Need expert help battery run out screen flickering and bootloop related issue - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

since i bought my gnote even on ICS when the battery run out and get to 0% the phone perform unclean shutdown ( screen brightness changes frequently , touch malfunction and then the screen goes black ) but no boot loop on ics after upgrading to official android 4.1.2 jplsb via odin including the new bootloader the same happen when the battery run out but it is followed by a bootloop
this only happen when i continue using my phone at 1% then the battery run out while the screen still on.
if the phone was left on the table it will safely shutdown
( that annoying problem can only be solved by wiping and reflashing the rom )
my question is :
is there any hardware problem with my phone ?
is there any step i need to do before flashing again to avoid this problem?
my rom:
stock JB 4.1.,2 jplsb no root
sorry for my bad english

Instead of flashing rom again and again and wiping data why no you just connect your phone to charger when it reaches 5% that should be much more easier

No, not really. Because there is no problem with the device but more with your handling. Forcing a device to brute-force-shutdown will always result in an "unclean" condition.
And with JB you get an extra condition with boot loop.
So you should work on your problem and follow the advice - charge.

Seriously can someone please explain to me what the heck the above mean? I get the notion of a brick but what the heck is the difference between Super brick? Hard / Soft Brick? Finally, not really brick but what's Pixel Salad!?
Thanks!

Soft brick= a FAILURE of the device that can be reverted by the user
Hard brick= a FAILURE of the device that has to be reverted via external devices see jtag
Superbrick= a FAILURE of the device where the only solution the service center and a replacement of the component that malfunctions.
Pixel salad = a problem of the graphics unit or the screen to display correctly the image and put instead random colored pixels on some areas of the screen or the whole screen.
This is my interpretation of those issues everyone can correct it if he thinks that those expansions are incorrect.
Hope it helped you understanding few of those issues.

Hi, I flashed N7000ZSLPF ICS with bootloader and rooted afterwards. Everything was perfect until i decided to flash cm9 nigthly signed.zip and did a direct reboot. Now nothing happens when i try to turn the phone on
What kind of brick is this? Can somebody please tell me ?
Is there any possibilities to get the phone fixed?
Thank you all for your answers allready

I'm not 100% sure, but performing a flash under lpf isn't recommended. How did you root lpf after flashing? And when you say "did a direct reboot" what do you mean? Also when you say doesn't turn on at all, do you mean no display whatsoever or enters Samsung boot loop? Are you able to enter recovery or download mode?

You should have read the warning about LPx kernels (LP1, LP5, LP6, LPY, LPF)
Wiping or flashing in recovery will probably cause superbrick.

The way to go from ANY non-CM9-based ICS Rom to a CM9-based Rom is via Gingerbread.
You should've first used PC Odin to go back to GB, root your Rom, then flash CM9.
You have most probably superbricked your phone.

if your phone can't charge your battery you should consider buying an external charger and then recharge the battery so you can flash new ROM!
how did this happen, were you on gingerbread or ICS ROM? did you wipe or flash something in recovery?
i have it official ics rom for germany, i want try it flash other rom / hybrid rom / after flash , and restart rom stay only first screen /booth screen/. i turn to cwm and clear wipe, factory reset...but after this operation note is restart back to cwm first screen. i try this operation 3 times, after this i turn note the download mode , connect with pc odin and flash new rom , but flash not ending only stay 15 minutes near 95 percent flash line. after restart ,i dont have cmw , only first screen is Firmware upgrade encountered an issue and if i turn to download mode , write me low battery!! can not download.
first i need full battery , and after i can try it flash...
Bump!
I dont usually bump topics but a friend of mine is having this same issue,
i cant boot into recovery or cwm mode, and if i try to hold the power, volume down and menu button together, it tells me that the battery is low (which isnt true as its been plugged since 3 hours). Its not a battery issue, my friend did some bad flashing and being a noob that he is, he can't even tell me what he was doing exactly that caused this weird thing, i donno even if i should call this a brick or not :S anyone????
Can you get another battery from anywhere?

PROBLEM SOLVED
THANKS TO Dr.KETAN because of him this problem for me has been solved
Below is the step-wise description.
WHAT HAPPENED:-
01.) I was on ROOTED GT-N7000 ICS 4.0.4 PDA-DDLRB CSC(K)-ODDLR4 M-DDLR1
02.) I decided to install Alliance ROM => AllianceROM_JB_N7000XXLSZ-v3 and by mistake and just out of habit instead of using ROM Customizer, I used Mobile ODIN with WIPE (ALL of them) Selected.
03.) Although ODIN didn't came up with any errors and showed installation successful, my phone was stuck on the first screen "SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE GT-7000" screen.
04.) After waiting for about 30-40 mins. I took out battery, took out memory card and tried to reboot again but no luck.
05.) I tired to recover by re-installing/rolling back to ROM I was on i.e. GT-N7000 ICS 4.0.4 PDA-DDLRB CSC(K)-ODDLR4 M-DDLR1, but ODIN Shows an error saying "PARAMETER INCORRECT" (screen shot attached)
06.) I then tried to install
GT-N7000 ICS 4.0.4 PDA-DDLR9 CSC(K)-ODDLR3 M-DDLR1 but ODIN failed (Screen Shot Attached)
GT-N7000 GB 2.3.6 PDA-DDLB2 CSC(K)-DDLA1 M-
07.) Now my phone is stuck in two modes only i.e.
7.1.) "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again"
7.2.) Download MODE
Dr. KETAN"S HELP (WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE)
01.) Remove .MD5 from extension of ROM and keeping .TAR as extension help me got rid of the "THE PARAMETER IS INCORRECT" error.
02.) Go to Task Manager and close/disable/end process following service
02.1) KIES
02.2)FIREWALL
02.3)ANTI-VIRUS
03.) In ODIN (on PC) Select PDA do not select PHONE (this was my mistake too)
04.) In case you had/have HEIMDALL on your system , go to Device Manager (from Control Panel) and un-install the Generic Device driver
05.) Now try to install the stock ROM you have (it should get installed , at-least this happened in my case.)
WHAT IS TOTALLY USELESS ?
01.) KIES
02.) You PANICKING and FREAKING OUT
WHAT I CAN'T DO:-
01.)Visiting Samsung shop/service station
Please find the attached link to the screen shot. https://plus.google.com/photos/11509...978?banner=pwa
THANKS TO Dr. KETAN again for his HIGHLY appreiciated, respected and well needed help and guidance.
I tried that above, but still doesn't work for me.
low battery can't download
i have the same problem
i was in stock rom and i was playing game! the phone downloaded the OTA update and restarted automatically to install it but it stuck a long time in samsung boot logo and i think it caused the battery drain.
i rebooted the phone and it showed me "firmware upgrade encountered an issue blah blah blah" but my phone reboots after a sec and shows the message again and reboots again and .....
i tried to get into download mode but it says "low battery can't download " and reboots! i charged my battery with external charger and still no change! ODIN can detect my phone when i connect it but because it reboots after a sec i can't do anything!
any suggestions would be appreciated!

After you charged the battery, are you able to stay in download mode?

Woke up this morning, my Note was dead...

Hi there,
I had no problem with my Note until this morning when I woke up.
My Note was turned off, I tried to turn it on, impossible.
I plugged the usb wire and I saw the battery logo and it was fully drained.
It's weird because I usually hold 2 days with my phone and yesterday, before sleeping, the battery was almost full.
More than that, I use Green Power, so all the connectivity services shut down during the night, there's almost no battery consumption.
So, I tried to turn it on, many times, impossible... it's stuck at the blinking Samsung logo.
I use the LQ2 rom with the Franco's kernel R5.
I've also tried to wipe cache & Dalvik's cache in recovery, but that doesn't change anything.
I'm beginning to be a bit worried because I've red some post on the forum saying that the Note's CPU can burn...
Please help ! Thanks !
are you overclocked? but even if you are, if the device goes into deepsleep, it can't burn...
i wonder what really happened..
How long have you had Franco 5 running on it?
I got stuck at flashing logo when I tried to upgrade from Rocket ROM 3 to 4.1. Ended up having to do factory reset. Now on RR4.1 with CF kernel. Hoping it stays stable.
So if all else fails do the factory reset as per ROM instructions and hope that gets you through.
I don't overclock the device, I try to run it as simple as possible, as long as I have Gmail, I'm happy.
I don't know what happened... I was running Franco's R5 since the day he released it, without any single problem !
I'm now on a Windows, I'll try to run Odin and flash it.
Yes, no idea what appened.
But the best is to flash a wipe stock Rom from Odin PC.
How to check if my cpu is not burned ?
I flashed a new rom with Odin, the phone doesn't boot anymore...
The file I flashed: http://www.hotfile.com/dl/159007364/ad4ff19/N7000XXLQ2_N7000OXELP6_SER.zip.html
What can I do more ?

I hope your PBA is not cooked like mine. I was on franco's kernel too before I could revert back to safety, it was dead. Are you able to get in download mode? When flashing or wiping, do you get errors on datafs or factoryfs?
If you have warranty, Samsung service center

What do you mean with PBA ?
I can go into download mode and before flashing the rom with Odin, I could go into recovery without any problem.
I don't have errors with datafs and factoryfs.
I think my phone is dead... ok I have to live with it... but I really would like to know why.

PBA is the motherboard. Does it get stuck at Samsung logo or nothing happens at all when you press vol up+home+power?

First of all the CPU is fine, since you see the Recovery screen.
From Recovery flash Abyss 4.2, reboot Recovery (from Advances).
Wipe user data, Cash and Dalvik Cash,
Flash any ROM.
I had a very similar problem. Resolved by reverting to Franco R4.
Good luck!

When I do that, before flashing the latest rom, I was going into recovery.
Now that I flashed it, I land into a "Android system recovery (3e)".
It's a blue menu like the CWM Recovery but with less options.
I suppose that this is the default recovery system bundled by Samsung...

Now that I flashed the original rom, I lost root, how can I do that ?
When I first got my TMobile Galaxy S2, the first day it died completely while I was sleeping. I tried turning it on and I would feel the vibration of the phone trying to turn on but it wouldn't. I figured the battery had drained so I plugged it in the charger, but the phone wouldn't stay off and charge, it would try turning on over and over. It went into a crazy bootloop. It was my first time with the phone so I thought it went crazy and called samsung.
Eventually the phone got enough of a charge to power on completely without shutting down. I eventually realized that if my phone died completely, what I had to do was use my Car Charger, which didn't turn my phone on and showed me the little battery indicator showing it was charging.
I don't know if this is similar to what you experienced but hope it helps.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
a similar thing happened to me earlier,
I would advise you not to have wiped anything whilst on ICS even with franco kernel.
If you can go to download mode, do so then using pc odin flash a stock rooted GB rom from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1535025
then flash cwm recovery. following this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1329360
then wipe data, cache and everything else.
you should be back to GB then flash whatever rom you want, I would advise you to flash paranoidandroid which is superb.
the only difference I had with you, is that i did not wipe data or cache whilst on ICS so this may not work for you as you have done that.
But this method worked for me.
Ok, I'll try to flash the GB rom, and I'll be back to get you update of the situation...
I think I'll be back on HTC soon... I don't understand why the phone reacted like that...

Weired Problem...Plz Help

Hi guys,
recently i had a problem with my phone whenever i change my battery the date show as 1 jan 2000 and i had to rectify it manually..I thought cause i was on a custom rom ..so i flashed philz safe kernel (latest 2.99) and JB GT-N7000XXLSC_N7000OXALSC_N7000XXLSC rom...
everything was ok until...i replaced my battery again as i use two batteries on the go and then my fone was stuck again on the first boot samsung image...when i tried the up+home+power keys it went to the original safe recovery android rather than philz ... it looks like everytime i replace battery this is going to happen again...any one had same issue ...i was reading the posts on this forum and someone had similiar issue with battery and was suggested it is a fault on the fone itself....
any suggestions are welcomed ..and thx in advance

Hi thx for reply...i used oden ...pressed the down+power +home then it went to download mode then oden pc connected thru cable...
When you installed the new rom, philz recovery was replaced by the stock recovery. And JB leak has issues of getting bootloops if not shut down properly. So when you power off the phone wait till the last haptic feedback and then change the battery. Still not 100 % but will save some bootloops
yeah although after i installed jb i reflashed again philz...but i will keep an eye on this ..as i suspect could be hardware issue ...usually it should not lose the time and date once you replace battery ...
its normal on that rom I think

help xperia t

Dear friends I briefly illustrate my problem in order to ask for help figuring out how to get out.
I had installed on my Xperia T the CM10.1 and tired of the constant reboots, yesterday I decided to go back to the stock rom. To make things right I rebooted in recovery mode and I did a full wipe so I flashed a stock rom via flash tools and from there started my problems. After installation I redid the root and reinstalled the cvm so I installed several custom rom always getting the same result: continuous reboot as soon as I touched the display or the bootloop. This morning I locked the bootloader via flashtool and I restored the installation attarverso the PcCompanion and then I redid the root and reinstalled cwm but in the end the result is the same continuous reboots .......

Flash a stock kernel and try again.
You cannot use a stock rom on a CM kernel...
If you really don't know what you are doing then flash a stock ftf in flashtool
PS
Now I have ANSWERED your QUESTION guess where it should have been posted

i made this and i have the results now it work for a few minutes and then it shotdown. if i reboot it does not work but if connect to the charger it work for a few minutes and the restart to shotdown
does it boot up completely before shutting down?
I suggest leaving the phone turned off and charge it for 24 hours.
Tell me what it does after that
THanks forum the answer. Now i installerĂ  a stock kernel and i restared the phone. In order the phone start completely or hot start.
Now there is a new problem: the work properly but wen i use the camera it shotdown also using ics
Inviato dal mio LT30p usando Tapatalk 4
In the last day i made many test including battery calibration and the result is always the same: the phone shutdown after 4-5 shots also whit battery at 100% of full charge.
The last test was performed whit the wall charger plug and in this case the phone work very well i think that the problem is the battery that is broken
