well my question is , do you know if it's in the work?
do you think it will be possible in the near future to desimlock the Xperia Z?
did someone managed to have a code via an online site ?
and how much it cost you if so...
thanks!
I would like to know to, mine is turning up tomorrow on EE (UK). I have seen loads of sites offering it around $40 for the code but i would like a trusted site which people have tried/tested
so...I guess it's not possible judging by the lack of answers...

If you mean the Xperia Z instead of the "XZ" which was posted above, then it is of course possible. However, I'm slightly unsure which phone you are referring to?

For those of you who have bought a Sony Xperia T or TL what is the best feature of the phone? What makes it stand out over other phones? I'm currently considering switching from my iPhone 4S to an Android for more storage and the TL looks like an inexpensive option for a mid to high end replacement. I've heard the Walkman app is good and so is the album app but for those of you who use it as a daily driver what stands out to you?
Thread moved. Please post in the correct section of the forum. Questions belong here in Q&A.
Thanks

My bad...but now that it's in the right section maybe I'll get some answers.
I just wonder T and Tx what is difference?
I am in usa if I buy tx it is working on tmobile 3g?

Also, a phone that just works and a OEM who actually seems to have an idea what customers want. You want root so unlock the bootloader officially, you want your WiFi to turn off automatically when away from home so you don't chug the juice, you want an excellent camera, good DLNA functionality, Walkman music player, etc? Xperia T ticks the boxes.
I've been a huge fan of Samsung phones for a while but hated the camera performance so made the jump from my Note to the Xperia T. Best decision I ever made!
Also, the Note forum was really whiny and full of challenge and angst. The Xperia guys to date seem really helpful and much more friendly.
If I helped, hit Thanks!

It's market dependant, if you're in the US I think it's the TX there. Here in europe they sell the T, TX is unavailable.
Just ask your seller before but it should be ok.

Also battery drain is very low compared to Xperia S, I can use it for 1 day + with a charge, with the XS I need to charge it twice a day with moderate use !
Hello friends,
I own a Xperia Arc S and would like to upgrade. But not shure whether to get Xperia T or TX
Xperia T have good ROM support over here whereas TX doesnt.
According to me TX looks better though.
I know the actualy difference between them but would like to know lil more from users.
So i need your help guys in deciding as it is a big investment and dont want to regret later in future.
I went through many threads but couldnt find my answers.
Any help is appreciated
Thank You
I got the T, and never once missed the removable battery, off not I really like non removable battery, it is a little bit bigger, and hard reboot is done with button combo.

The real big selling point of T is it's LTE capability but provided your carrier also supports it. Otherwise just get the TX, it slightly looks better plus battery is removable.
Btw, the TX has the CyanogenMod support now also like the T.
Tapatalked from my TX
yea i was wondering about the hard reboot too..normal we just remove the battery to restart. But always wondered what non-removable battery mobile ppl do..
I have one more doubt. Cant we flash T ROM on TX just like we do in Arc forum. Arc S ROMs can be flashed on Arc with lil patch.
For ICS ROMS that is indeed possible, the patch isn't there (yet) for JB

So TX users haven't enjoyed the taste of sony JB yet?
There is a thread very similar to this already.
If I recall correctly, the only differences were the T has better rom support, LTE capability, and a bigger battery, while the TX has a removable (but less capacity) one.
yes i went through many threads but couldnt find my answer correctly.
Hope TX ROM support really picks up. Bad thing is that launch of xperia Z is around the corner and many ppl will go for that instead of xperia T or TX and this is surely hit TX development.

thanks for clearing that doubt..so frankly speaking for which device should i go for? I know it will be my decision in the end but I at a point where i can go for any device..so confused..
So ROM support wise =T
Design and look wise = TX?
battery wise = TX?
overall = ?!?!

Battery wise I would say T, since it has a bigger battery.
Design, in my opinion, T
Screen wise, tx does seem a little clearer, but only if you have touch firmware B
Rom support, definitely T
Overall: T

I've had mine since October, and it's like brand new (and I don't use any case). Perhaps there was a faulty batch.

XV is not available in India yet
as of now only T and TX are available..
Its really sad how Sony are slow to launch a product in India even when they know India is one of the biggest and important market.

I have the Xperia TL lt30at, I LOVE it . Sadly though, it cannot be rooted because bootloader unlock allowed is set to no:crying:. I was given 2 weeks to try this phone out which will be up this friday and I would like to get a phone that can be rooted and is on par or better than the TL. I also have this thing called "trade up" which allows me to trade in my phone for 75% (300$) of its value (400$) credit towards a new phone at any time. So I can trade in for the Z if/when it comes out for AT&T if/when it comes out in the US. What on AT&T market right now for 400$-500$ should I grab? I'm new to Android from iOS and jailbreaking and the TL is my first android and I have loved it. So XDA, please help me out a bit and toss your opinions around. I will give thanks to all who give informative :good: and helpful replies and none to those just being dicks .
Thanks guys.

Samsung SIII? Similar feature-wise, but slightly bigger. Has LTE and is available through At&t, and also apparently has a big dev community for AOSP, but if you purchase from at&t, it may be a special version in which the bootloader has been locked down. I guess you'd have to do some sleuthing in regards to that. You could always just return your TL to at&t and get an unlocked SIII from a third party; that way you'd know that you'd be able to unlock it...
Thanks for the reply

I considered the SIII but the colors are a bit too saturated and the price tag was just a bit too high for me. Thanks for the response though.
LT30at can be rooted just not bootloader unlocked. Z will not be available on at&t.

That's the root method to use but you have to install the backup and restore app manually before you do it since at&t removed it from their firmware.
Sent from my Sony Xperia™ Z
If you really want to switch, I'd say go for an HTC One VX/X possibly the white X. The sounds are much better and the phone feels just sexy in your hand! But you will have a mainstream 8MP camera (if you are concerned about it). I will not recommend Pantech as they are relatively new in the high end smartphone business AFAIK. Buying an Ion will actually be kind of a downgrade from the T. LG is not too durable and the Samsung devices that you have mentioned here seem to be a little outdated. AFAIK.
Thanks for the input man. I like the HTC but the screens seem a bit off colored in pictures compared to the bravia screens. What do you think?
I can't find how to install it manually. Any guides you could direct me to? Sorry in advance if it's staring me in the face and I'm blind.

Download the apk for backup and restore. (it's in the link I posted above) Enable unknown sources in your android settings and when you open the apk it will offset you the option to install.

I figured it out with a little more help from a buddy. Thanks so much for all the help and patience. Any suggestions on what to do with a rooted phone? I have lucky patcher for my pandora. What other cool/fun stuff do you suggest? I may just hang in to my TL and trade up when the Z hits at&t. Not sure though

I mainly rooted to remove the bloatware AT&T apps ( but now I use the LT30p firmware so no bloatware from AT&T). Z will not be available through AT&T, would have to get it unlocked instead.
Greetings everyone!
I need some help. I purchased Sony Xperia Z1 while traveling in China. The model number is L39h, which I believe to be exactly the same as C6902. Is there a way to 'turn' it into the international version? Just changing the language doesn't remove all the Chinese bloatware apps and such. Will changing my firmware work?
Thank you in advance,
Best regards!

Hmm... You should be able to flash it without any problems... They're technically the same from what wikipedia also says... Its just one has chinese specific bloat... Don't take my word for it though..Do a bit more research but I think you should have no issues flashing this...

I believe the Xperia Z uses a different screen hardware to the Z1 so this may not be possible.
