[Q] Soft brick or Hard BRICK?[Solved] - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ok so I was attempting to flash this Rom through CWM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2180208
I had flashed my XZ C6603 already with this Rom so I know that it works correctly.
Anyways I decided to reflash my phone, did all the wipes through CWM before flashing my phone. While attempting to flash my phone the status kept hanging @ "formatting device", it took too long, specially compared to the first time I flashed the device, so I decided to abort (restart).
Now the phone won't go pass the Sony logo, turned the device on and off already, but that didn't help.
I downloaded Flashtool v0.9.10.1, but the thing is that when I hook up my phone to my computer, my phone isn't even being seen, so when I start Flashtool, it just says "31/021/2013 17:21:25 - INFO - Device disconnected".
Is there any way to restore this, or does this mean RMA?

Lets go in steps :
Does it boot to recovery?
If so try, formatting system partition and booting.

Re: [Q] Soft brick or Hard BRICK?
Try to repair using update service or emma(if you have unlocked bootloader).
Edit:It seems the recovery we got still not stable enough, that's why i didn't flash any custom rom, even i didn't tried any recovery.

I'm using the repair service at the moment, will report back with the results.
Edit: The repair service fixed it for me, thanks.

[LT30p] [SOLVED] Boot loop after downgrading with flashtool

Unsatisfied by the JB update of my xperia T, I downloaded flashtool and the ftf file to revert to ICS.
Procedure apparently went good, but at the restart the phone is looping on boot: I see 'sony', then 'xperia', then the animation starts but after a little it restarts again and again.
Probably my fault was to leave the 'wipe data' option unchecked.
How can I fix? I can't unplug the battery so I'm not able to go to flash mode and try again...

Even my Xperia T is in booloop.... I flashed many times, many kernels but none are working. It shows Sony logo (not even showing
xperia). It stays the same in every rom. The phone was purchased from UK... Any help would be appreciated...

If you have not unlocked the bootloader then just repair the phone using pccompanion.
What exactly have you flashed? Have you rooted? have you unlocked the bootloader?

After the phone went into boot loop, i unlocked the bootloader. then i tried SE tool Emma to downgrade to ICS, tried your kernel as well as more 2-3 kernels in combinations but nothing worked. I used flash tool and flashed several ICS and JB ftfs custom as well as modded but none worked yet.... It's still the same, reboots after the logo... In older ICS, it reboots after Xperia screen while in other FW, it reboots just after the sony logo...
Is this enough information to figure out the problem? What is the right comibnation of kernel and FW to start this phone ? It was purchased in UK and came with ICS....It was upgraded to JB without any problem and one day it just went into boot loop surprisingly....
Thank you for your time...
Search for the relock bootloader ftf in the dev section.
Flash that in flashtool (not emma)
Then run the repair software un pccompanion

Did as you said. Flashed the relocked bootloader through flashtool (not emma)... Used the PC companion and did a "recover" procedure...At the end it said "Xperia T was updated with 9.1.A.1.140"
The problem is still the same. It restarts after the sony logo....
What is the next procedure to try ?
Thanks for the help...

That's is not good. After a pccompanion repair everything should be fine.

Flashed nothing... Before the problem....the phone was updated to JB..It worked for 2 months and then suddenly one day, it freezes, when restarted ,it went into boot loop. That's what bugging me. The flash mode works fine, the quickboot works fine..i can flash any files without any problem, but with any rom or default FW, it restarts after the logo, so i wanna know the possibilities of the problem...
Is there any way with which i can fully format the internal drive and then flash the FW ? Is there a possibly of corrupt internal drive ?
I have had the same Problem, even with repair function of PCC. Only thing working for me was flashing original JB tft with flash tool. After that it bootet up normaly and everything was working again. (Bootloop stayed with ics tft, only jb tft worked)
I flashed jb tft->bootloader relock->jb tft

I bricked my XZ :(

Please help guys. I tried flashing ROM using the instructions on the front page for locked bootloader and my phone froze on formatting /system, I restarted phone and it is just stuck on Sony. I have tried holding power and volume up it does nothing except restart the device. My PC won't recognise it to do any repairs. Any ideas?
Keep pressing vol up + power for 15 sec till the phone shutdown.
Use flashtool to flash a stock ftf firmware.

Download flashtool from development section, and an ftf stock firmware.
Put the ftf file in flashtool/firmware folder.
Install xperia z drivers, you find it in flashtool/drivers
Click on flash, choose the ftf and wait the the pop up telling you to connect your phone by holding volume down and connecting the usb.

I don't know if there is an easier way cause i didn't tried the recovery available.
All you can do is doing all steps again and install the recovery than restore your backup.

ok so i was stupidly messing around with my fastboot cwm interface menu`s
and i decided ,somehow that it was a good idea to try and install the jellybean 4.2.2
firmware on my device so i entered the install from sdcard menu without even thinking much about it i located the .zip file and installed it and clicked reboot and then absolutley nothing but the boot vibration went off and the screen stays black and it is stuck here . so i used to old powr+ vol up for 3-15 secs and waited for the double vibration and still nothing happens .so im stuck.
sorry for the long post but i`m in a panic as this phone is fairly new about 1 month old and i had already rooted and unlocked boot loader on it so .i hope the info helps you to help me

Sounds to me like you haven't flashed the kernel required for 4.2.2 (I am presuming you were on a stock/custom Sony ROM before)
If you flash 4.2.2 you also need to flash the kernel specific to the ROM you've tried to flash using fastboot commands.
To do that you need to have the correct XZ drivers installed, and have adb/fastboot working

I am 99% sure it has water damage and is broken.
However, if you have not unlocked the bootloader do a software repair using PCComapnion.
If you have unlocked the bootloader or that does not work, flash a stock FTF using flashtool. Make sure you wipe everything.
Hve tried flash using flashtool and wipe anything but nit work. Still bootloop.
But I can enter recovery mode and no restart almost 30 minutes.
Will try using PC kompanion. Will rrport again later..
Eh but my device is unlocked :banghead:

- If I inserted the battery the phone just turn on but in bootloop condition
- If I take out the battery and plug in the charger, the phone also turn on but only sony logo after that restar again and again and again
I think have problem in electricity circuit in my phone

Try flashing a stock FTF using flashtool.
Get the FTF from the all in one thread in the Q&A section and download flashtool from the first thread in the dev section
EDIT
Are you sure PCCompanion flashed your phone? If it did you should no longer have recovery.
Nah.. I mean that recmod no problem no restart. Before I flashed stock FW and relock bootloader.
I just confuse why my phone can boot to recmod and no problem but cannot load the OS

I think I need some help.

Sorry if this isn't the right way of asking this.
I was on .205 firmware I've rooted it using toowelroot way and installed a recovery. Then I tried to install CM11 nightly from today.
I turned on the phone on recovery.
Made a backup.
Install from zip
got a message os "installation complete press any key"
rebooted.
phone never turned itself on
Tried to turned it on but it only vibrates.
Did I brick my phone?
help please.
---------------------------------------------
Did a bit of search. I'm using SUS to fix the problem. I guess custom ROM's aren't for me.
What I'm doing:
*Started SUS
*Connected phone while holding Volume - to the PC
Now I'm waiting for SUS to "fix" my mistake.

Hey @funky0308 I wiped the data partition from the recovery (my stupidy) after that the phone went into bootloop. The sony logo comes up then an Android logo comes with a blue bar running the the bottom of the screen. I tried to repair phone with PC companion it says it was successful but the same thing happens Sony logo and after that the same android logo. All this while on the latest 4.4.4 (.108 version) i though I had an older FTF so I tired flashing the older firmware 4.4.2 (.757) it was successful but when booted up same issue. I thought that the kernal is not getting fixed then I tried to flash just the .757 firmware kernal ans still same issue. I again repaired the phone with PC companion and get the success message but whe i try to boot same thing happens.
I think will have to take it to the sony centre only.
Perform a clean install, don't restore anything from recovery. Allow it to boot, see if the problem persists.

Wiping data won't get you to bootloop, system wipe will.
So, really, try to download latest ftf and flash it through pc companion.
Wipe all and remove sdcard for now...
Test everything, boot device and then try to put sdcard back to phone...
Wiping and formating data are important!

I got this error whilst using multi boot menu
I had a stock rom and a CM running at the same time. It may be due to data being stored on the SD card that comes from both Roms trying to be accessed at the same time. (AFAIK)
I know just updated to 4.4.4 with a clean install (Which wiped the data partition). After the install I restored all my apps with data using Titanium and the problem is gone.
