Is there an app out there that can show the different temperature sensors all at the same time on the p1000 / p1c models ?
ie. cpu + battery + maybe ambient if it has one

As far as I know our milestone has two temperature sensors, one located in ak8973 compass (the reading of this sensor is called "battery temp" by SetCPU) and another located in OMAP3430 itself. By default we cannot access the latter sensor, but several droid custom kernels support reading it.
Is it possible to compile a kernel module with support for cpu temp despite the locked bootloader?
Droid owners found cpu temps to be only a few degrees higher than battery temps but milestone is a different phone (just look at milestone motherboard photos by FCC and compare it to the droid teardown images).
What is everyone using that shows applications and percentage of battery used for each one?
Hey everyone,
I seem to be having an issue with the battery temperature sensor. It will always say 30 Celsius even if I can feel the heat of the battery through the case. Is this a known issue with the tabs? Using sensor test, I can see that a temperature sensor works and is constantly updating, showing temps from 30C to 40C. I'm running stock rooted EC02 with KhasMek Voodoo Plus OC 1.4Ghz.
Thanks for your help.

There are 2 main reasons for a constant temperature:
1- A third-party battery is used which have its temperature sensor removed, you will usually see 0.1 variations, like 30.0 and 30.1 at all times. or more often 25.0 and 25.1 (not sure why though).
2- the ROM or kernel is broken with regards to providing temperature to battery apps. Battery apps get temperature from Android OS using well documented API, which have not changed since the very beginning of Android. See here for more information about the API: http://developer.android.com/reference/android/os/BatteryManager.html
Unfortunately it seems to affect a few ROMs now-a-days.
EDIT: Are you using a S3 with CM-based or OMNI (AOSP-based) ROMs?
Ok so in CPUz and aida64 there is no thermal data related to the cpu at all. Cpuz says "No thermal data" and aida64 only displays the battery temp.
Tried a battery monitoring app called gsam and its stuck on calculating usage since hours.
Is something wrong with the phone or is this a common software issue? Thanks.
Edit: samsung members app says the sensors are OK, dont know if that includes cpu temp sensors.
Hi,
I think this is a common issue on Samsung phones, my S8 had the same problem on stock, but when I was using custom kernel, the thermal data was present...
I think Sammy want us not to see the catastrophic temperature when we are hardly using the phone, even if it is not so catastrophic...

On the S9 the Exynos models wouldn't show Cpu Temps so maybe it's the same with the S10. My S10 Snapdragon shows them so by any chance do you have an Exynos model?

Yes, it's exynos.
Eynos had cpu so hot. There only way to show it (right direct number) is phone info *samsung* app (with root). Other way is use custom kernel. Sammy really want to hide it from user or they too embarrassing when compare with snapdragon version.
Sr for my bad English
Hello guys, the exynos s21 ultra had a powersaver bug which "overclocked" the cpu and gpu and you would be able to reach higher benchmark scores and also better stabiltity, it it fixed now? The bug only ocurs when you use powersaver mode.

No clue I have snapdragon version but check out samsung labs they support changes to the temp control and a few other things to help with issues
