UK three network ultrafast/4g - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone know whether three's HTC one being 'ultrafast' ready means it will be able to access three's up and coming 4g network, or does it refer to the existing hsdpa network only? Cheers for any help, bit confused.

yes, One can use 3's 4G when it becomes available

Does the HTC One support DC-HSDPA that Three offers?
Didn't want to open a new thread for this as it's sort of related, but I apologise for hijacking your thread.

Yup pretty nippy, puts my home bb to shame.

Yeah seems to average around 15-20 mb/s download, very pleased with it.

[Q] Rooting htc Hero on 2.1 (not Sprint)

Okay guys, I have scoured the internet and these forums trying to find a solution to my problem, but I have not come up with anything yet. I have followed the directions exactly for the Sprint version of the rooting for 2.1 on an htc Hero and everything is fine until I get to the command:
sh /sdcard/unrevoked
Now it does it's thing with this and I get the next Unpacking, please wait... And then the huge UNREVOKED, but after this in everything that I have seen it should say "Ready to 'su'." Yet it never does. It just goes back to the "$" and that's where it sits. I checked the phone just to make sure and see if the superuser permissions app was there... and it's not. Am I missing something? I didn't get any errors before this, but can't get that app installed. Ugh, so frustrated...
So no ideas from anyone, huh? Darn, and here I was hoping someone would at least have something for me to try.
I am confused, you said in the thread title you want root for 2.1 not sprint but then you go to mention this;

So you want it for the sprint or not for the sprint?
See here not for the sprint (HTC Hero)

Andrewb84uk,
Good question, but the statement I made still holds true. The phone I have is not using the Sprint ROM but it is a CDMA phone, so I was hoping that the rooting exploit for Sprint would work for the company that I am through as well (which happens to be a carrier called Cellcom located in Wisconsin). So Yes, I do not have a Sprint Hero, but I also do not have a GSM Hero either. Just hoping that since I can't find rooting for any other carriers, something might have worked...

If your phone is CDMA, then I would post over at http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=650
I can move this if you want (I think), but you might as well just open a thread over there and explain the issues.
In GSM Hero, we tend to refer to all CDMA hero's as being Sprint Heros (since Sprint was first to release it IIRC)

Wait... there is a CDMA forum section? Wha??!?!?? Musta missed that. Merci Beaucoup! I'll probably do that then. If you could move it over that would be great as well.

Search " universal 1 click root" on xda and follow those directions, even some dude on ACG network gained root.

I tried out a few of the different rooting techniques and have still had no luck. It's kinda frustrating. I guess that's one of the downsizes of having so many devices with the same platform. You can root for one device, but it certainly won't work for all, or all the different carriers either. Couple more to try before I decide to give up and pack it in. Never had this much trouble with my other phone...
SOLVED!!!

AT&T Billing with Market

Did a search but couldn't find anything.
How can I get the AT&T Billing option in the Market? I have tried v1.8.2 and v2.2.7 and no luck. Do I need a new Vending.apk?
Running N1 rooted with Cyanogen Mod 6.1.
Thanks!
wow really no one?
I would assume it's already enabled, but it may take some time for the devs to add the feature to their upload...
I use T-mo, and the ability to bill your carrier is only available on some apps, not all...

No one replied because no one can help you.
The update hasn't rolled out to the public yet.
Also, why don't you just use Google check out? What is so hard about that?

Then how does he pay his AT&T bill? Mails them a check every month?
danger-rat,
Are you saying you have AT&T billing as a payment option?
No, I have t-mo.
My point was supposed to be that with t-mo billing, it is implemented on an app by app basis, so it may just be that there aren't any apps that support AT&T billing yet...

Right exactly. Also known as the Fortune 100 company I work for paying my bill, cocksucker.
BTW I know it's not enabled for all apps. Tried an app that I know is enabled and also over 3G so that it reads the MNC/MCC and still no operator billing.
Thanks for the help all! (except that useless Canadian ****).

[Q] HTC One 801e LTE?

Hi all,
am really stumped here and can't work out whether the One 801e has LTE or not. I mean, I've done tons of research and various sites say different things. I'd like to buy an unlocked 64gb but I want to know if it has LTE or not which for me is a deal breaker. Please answer if you're absolutely sure and without a single doubt in the world! :good:
Thanks

So, do you think it's just a question of installing the 801n radios? I mean, is it really that easy? Thanks for clarifying this

Not easy, but there is weak possibility to activate LTE
Would it not be easier to see excactly what variant the 801e has? Fastboot and it states at the top under 'Locked'.
See this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2223236&highlight=variant
Hi! Provide me a dmesg, logcat or the file from /proc/last_kmesg & /proc/kmesg

[Q] Business PRL for the M8?

Does anyone happen to have PRL 52100 to upload? I'm going away this weekend to an area where there's only Verizon roaming. Would be nice to have 3G instead of 1xRTT.
I saw it on Captain Throwback's Signature and figured it was the Business PRL. If you read this post captain throwback, could you please create one of your PRL threads on the M8 forum like the other forums do? =P
I have 51100, and I believe this is for non-business accounts.
Thank you!

I was running 56018.PRL and I believe it was roaming on VZW. You just might not get Spark with it.
But my first phone broke and I have not been brave enough to run it again just yet.
52098.PRL is available too and may just be an earlier version of 52100.PRL
Either might be good enough to get by for the weekend.

I was running 56018 with my M7 as well.
I did a search for 52098 on the forums but didn't see it posted anywhere, or maybe I didn't search in the right forum.
Any idea where it would be posted?

Old ROM request: wcx sense 3.6

Hey all, just wondering if anyone has the zip file of wild child's ROM lying around. The website has been down for months now, no sign of coming back up (I have been registered for a while, but that didn't help now). I did find an old nand backup of it, but as one might expect, it experiences issues that are likely due to changes in my file system.
I'm also open to any ideas of somehow building the ROM back up from said backup.

I have a copy. Sort of...
I can't remember why they are called "mod". I had flashed this to my Canadian Vivid (HTC Raider) and didn't use it for too long. These copies were passed on to me by another forum member (as back in that day, WCX's roms were not to be posted here). I remember him telling me that the difference between "old" and "new" are simply design features. If he/she objects to me posting these, I will have to take them down (I asked via PM a few days ago and haven't received a response yet).
***** file links no longer available, sorry

thank you! This is fantastic! If I remember correctly, mod meant that WC had the phone overclocked, or was using a different kernel or something.

Also remember that wcx rom was different from the others. I think kernel had to be flashed manually / separately regardless of bootloader unlock/s-off status.

I already downloaded both roms, so I got what I had come for, but might I ask why they would be removed? Does the original author need to be the one to post it, or is it the bad blood that happened between the author and xda before I joined?

If you read the OLD threads in development... You'll see a lot of entitled users demanding things...

I'm sure if one of his 'guys' sees this... The links will be removed and the poster will be banned from his forum...

My apologies for bumping up a rather old thread, but I've not really found anything more recent. I'll reiterate the request that was originally posted: does anyone have a copy of the old WCX Illuminati ROM for the HTC Vivid? It was the first one I ever used, and I've gone through several others since then, but frankly none of them worked as well as that one did... but sadly I can't find a copy of it anymore.
If necessary, please feel free to PM me with a link, to avoid posting a 'live' link.
