[HELP] Stock Google rom - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Everyone!
I recently bought this phone but I was wondering if there is any stock Google rom available for it. I just want the untouched original Android experience without any bloatware, launchers and themes.
I fell in love with the design of the Xperia Z that's why I bought it. The Sony UI isn't really bothering me because it's very minimalistic, but I rather have stock Android. (No CM etc)
Please keep me posted!

[Q] XZ vs SGS3 LTE

Hi, I'm thinking of changing my SGS3 LTE for the Sony Xperia Z. What's the dev support like? It seems slow? The main reason I want to move from SGS3 LTE is due to slow support from dev community and Samsung not playing nicely with the XDA dev community. Are things better with the Xperia Z? Also, how is the phone's performance and what is stock like (also, rooted stock variants)? And battery life? I'm keen for some feedback from you guys, the user base!

Look at my phone history, I had an SGS3 LTE before my XZ. Yes, the development is miles ahead! Not only that, but the stock OS on the XZ is miles ahead of TouchWiz, it's actually the only OEM skin I've seen which I could argue looks better than AOSP.
But if we're speaking strictly AOSP, you will not be disappointed. This is as much a Google Experience device as you can get without actually being a Google Experience device (IMHO, the XZ is more of a Google Experience than the HTC One or SGS4 since we have the soft buttons and they have hardware buttons).
Comparison threads are not allowed.

[Q] Samsung Multiwindow?

With all due respect to the developers and sorry for my bad english... I love my Xperia Z and am very happy with it.Mi next purchase will be the Xperia Z1 but both are missing something very important in my opinion when compared to Samsung. Is there a way to port the Samsung Multiwindow? Is possible to develope an application that works as well as this? I know there are some applications in the Play Store but they are far from the functionality offered by Samsung.

its not possible as it requires touchwiz framework.
there is one called onskreen cornerstone, but the development seems to be dead. and no one ported it to AOSP.

anyway check this out.. AOSP rom with multi window feature (on the screenshot)
Thanks a lot.
Hey yeah im intrested in that im pretty sure you can take the files from firmware on my Samsung and push then to the firmwear folder in anyrom ( but maybe im thinking too too simple ( screw Samsung as its all being given out for free they can't stop us, )maybe its illegal to cheery pick for samsung offical stuff, right well im going to try this whrn my new laptop arrives, but ill need brave souls too test it, ( probably gonna be cm with samsung firmware cheery picked, tell me now if its futile,
Xposed Framework mod

This mod looks like the sony small apps, but than just regular apps. Not ideal, but comes close
You do need to install xposed framework first though.
Xmultiwindow is also an option these days. Still beta so don't expect it to work perfectly. For example you can only open two pages at once when you're not on your launcher bit already in an app.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Grand OS Running on Sony Xperia Z

hi! everyone.
I have a friend who just bought Xperia Z.
He is just crazy about getting the Samsung Galaxy Grand OS on it.
I guess I probably need Samsung Galaxy Grand OS running on Sony Xperia Z.
I have told him that Sony Xperia Z is superior to Samsung Galaxy Grand OS in terms of security and user interface and features. But, He is kinda fallen in love with the Samsung Galaxy Grand Interface.
Is it possible to put an original ROM from Samsung Galaxy Grand OS.
I guess I would first need to root Sony Xperia Z and then probably take a Nandroid backup and probably put a custom boot loader in case something goes wrong I can bring it back.
Here's some details about the OS on Xperia Z.
Model Number C6602; Android Version 4.3, Kernel Version 3.4.0-g1b44cd5; Build Number 10.4.B.0.569
Any help is appreciated.
why are there always people putting questions into the general area? lol...i mean, the Q/A area isn't hidden
Dude q&a man and I have never heard of putting a rom from one phone onto another. Im no dev but judging from the problems stock ROMs gives phones it'll be damn near impossible to get a pure Galaxy Rom running on our device. Besides XDA always warns users not to flash things that don't pertain to your specific phone

You my friend have been fooled.. He's probably using a Samsung theme with a few Samsung app ports. It isn't hard.

No
Not possible, just forget about it. Would need some serious porting, I could imagine.
It's funny that he wants the Samsung look... I mean.. I'm all for respecting different taste and preferences but the way Samsung makes their android look is pretty damn dull and tasteless, if you ask me. HTC Sense has its positive sides but no one makes it as slick looking as Sony, if you ask me. Although I prefered the old dark style over the light "Honami"/4.3 look.
not possible as you need touchwiz framework and libs. that actually won't happen sorry
+2
I dont even think it would technically be called porting if thats done... More like creating it from scratch...which would be totally stupid by the way.

why buy a Sony phone when you're a Samsung fanboy?
Your friend's best option is to return the XZ and buy a Samsung Galaxy phone.
In future I'll remember to post in Q&A.
Thanks for everybody's answer.

Xperia Z3-like theme/launcher

im wondering if an app/theme is already available to customize the sony ui of xperia z2 to match the new sony ui of xperia z3. if there is, where can i find it? and how to apply? thanks
What new UI?
There's no new UI.
Same old Xperia UI.
Sony will (probably) wait next big Android version to change it.
And that will, most likely be Xperia Z4 powered by Android L.

Not just it's not Z3 ROM - it's work full of half true info. (Z3 camera or DSEE sound processing for example)
I won't go into details, who likes that ROM - there's a link
Also, there's no such thing like Z3 ROMs on Z2, there are ports but even then that's not Z3 ROM.
Base can't be from anything else but Z2.
You can't use kernel or files that aren't ported and built for specific device...

Hehe lets say it is half rom
It's certainly a ROM, what I wanna say is - that's still Z2 ROM only with Z3 apps.
Same thing Niaboc did few years ago for Xperia S.
He modified UI to look like Honami style and he ported apps to work on XS.
The thing is that this ROM claims it has Z3 camera bur nope. There's only camera UI from Z3.
Also, they are claiming they added DSEE - not true as well.
Sony released sources today or yesterday and, there's still no working DSEE port.
Maybe we won't get that at all, apparently, there are hardware limitations.
Or precisely, Sony added hardware converter and there's no way to reproduce that.
I said APARANTLY - that's not confirmed yet.
But if you find that ROM is good for you then who cares what I'm talking about..
Most important is that you like it

[Q] Is there any news on a Xperia SP SONY kitkat 4.4 rom?

Hi guys,
I would like to ask if there is any new Xperia SP rom featuring Sony's apps, framework, theme, etc (Like xperia z2/3 stock rom) and running on Kitkat 4.4.4?
I'm really sad that there aren't many developers anymore who want to create this I'm sick of 4.3
Anyway thanks for reading!
My friend have LG G2 and use Cloudy G3, ported G3 rom with all features from G3....Does it have way to port Xperia M2/E1/E3 or Z series 4.4 for SP with all features
that would be great, but i think our device isn't that popular and there are no many devs interested to do this...

Of course it is capable... But sony gives us semy-finished android 4.3, i would be more than happy if we have good android 4.3, but we havn't... There are a lot worse phones that are runing stock 4.4.4...
I have never flashed so many roms on one phone and still no good rom with normal ram management and without home redraw...
Now i give up and go on official cyanogenmod and hopes for best...
I think cyanogenmod is last station until i got money for nexus 5 or something similar... ☺
Little off topic but i must say all that...
Sorry for my bad english...
Edit: one more thing...if our developers knew that there will not be an official kit kat maybe they would do more to port stock 4.4.4...we al waited for official and when our device get old SONY decided that we ar not capable... Uh...

I couldn't say it better myself! I love Sony but when I heard of abandoned Kitkat update, it felt like a knife in my back... The reason I'm not going for Cm 11 (or 12) is that I'm really used to sony's interface and apps :/ So it's kind of a bummer that we have to stick witch (good) 4.3 roms...
There should be a way to get people more attracted making SP roms...
And cool! Love the nexuses!
