As you can see in the picture, I use that as a wallpaper. I was wondering, is there a way I can make the cat picture part as a live wallpaper and the bottom and top (gray) part to stay still? I was thinking about having the top and bottom (gray) part as a widget, the cat part I can use transparent and save it as png?

I keep the top part. And the multi picture live wallpaper (app on Play)
Makes it seem like sections collapse/expand when clicking on them
Try it out

Mind telling me which one?
Kind of found a solution. using uccw, I create a new skin, add the gray part (with cat picture removed), but I can't expand my image fully.
as you can see in the pic, it won't expand to the very left and right...
For edge to edge you will have to experiment and also use a launcher that supports it. See the big UCCW2 thread. Many people in there willing to help.

I actually like the color blue that Moto has used in theming the D3. One thing that is missing in my humble opinion is a decent wallpaper that goes with this. I tried the stock ones and nothing hits the spot. I am wondering if any of you out there are like I am. If you have something that works please let me know. I am very interested in finishing this off.
Try 'Xperia Play Wallpapers' from the market. It has a nice blue one I used for a while.

Here's mine that I whipped up in PhotoShop. Don't ask how I did it 'cause I can't tell you. This was my first time using PS, with the aid of a few YouTube videos.
If you'd like the original, I'll PM you a direct link to my PhotoBucket. It's an enormous image so that when cropped by the D3 "ANDROID" fills the home screen as shown.

But that comes with these same wallpapers. That would be redundant.

Very nice.

Haven't tried installing but the screen shots seem off. The actual live wallpapers in ICS do not look like that...
EDIT: Just realized that the OP never said anything about these being the screen shots from ICS, they simply have the same names..

I could be wrong but I think what you have a picture of is an app called simi clock. Outside of that, I don't have an answer using min text.
I would say it's very tricky (if not impossible) to create such a look with min text. You would be better off making a custom widget with UCCW. With UCCW, you could just draw a line and adjust angle, thickness, length, colour to how want it then insert the time and date details exactly where you want them. Right tool for the right job.
Just got the update.. Looking nice

It got slower then before.....
And yeah I also get a menu with black text on a grey background
Not exactly material design, but I'll take it. At least it's better than the previous UI.
If this the material design they have got .. then I rather switch old look or switch over to iOS... damn!!!!

Hey guys,
Was wondering if someone could help me out with one of the theme names for the Note 5. It's one of the first few that come up when searching for a black theme, I believe it's something like Black SD or something similar, but it's easy to spot. The black background has the time in multiple colors, and the colors change as time ticks away. Could someone please tell me the name of that theme? I would like to try to apply it or find it for another galaxy I have. I no longer have the 5.
I'd really appreciate it. Thank you!

you can follow Hiten Soni's themes.
It's the one I'm using at the moment. It's simply called sd-black. I switch between it and card UI pretty often. I'm all dark right now and I LOVE the pull down and menus of the sd-black theme. The icons, not so much, but I'm using Nova now so that's a non-issue.
Edge UI is best for me so far
