Guys noticed theres an OTA update from .350 to .434
Will doing this update remove my current root of the stock Rom?

Sv: Will updating OTA remove root?
Probably, but just re-root using current root methods.

It might also remove your recovery. But your bootloader will be untouched.
Will have to leave it for a few days. Don't have a Windows PC with me to do it.

Yes, you will lose root with any official update completed using cable and pc

Is there anyway to force an OTA update?

Not sure with lt30a, check the forum threads and see if something is there

Does this mean I could keep root when *not* using cable, but OTA?
Additionally I have SuperSU with root survival mode which is my last hope to keep root...
Thanks

Use Helium (Carbon) or titanium backup to backup your apps.
Settings are also saved?

make a backup atleast before you try if you are concerned
i went from the 4.1.2 tmobile branded to .67
it seems to have broken the tethering portion of settings (i didn't wipe data)
probably going to do a fresh flash to .67 before 4.3 or 4.4 comes out.
I think I will wait for the newer android update, I know there was a flashing method to keep your apps and settings. I got my backup so try it later when 4.3 or 4.4 is released.
Thanks for the quick replies!
I want to root my Xperia sp without unlock bootloader. But I i'm waiting for the 4.3 update, if I root now in 4.1, I can update on pc companion?? After the update, I will lose the root?? Or I wait the update to root on 4.3??
(sorry for my bad english, i'm from Brazil)

U can root and wait for the update. After the update u lose root and must root again

Yes that's actually right but you can try prevent it with the option survival mode in SuperSU. This should keep root.

Seen this app that can root phone easily without downgrading and any hard stuff that most of us don't want to risk so can anyone update that app so that it can root our 4.4 kit Kat update

No. It doesn't work like that. A new exploit has to be found to root KitKat. It isn't just a matter of updating existing tools.

I hope one develops a method to do so for even bl phones skipping the downgrading and unlocking process

The OTA will fail, because your bootloader is unlocked.

Better flash ftf with flashtool or use SUS and always backup you data before try them :good:
