Hi,
I woke up before my alarm this evening - how the hell?
Anyway, I swiped down the notification to expose the snooze / dismiss options and pressed them both lots of times while going deaf and nothing happened. Tried swiping away the notification and it continued to get louder. Went in to the alarm app and tried unsetting the alarm, by this point the cat was climbing on me clearly trying to help me in my distress. Eventually I clicked the alarm and it opened up the usual swipe left to snooze, right to stop thing that comes up when the phone is locked.
So clearly I failed that test.
However, why wouldn't the two options in the expanded notification work? Are we missing bits still in the port of this app?

Hi all,
I had a problem last night where i was testing out the alarm feature. It went off and a small dialogue box popped up and the left button stated 'dismiss', i clicked somewhere other than those areas and then the alarm bell icon went away and the alarm had entered snooze mode - it kept going off every minute or something and there was no way to turn it off.
can anyone shed some light on this if the icon disappears?
also how can i change the alarm tone? going into the sounds and notifications option i get:
''Enable sounds for:
- Events
- Programs:
--Notifications (alarms, reminders)
- Screen taps
- Hardware buttons''
on the second tab called notifications
theres options for ''Event'' allowing to choose an event to assign a sound for it. Theres no Even called alarm or notification but there is one for Reminders. I changed the reminders tone but still that didnt change the alarm tone that went off.
seems the alarm hasnt had much focus during implementation.
thanks,
simba
Change the alarm tone directly on the Clock & Alarms screen. Just tap the little yellow bell thing.
perfect thanks! i didnt know the wee bells were selectable for more features.
anyone else know the solution to the other query?

Click to collapse
the exact same thing happened to me too. feels like another bug.
I have an alarm set to wake me up in the morning. The phone is set to ask for an unlock code, so over night the lock sets.
In the morning when the alarm goes off, there is no way to dismiss it. First I have to thumble with the dark keypad to try and enter a code, then I have to try and press that little alarm icon at the top of the screen, then the screen changes to the large task bar icons, then I press the alarm icon, and then, finally the balloon comes up so I can dismiss the bloody alarm.
Its a great thing though as I am fully awake by the time I've finished messing with it, but then I am grumpy for the whole morning.
How can I get a dismiss/snooze alarm option on the locked screen like I get with WM 5?
Start > Settings > Sounds & Notifications choose the notification tab and in the "Event" drop down window, choose "Reminders"
You should see an option "Display message on screen" tick it.
Should be able to see the "Dismiss" button now when the alarm goes off.
Don't know if this is already "fixed" in the newest rom version but i did this back when running on the old rom and works fine.
When I set the clock to display the time on the bar at the top, while in a program, it used to display it with the digital time. Then one day it started showing it in analog form, a small clock.
Also I can't seem to get my alarm to pop open a wake up message on the screen (so I can either snooze or dismiss). I used pop up, but now I have to touch the bell sign at the top (which is annoying when you're tired) and then click dismiss.
Any thoughts? I'd greatly appreciate it.
i also has the clock changed fr digital to analog, how to change it back? anyone can help?
tap and hold on the clock on the top bar and when the menu appears, select digital.
as for the alarm thing, I dunno. I haven't had that problem just yet...Although I'm sure someone round here will have the answer for you.
When I set up my alarm in the morning, its ringing but the alarm screen is not popping up so, in order to dismiss it, I must open it from the upper menu, tap on bell icon and only then it pops up and I can dismiss it. Any way, registry change, to make the alarm screen pop up on the main screen while initially ringing in the morning? Thanks
That happens when the device turns off(after N minutes). When you turn it on again the popup window gets hidden and the only way to restore it is doing what you mention...
Hi there!
I'm having this problem since a few days. I tried tu reboot the device with no changes.
My alarm, which every day wakes me up, always showed the notification on the screen, you know, with the snooze and stop buttons in the bottom. But now, the notification doesn't appear and I have to press the bell icon on top of the screen to view it...
Any ideas??
Had the same issue and this fixed it.
go into start->settings->sounds and notifications->choose notifications tab on the bottom. In the event dropdown, choose reminders. Make sure "Display message on screen" is checked.
I'm sure this was enabled... Now it's disabled and it solved the problem. Thanks. But I'm wondering how could it be disabled by its own...
