I got a warning that 'Devices' was stopping stamina mode & disabled it by accident.
Anybody know how to re-enable it?
I can not find it in my app list (settings/apps/all).
Thanks for any help.

Hmm I think it's not in the list because it's not really an app, but part of the OS.
How did you disable it? The same way you disabled it you should have an option to re-enable it.

It was through the notification.
Clicking took me to the 'force stop/disable' menu for devices & I disabled from there.
Now can't find it to re-enable & I won't get the pop up again.

RESOLVED.
Just for future reference, disabled apps appear at the very BOTTOM of the settings/apps/all list.

First of all the thread is a little old, and secondly all that does it remove notifications for that, it still downloads in the background and you might miss other important notifications.

If I recall I believe I read somewhere years ago that said if you rename the ..fota.apk in system/apps it will not check for a system update? Perhaps I am mistaken...its been a couple years.

Keep in mind that doing it that way only hides the notification.
It will still download, and it WILL wakelock to do so.

I am using this to disable the OTA notification for Lollipop. It eliminates the notification but the update is still available under About Phone/System Updates, and it requires touching "Download" to download. So, why do you think the OTA will still occur?

I'm saying that it will just hide all system notifications, NOT get rid of the OTA. You'll miss other system notifications if you do get any and the OTA will still be waiting.

So what other options are there? I downloaded 'Disable Service' from Play Store, unchecked the three everyone has been suggesting, but those three would then wakelock my phone 100% of the time.
Thanks for the heads up OP!

If you check app info you will notice you are disabling notifications for Google play services app. This app has nothing in common with standard android system notifications so they will continue to work. Question is, what other notifications does play services app has that could be considered important to the user.
I've been getting a notification very frequently that says "searching location" and then a little while later says "location found." Is this normal? I have location set to high accuracy. I guess it isn't that big a deal, I just find it a bit annoying.
I think this has something to do with the moto app. Haven't figured out which part yet. But I got the same thing happening. Think it's normal

Yeah, I know what he's talking about.. But there's no entry for "command center" in the apps list (Settings -> Apps -> All) where you can disable it completely. Hence why I'm asking him if he knows the entry's name, so I can disable it.

Actually my bad - there was an entry for "Command Center" and it was already disabled. So to answer your question, disabling the command center does not fix this "Location Found" issue.
If this issue hasn't been resolved yet - Next time you see the notification, long press it in the notification drawer before it disappears and hit app info and it will show you what app it is. I'm not sure if you can disable it though
Guys, do you experience this? I already enabled some apps on the accessibility settings but still it gets turned off automatically. Any idea how to make it permanently enabled? Thanks.

That's the only useful new feature of all the updates.. rest all are related to integration with bixby.
It was pain to reach all the way up on this everest tall phone to pull down the notifications, real pain with one handed use. Now the issue is solved.
Thanks for the info

Yep and it broke my subs black theme for messages. I had to uninstall reboot and reinstall. All good again. I get concerned when they update the UI because subs applied can crash the UI then we need a factory reset.
touchwiz also updated. the new drop down menu in home screen settings might be new for some people but I downloaded a previous apk version from sammoble.com that already had the notification pull down option. FYI sam mobile uploads most of the apks a lot quicker then Samsung lol.

According to some users you are certainly not alone. They did say that once app / system files were updated then the option appeared. But not everyone and suggested reporting the issue via the feedback option. Try updating everything first and see what happens. Factory reset didn't help either.

It's not silly because I have no idea what they were talking about either. I guess they mean apps like carrier services and perhaps the monthly security updates? I'll look further see if there are any clarifications. You have the 4xl and are in the U. S. right? They did mention all play store updates too.
