Hi all,
I have a small problem with my Xperia Z
I've rooted and installed CWM recovery, where everything worked, ran
and problem going on.
but then I wanted to install FXP213, contrary to the intall manual (shame on me), I have elected to install CWM from sdcard, and installed.
The unit was on the date:
- rooted
- Bootloader unlock allowed no
- CWM recovery installed
now it will not boot, when pressing the power button, it vibrates once briefly
when pressing the power button + volume up, it vibrates briefly and then three times in succession
on pc it is not recognized
there's a possibility the unit to reset this or is only the attempt to ask it to send in for warranty?
thanks in advance
greeting Joe
Flash a ftf file with flashtool

Hey guys,
i had installed TWRP and flashed Excelsus 1.2.2 onto my phone.
Still on a locked bootloader.
When i went to restore my phone.
It restarted and is stuck on the SONY screen and the notification LED is red.
I've tried to connect it to flashtool, but it does not connect.
Tried the power + volume up button for 10 seconds [vibrates once + restarts]
Tried the power + volume up button for 15 seconds [vibrates thrice + restarts]
Tried the power + volume down button [nothing happens]
I can't shut down the phone.
and the Sony Update tool does not detect the phone.

Press power + volume buttons, let it to vibrate thrice and after vibrating thrice immediately release your hand from phone or maybe you could release it while in second vibration itself, this allows the mobile to switch off. Now you can go to flashtool, connect it in flash mode and flash stock firmware. I had this problem yday and I used this method to switch it off!
sorted it out.
I don't really know what i did though.
used Flashtool to flash the stock firmware onto the phone.
still didn't start.
Plugged in my phone a couple of times.
each time i did another driver would install.
i had already installed the Flashtool drivers.
after the last driver installed, the phone started up

Hi, I seem to be having the same problem, accidently flashed the wrong kernel on my xperia Z with stock jellybean 4.3 in hopes of rooting it but now it just gets stuck on sony logo. Could you direct me to the thread where you said you helped a guy with a similar problem? Can't seem to find it.. :good:
Thanx
Hello,
I have a problem with my Xperia Z. I was trying to flash boot.img from the PAC-rom right after unlocking my bootloader. I rebooted after unlocking, powered off back to fastboot, but i forgot to turn on usb-debugging (for which i gave myself a lot of facepalms). Then i flashed the boot.img, rebooted in the hope of getting to TWRP-recovery, nut i had to give myself another facepalm. The device is on, at least, the backlight is on, but i have a black screen. Power button does nothing, held it for at least 30 secs but still nothing.
Can anyone please help me?
Thanks in advance

Hard power off by pressing Power and Volume up together until the phone vibrates three times.
Download a kernel with recovery, and flash it. Now you will have a kernel, with recovery, no rom, though. I think I never had the need to enable USB debugging. That's on OS level, fastboot is on bootloader level if I'm not mistaken.
Just in case, you enter recovery by pressing volume up after the purple light while phone is booting. After that, you can flash whatever from recovery.
IF you stil have troubles, flash stock using EMMA Flashtool and start over. Read the instructions carefully.
Press power + volume up for 15 seconds till you have 3 vibrations, this will shutdown your phone.
To access to recovery you have to press volume down several times while booting and when you see the led.
You can go back stock using flashtool.

Thanks guys, got it working on that pac-rom now
Please read the whole thing before replying - there's a lot of detailed information here:
I stock flashed using Sony PC Companion, which updated me to 757. Full stock, no root or anything, and flashed over my custom recoveries and what not. I did this so I could get to a pure stock device and try downgrading and rooting all over again, thinking I messed up somewhere along the way.
After installation was successful of 757, I used v.9.15 Flashtool to downgrade to 534, and then used vRoot to root the device. I installed the 121-BETA of the Z1 XZDR directly from NUT's page, and it was successful. No errors in the output or anything. First boot into recovery was also fine. I rebooted the device, and it asked me if I wanted to disable the default flash recovery, to which I said YES (it said it was recommended). Phone booted fine at this point into 534.
I powered off the device and waiting about a minute before proceeding, in an attempt to get back into recovery (to confirm everything was fine), so I could flash the 757 root package also from NUT. Volume Up + PWR or Volume Down + PWR, to get into CWM or TWRP (respectively), none worked. Just continued on its merry way into 534.
I don't know what's gone on. I've had significant difficulties since this 757 update, as I was on 681 prior and all was working well. Volume buttons let me enter recovery, nothing was funky. As soon as I installed the 757 update with the 121-BETA of the dual recoveries, everything went wonky.
How do I fix this? I need access to recoveries so I can install the 757 update and stripped package.
Device Info
Device is currently rooted on 534
It's the 6906 variant
Only stock programs are installed/updated
I've removed any bloatware I could with the system uninstall app (not TiBu'ed or Frozen or anything).

I don't know you but I don't boot into recovery like you explained. Volume Up + PWR will shot down your phone and Volume Down + PWR do not work.
I telling you how I do; Shotdown my Phone, Power Button, 1 vibration, leave the phone alone, it will appear the SONY logo, then a Green led will show up and in that moment I use Push Volume Down to enter in TWRP or Volume UP to enter in Philz.
It working without any issues.
Wait for the led coloursv and the double vibrate before pressing the volume keys. It seems you are using the wrong key combination to enter recovery

Wow, that worked.. Any idea when that was changed?
I used to be able to hold the button down during power press and it booted into recovery..
It has never changed, not in all the years I have been doing it....

I tried that many times and couldn't repeat that combo (power + down) probably because it's combo, it's not one button.
Especially if you tried to get into recovery using power + vol up - it'll just hard reboot, nothing else...
And yeah...I'm quite sure you hade to select "no" in recovery question...

Hey there,
I followed the guide on XDA to root my Xperia SP with the Towelroot app. The guide is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2783885
I then rebooted my phone into recovery, and flashed the latest build.
I rebooted the phone and downloaded the latest Cynagonenmod 12.1 nightly build for the Xperia SP. Once downloaded I wiped my phone and installed the ROM using the TWRP recovery that I'd installed before. At that point I powered off the phone whilst I downloaded the Gapps package on my PC.
When I returned to my phone to try and turn it on nothing happens. It won't turn on or even load the splash screen when I press the power button.
When I hold the power button , the phone vibrates and nothing more! The reset button on the back of the phone does nothing either unless the phone is plugged into a PC. Even then, the phone vibrates 3 times but still won't turn on properly.
I have gone through the Flashroot tutorials over the last 3 hours trying to solve this problem but I've had no success.
I have found that if I hold the volume key down and connect the phone to the PC then the green light appears on the bottom bar of the phone for a period of about 40 seconds before turning off again. It then turns back on and repeats the process.
I am unsure what to do next. Sorry for the long post.
Any help is much appreciated!!
Flashtool progresss
Sorry for the bump but if this helps anyone that could potentially help me. Here is what happens when I try to use Flashtools to flash a stock ROM onto the Xperia SP.
EDIT: Don't worry I solved the problem. I instead used the PC Companion tool to recover my phone and it worked a charm!
I realised the mistake I made. I tried to install Cyanogen Mod 12.1 without an unlocked bootloader which is what likely caused the brick.
Hello my name is Bob and this is my first thread, unfortunately its me asking for help so not really a great start.
Getting to the point however, i installed a 3rd party app which allowed me to change the font of my Sony Xperia Z1 after i did this and it reboot my phone it got stuck in a bootloop.
When i power up my phone i get the following occurences Sony Xperia start screen followed by POWERD BY android and it reboots the phone repeating the process.
My phone is ROOTED, my bootloader is LOCKED, i do not have RECOVERY.
C6903, stock rom
Things i can do with the phone;
Plug it in my laptop and have it show %charged
Plug it in my charger and have it show %charged
Go into fastboot*bluelight* by pressing the volume up button and plugging it into my laptop
Shut it down by pressing the power button + volume up
Go into bootloop by pressing the power button
Edit1: I do not care about wiping all date if necessary or possible!
Edit2: Flashtool, usb debugging off
Edit3: Currently using Sony PC Companion to force re-flash stock
Edit4: Finishing using Sony PC Companion software update, updated to version; 14.6.A.1.236-R2D, currently booting up phone*purple start screen*
Edit5: Phone is working, lost root
Any help would be much appreciated!
Well my opinion always when you root your phone install Recovery
Very important for something like this
*.Font Changer app don't work on Xperia Device (maybe because of Sony company)
If you wanna still want to change fonts there is thread about zip fonts to flash it on your device (it's working great)
And if you got bootloop again just flash rom Through flashtool no need to be USB Debugging on ( just enter flashMod and flash Rom)
And it's good to hear you solved the problem
