Hi ppl
Is there any way to have all apps installed the way it was before switching to a new rom ? I mean when I try out new roms I have to install all apps again. I've tried my backup pro and titanium but they only restore all apps. Anyone has a faster way of doing this??

I'm using MyBackup root therefor. Here you can restore all apps with the data in batch mode. But I think MyBackup pro should also do it.
Did u backup your apps along with all their data? There is an option in Titanium Backup to do so in the batch option. I still have my high scores of Temple Run
MyBackup Pro seems to be the best bet considering Titanium does create issues for some folks.
But do remember restoring apps can produce errors in the working of the ROM which otherwise wouldn't exist.
Safest best is to clean instal your apps again.
Tx guys but I cannot get all apps installed . It only restores them with their respective data. I don't wanna install all apps again one by one after flashing a new rom

Titanium backup has a batch restore mode where you can restore more than one app at a time. If this is not what you mean, I don't have a clue what you're talking about.
I haven't used titanium but I'll check it out. Just to make sure do the apps get installed or just restored? I mean do I have to hit the install button for every app?

Listen buddy, this is a community here. Respect others to get respect for yourself.
Your posts are quite inconsistent.
In the same thread, at the start of the post you mentioned you have used Titanium & a couple of posts later you state you HAVE NOT yet used titanium.
with incorrect/incomplete info no one would be able to assist you correctly & your frustration levels are going to rise.
@letmedanz I didn't mean to disrespect anyone but the way nonverbose responded wasn't cool.
Anyway what I meant when I said I used titanium was that I installed it and removed it within minutes. But I'm not here to prove anything so am gonna forget it and apologize to whoever I offended.

That's cool buddy..
Anyhow, a couple of options are available...
at most times when you install a fresh rom, android automatically installs the apps you had on earlier.
This happens when you run the new rom for the first time, in the initial setup.
Provided you have synced your phone with your gmail account.
once you provide your wifi and/or apn details android will automatically download and instal all the apps.
your second option is as you mentioned, third party apps like titanium & mybackup pro.
personally, i prefer MBP cos titanium has given me more than one problem.
MBP is a neat app, you can either backup/restore all apps or just select a few.
howevre , i still believe it is best to reinstall all apps after a new rom instal, cos restored apps may force close or have other issues specially if you are changing between GB & ICS etc
+1 for Titanium backup !!!
You can backup personnal applications, but their settings and your system settings too !!!
The retore process is quicker than google process because you haven't to download applications from network.
Settings...Image?

I have titanium backup pro and have not figured out how to restore all the settings. Maybe I'm confused, but I have to spend hours setting all the preferences, screens widgets etc each time I flash a new ROM. I've heard you can "Image" backup. Does Titanium do that?
Go backup and go backup pro is best..It don't prompt to install each and every app every time..batch restore with data..easy than titanium backup..

Make sure you know what you're talking about before you post. Titanium backup pro HAS batch restore mode in which you don't have to INDIVIDUALLY install every app.

You can always do a dirty flash but you run the risk of it failing.
Guys!!
i always appreciate the roms our developers make for us to enjoy our phone all the way more...but i know that JB and sumtimes even GB,not like JB but still lags/hangs/gets stuck..i mean i like the interface and all, of custom roms, but even the stock roms lag, and also in the end its about making calls and using watsapp, well atleast for me...!!!
So,
i wanted to know, is there any direct way install JB on my phone (like the nandroid restore) and as per my comfort, switch back to GB without the need do restoring everything (like we always have to do a factory reset and install all the apps again and restore every data again),
like can i use the nandroid restore to restore back to gb???
another thing is, suppose if i have a nandroid backup of my stock rom, and then i installed slim jb or galaxperia on my phone and want to shift back to stock...can i do the nand restore from cwm/twrp without thinking for a second (i.e. after doing the factory reset)???
From JB custom roms to JB stock, yes. If you have made nandroid backup, you can just restore. From JB to GB I don't think you can. You need to follow the downgrade procedures.
Thnx..and is there a way to get all my apps and data like they were before i installed a new rom
For eg: i have slim jb and want to shift to galaxperia...how can i without loosing the data and apps ( or without fact.reset)...i know i can use titanium but is there any other way of not even deleting them in the 1st place
Sent from my GT-I9070 using xda app-developers app
Well the reason for factory reset is to avoid any complications when switching roms..you can try flashing roms without factory reset but maybe there will be some problems. Therefore it is recommended to do so. As for backup, other that titanium you can just backup data using twrp but I prefer titanium
Guys thanks for the help..appreciate it!!
One more favor please...im currently on DDLK2 indian GB and im thinking of shifting to OmegaRomX by shaan....now i have made a backup of my stock rom using Twrp (system 552mb & data 826mb)..now as the procedure says i will factory reset before rebooting to Omega rom...
I want to ask, is it possible if i restore JUST my Data from backup, on Omegarom...i mean will i get all my apps and their data as it was...and i wont need to download it all again...
Will it work?will it cause any trouble??

Guys, gr8 news by sammy....maybe its old but i found it now...they have released jb (I9070ODDULP8) in india...does that mean its stable???
i am currently on GB...n seriously bored with this phone...are there any lags in using apps and mailnly opening the calling app...in short is it available for daily use!!!
or should i go for the latest russian version released, as russia was the first where jb was released and so i was thinking maybe it would be more stable!!!
you should go for the Indian firmware..it's very good.. battery life is awesome and practically no lags..

there might be.. if you post in Questions & help forum
Why not backup using titanium backup?

Preferred to wipe. Going from 4.1 to 4.2.
As mentioned, titanium backup works like a charm .
Backup, flash, reinstall app, restore data.

I recommend MyBackup. It's the best app I've used to backup my data.
I did just that this morning without loosing anything, I just did install without wipe in aroma and it worked fine, it will leave a mess on your folders, but it works.
i read about probplems when upgrading from 4.1.2 to 4.2.2
i think a fullwipe combined with a titanium backup restore ist the best way and prevent possible trouble. i did it that way and it worked fine for me
Hi,
I wanted to know if the backups made on jellybean firmware are compatible with the 4.4 kitkat firmware.
Or it asks you to make new backups and calls them incompatible as for the 4.2 to 4.3 transition.
Backups made using the Sony Backup Restore App.
Thanks for you time

Incompatible.
Sent from my C6903 using Tapatalk
I would suggest all will be fine
Since that's 2 different bits of advice, just try it and see I think you will find it will be ok
Thanks but I need to be more sure.
I plan to format the phone while updating to 4.4, otherwise I'll have to update--> backup and then format...which is a pain.
Sent from my C6602 using XDA Free mobile app
Im sure .i backed up 4.3 then wiped to 4.4 and back up didnt get accepted. Maybe go titanium backup if u know how to use it but sony back up restore wont wont work. The base xperia apps like.phone contact says xml is incompatible. Maybe third party apps will work but not phone or message app etc.

Hi guys, I finally made the decision to root my z1,but first of all, I need to back it up. Problems are :
1. Sony pc companion backup is cr*p.
2. So I opted to using helium. Now, I got all settings up. Downloaded the pc counterpart of the app, downloaded the Android app from Google store, set up into debug mode. Helium requires my phone on PTP mode, which I do, but 1 second later, it comes back to MTP mode.
Did I miss anything? I tried downloading "drivers" from helium 's suggestions, but the one they have their is older than my SPCC.
Thanks in advance! I really look forward to rooting my device and getting it's benefits. Cheers!

I had the same problem, and I didn't find any solutions (I have Helium Premium). I ended up backing up my phone using Sonys software, just to be on the safe side. Rooting does not wipe your phone (at least not the method I used), but better safe than sorry. Unlocking on the other hand will wipe your phone!
After root, I installed Titanium and made all the backups I wanted. I also installed dual recovery (still without wiping the phone) and made a Nandroid bckup.
Titanium backup always work, use that in the future. It is worth the money, all others I have tried have been of no use

He's right. Move all files from internal memory to the PC and then use titanium backup. It's able to back up your entire phone including the application data. Duh. It can actually backup your entire device with system apps and it's data.
