[Q] JB ROM that support tv out via MHL adapter - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all, sorry for make a new thread about this, but i try to search, but nothing came out.
The question :
I have original mhl adapter by samsung,
Back in ics day (stok rom), this adapter work flawlesly.
Then i think i tried to install custom rom on my note, trying some rom, PA (2 version), and carbon rom, the rom work very good and smooth, but the mhl adapter not work on above rom.
Can someone point me, which rom that work with samsung mhl adapter? Or may be all JB rom not compatible with mhl adapter?
Thanks for the answers guys and sorry about the languange, my english not too good

Basically only the official touchwizz JB roms by samsung will support TV out.
All cm, pa, carbon etc (all those you listed up there) will NOT work, as the sources for tv out don't exist.
I recommend this rom, cuz anything eybee releases is flawless.

CM7.1 is too old.
You can find CM7.2 here. You can use Temasek Kang which is ULTRA stable and works really well.
In fact, I don't miss a stock rom anymore (except the Onscreen Phone). Everything works great (USB, A2DP, compass, 1080p recording, accelerometer, HDMI out, etc.) Make sure to use Temasek's kernel with sensors version. The stock kernel disables the compass in Google Maps. That special version solves the issue.
Cheers!
hi charlie i actually wants stock rom with all stock apps and some cm 7.1 apps and tweaks with sense 3.0 theme, also can you help me, which kitchen this rom developer use so i can also try
You can't use CM7 apps on a stock ROM because they depend on the CM framework, as far as I know.
I mentioned Temasek's CM7.2 KANG because it has all the features you need and is faster and more stable than the stock ROM. all the issues you mentioned were solved long time ago.
You can go back to stock ROM anytime you want with nvflash or smartflash, or simply by restoring your nandroid backup.
Cheers!

He (temasek) builds the cm rom from source. Hard to mix cm and stock.

[Q] USB OTG/HOST for ICS ROM Incredible S

hi cool devs ,
i have read some topics here but wonder if there is already a working kernel for usb host feature for our ICS incredible s.
I have read in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1851121
unfortunately the main contributor is MIA until december he said and might have found a new love for samsung... i guess ... so USB OTG is still for testing
Any update for any USB OTG/HOST for ICS?
Very Supportive ,
Carl
UP...
please
I guess everyone got a new phone. Is it time to dump my incredible S?
I have not made any changes on my phone in terms of rom and other customization other than the official updates.
There are only 2 things that would make me flash my rom. First was already solved during the ICS update which supports the screen capture.
The other one is I do not know if this will happen, The OTG/USB Host support for our phone.
I thought a phone could be more smarter if those two features are there plus the original features which are already there because. Others can be downloaded in the market.
Im rooting for OTG now. It will make our phone very powerful. It could become a CPU + monitor.
OTG
is there any news for otg / usb host?

Samsung S2/S3 Rom on Captivate

Hello ,
few days ago i updated my gf's s2 to new JB that was leaked offical samsung but from odin, then i got an idea, cuz i have Captivate Armani I9010 and i was using Remics JB as last rom, cuz it was look rly nice likly s3 rom, but i didn't like aops dialer layout and some more staff and i got idea of porting S2 or even S3 rom to captivate, and i was playing with some tutorials and android kitchen but without lucky, as I have rly bad knowledge of programing thinks , but I'm trying and want to learn more, my point was that maybe its posible to use some custom aops rom as base(ofc if developer agree) and port s2 rom over, i know that to port stock apk's form s2 that i like i need to port aslo framework, but what else?
Is someone with knowledge are up to help me or take this project if it interesting?
Or if this is totally wrong , what is real way to go of port s2 rom to captivate? I'm sure that its posible i saw some video of s2 rom on i9000 with is pritty much same as capativate. (it was GB i think because video is old) but if it able to port one rom there is no difference but what is good way to start.
I am really sorry about my English , its not my main language, and I am interesting in learning as much as i can about android dev.
Ps. OR mabye it would be easy to just port some of apk instead of porting whole rom. (secphone seclaucher secmms seccontacts systemui etc etc)
Greetings.

The best way to go about porting a ROM would be to ask one of your fav dev and read one hell of a lot!
Theming is fairly easy, you open the app with something like apktool and work your way through (or can use kitchen). As far as porting apps, it would mainly be the framework but you gotta keep in mind functionality that the Cappy doesn't have.
Reading and guides are really your best friends here. It can all be self learnt but it requires a lot of patience, gotta expect some good old headbanging lol
Here's a thread that could help you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=916814
Thanks,
I will probably start with port some apks but, as its not that hard job, but should like to learn how to port rom really i was reading some guides with was like its ok for any phone from same generation cpu like armv7 ported and base rom need to be same version, used same manifecture of device . and what i did used deo-dexed s2 rom JB 4.1.1 official one (aslo found one slimed s2 rom 4.1.1 aslo) and tryed few different as base CM10 for cappy was one of them its 4.1.2 but i think there is no big difference i tryed some 4.1.1 roms as base with was work on phone ok but when i made rom trought those guides its stack on bootanimation and logcat just spam that like every apk die
That was one of guides where it's says that it will work for all stock/cm/aokp roms ICS and JB updated.
There are few really easy steps and what i expected is that phone will boot and will be buggy as **** till a lot of tweaks but it didnt even boot ((
PS. I was looking around and i found that there are some custom rom (this was for s2 ) that are based on samsung base not aokp or cm. And they have all features of custom rom with all stock samsung look witch i like and stock phone/dialer/contact/tw/systemui/ etc etc/
My questions is there mabye that kind of rom for captivate or at least i9000 since i think its easier job to port from i9000 then from s2. And what would be base because last fw for cappy or galaxy s is GB, is there any posiblilty to get ISC or JB samsung based rom on this device?

They can all be ported, it's mostly framework. Although, I never ported a ROM so I'm not the best one to guide you through this. If I'm not mistaken, there are guides in XDA-U. Also, there are quite a few nice Devs around here that could help you through it.
Thanks, I saw some of those guides some are generic some are on example but i for porting samsung (s2) based rom i need to use some jb base for captivate cm or aokp but there some difference when porting roms even if both base and port are same version JB . Cuz they are not on same base. And i hope it is not difficult to make. If it's not hard I would please ask some od dev to give me some guide. On what i have to take care . What to do and i will gief all effort and time to make it working.

Custom ROM with OTG compatibility

Hi guys
I'm using RootBox, cause I'm sick of HTCs sense. I want to use a clean and mostly stable ROM with OTG compatibility. I tried to flash some kernels but I didnt see any useful results. Which kernel can I flash?
I tried this one:
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2301543
Although it meets my requierements, as it says that it supports OTG, it does not work for me. It does not detect the OTG cable after plugging it in.
Thanks and kind regards.
What ROM are you using?Did you tried with stock kernel and rom?Try typing in google something like this "HTC One otg support",i think it will solve your problem...
Well, as I said I'm using vanilla RootBox (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2288736). I want to run a clean vanilla ROM, not stock. OTG works finde under stock ROM but this is not of interest.
I need an AOSP kernel which supports OTG. RootBox is compatible to every AOSP kernel.
Kind regards.
OTG is determined by the Kernel not the ROM (correct me if I'm wrong). So basically you can use any ROM you want and then flash another kernel on top of that.
I have ARHD 9.4 (stock OTG support) in combination with ElementalX (extended/improved OTG support) on my phone, and it works great.
ElementalX kernel (**Does not work with 4.2.2 based ROMs**!!! ): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2249774
To my knowledge there aren't any kernels for aosp with otg support but I imagine when the Google edition of the phone is released, that will change.
Thats what I expected. What a shame. Thank you although.
Is there at least a way to run a sense based ROM with AOSP lockscreen?

[Q] bluetooth

Just registered today but been reading the threads, I managed to install [ROM][4.3][13/08] EternityProject's CyanogenMod 10.2 for LG Optimus 4X HD
I went from upgrading the stock ICS to stock jellybean, I wasnt happy with the battery performance, so I rooted the phone on jellybean, unlocked the bootloader and installed the mention custom rom. Been using it and it works pretty, there were some random crashes with the launcher b ut after using another launcher it is pretty solid rom. So thanks to the dev and the great testers for feedback here.
The only thing that does not seem to work is bluetooth, I cant seem to pair the phone with my LG soundbar at home.. Bluetooth on stock ics and jellybean both worked fine....Is there anything I can do to resolve this?
Cheers

Please post in the QandA thread next time you have any queries bro! It's annoying some of the users a little now.
However, the 4.3 Rom you have flashed is still in Alpha Stages, it will have many bugs and i do believe Bluetooth is one of them, you will need to flash a more stable rom such as magic rom which is stock based so you can be sure 100% stability, or you can flash a 4.2.2 Rom with a 4.2.2 Kernel which should straighten it out for you!
Should be posted here in Q&A in the future! http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1651

Forgive my ignorance still kind of new to flashing roms although I do flash my advent vega with your friends in tabletroms. Some good devs there...which kernel would you choice to use with that rom?
Ignore, misread the question
