flashtool u will find option to relock under BLU. And btw u won't get back DRM keys and no Bravia engine.

I don't see the option to relock anywhere - perhaps as I did the unlock on another PC?
If you can't get it to work with PC Companion use SUS (Sony Update Service which you can download from Sony's website) http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/update-service/ --> for UK

Thanks - I expected there to be a separate button for relocking - whoops!
I've flashed the stock ROM and that's gotten rid of the root. It also says that the bootloader can be unlocked, so that seems all perfect as far as I'm concerned. Thanks for your help, ladies and gentlemen.
Hello,
Currently my Xperia T's 'Bootloader Unlock' is set to No. I was wondering if any attention or development is happening to unlock locked bootloaders?
Is there something in the works, or is it being left alone since there are devices that have bootloaders that are unlockable?
Thanks,
W.

You can flash roms that are for locked bootloaders "hint hint" Xperia T Android Development "hint"
But If you flash a unlocked bootloader rom on to a locked bootloader it wont work and will just vibrate (which leads you into recovering in flash mode)
There is this thing called flashing .TA to try to unlock but you have a 50% your device will be hard bricked, 95% it wont work and 100% will disable radio.
Flashing a .TA is dangerous, and could just hard brick your phone
If you want to take the risks then do it here

Hi AndroidHC,
Thanks for the quick reply. Yeah I'm aware of the ROMs available =). That's what prompted my question because there's a ROM I wanted to flash but it requires an unlocked bootloader and wanted to know what options were available for unlockable bootloaders.
Thanks for the link to the other forum. It's tempting but I think I'll hold off on that workaround.

W.

not necessarily, only if it was allowed before rooting by bin4ry method.
This only happens as a by product of bin4rys method make an error in the reporting of the status, it does not actually change the status.

Hi, I unlocked the bootloader on my xperia t lt30p one time with intention to root it and install custom roms but never did as I nearly bricked it when putting a kernel on. I managed to put what I think is a stock kernel and rom back on, but I went to update it the other day and pc companion says that it could not complete the operation because the phone has been modified. I read somewhere that having the bootloader unlocked can cause this, so I wish to re lock it. Could anyone point me in the direction of a good tutorial to do so? Cheers...

the link provided by our friend is quite good, that's where you have to head over
and about the tutorial, tha't so easy, just flash that FTF file via Flashtools
power off your phone, open flashtools, select flash logo, then FLASH MODE, then connect your phone as you are pressing down the VOLUME DOWN button, and let it do the rest
disconnect and enjoy your relocked bootloader
So I won't need to re flash the rom again? sorry. I'm a bit of a noob at phone modding. Pc's I can do. Not phones yet. Hahaha.
no, flash the relock ftf found in the dev section, and it just relocks your bootloader, your rom will stay the same

RElock won't affect you rom, BUT if you unlcok AGAIN, then at the very first start up of the phone when it is the first time after RE-UNlocking, it will have a factory reset
just wanted to let you know
but for now, NO, it won't touch your firmware

I've recently flashed this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448613 and was just wondering can I still update via Pc companion/SEUS to new firmwares/updates without losing the kernel, root etc...like will it replace the kernel with a stock one?

If you have unlocked your bootloader by the official method at unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com, then you can not use PC Companion or SEUS to update firmware.

Obviously. In order to access test points, the back cover will have to be removed. The back cover uses tape/gasketing to enforce waterproofing. My question was about whether someone has actually looked into a testpoint unlock yet for the XZ1.
