Please guys, I was using WhattsApp and the phone hold on, I needed to remove the batery, when I started the phone, I got the menssage "LG SECURITY ERROR, MORNINGCALL ERROR" on boot image. I cant inicialize more. So I Tried Emergency Recovery Mode in LG Mobile Tools, my mobile isn't developer edition and don't have root. I do the download in emergency mode and the phone tried to install the firmware downloaded, but in 21% of upgrade the program lost conection, i clicked in Try again, all the times hold on in 21%. And now, when I try to turn on the phone, i got the message "[LGE_SECURITY] ERROR: boot image signature Critical failure: Unable to start kernel. Unrecoverable boot loader error (0x00000002).".
I Tried to use UpTestEX_mod2_marwin.exe and KDZ_FW_UPD.exe, but still hold on in wParam=2010, IParam = 708,
The phone has comunication with computer only in S/W Upgrade mode.
I downloaded original firmware, but how can I install it without KDZ_FW_UPD.exe ?
Help me please and sorry about the english, isn`t good.

I tried with battery and without battery, and I tried replacing the battery. I Follow this guide:
Preparation:
Download the kdz file of your interest (any version will do)
Download the necessary Windows softwares
Download usbdriver for LG P880 from LG support website (LGUnitedMobileDriver - Ver 3.8.1)
Recovering steps:
[1]
Extract the KDZ_FW_UPD_EN.zip anywhere (example: C:\KDZ\)
Install msxml.msi (located in \KDZ)
[2]
Install the usb driver (LGUnitedMobileDriver - Ver 3.8.1)
[3]
Reebot your softbricked Optimus 4X in SW Upgrade mode (remove the battery, hold the (vol -) key and plug the cable in, remember not to press the on/off button, just hold down (vol -) and plug the cable in.)
"S/W Upgrade" texts will appear on phone screen, release the holding of (Vol -) and wait for Windows to finish installing drivers for each component: modem, port, etc.
[4]
Open the Windows "Device Manager" > Modems > disable the LGE Mobile USB Modem
Make sure the driver for LG port is correctly installed
If you put off SIM card before flashing, you may find Windows failed to install modem driver, yet disabling USB modem is still recommended just in case.
[5]
Insert back your battery
[6]
Run as administrator Windows Enabler.exe (KDZ\Windows Enabler.exe) --->Make sure to right click and Run as administrator... not double-clicking
After run the app, an icon will appear on your tray, single-click on the icon until the "ON" text appears over the icon
[7]
Run as administrator KDZ_FW_UPD.exe ---> Make sure to right click and Run as administrator... not double-clicking
[8]
Locate the .kdz file that you want to flash
[9]
Select the necessary options:
Type: "3GQCT"
Phonemode: "DIAG"
[10]
Click on "Launch Software Update" and don't click on anything else
[11]
Ignore the error log, it's normal, just click OK over the notification and let the software-updating progress finish about 5-7 minutes
[12]
WAIT until your phone reboots automatically, unplug the cable. and click on EXIT
[13]
The automatic booting may bring you to recovery mode
If this is the case, just do a hard reset (wipe data). The phone in this recovery mode might respond slower than normal, just be patient to wait the phone to respond after making an option
If you've got only boot loop after flashing .kdz, just get to android recovery mode by press and hold [vol -] and [power], then do a hard reset and reboot again
this guide i copy from facebook lg4x group

You need to take out the battery to start the flash process, and after the log start to run, you need to put it back on.
You need to turn ON Windows Enabler cause when you just start the program its not ON.
Try to have the battery over 50% of charge.
Need to have "msxml" installed.
Use the program "UpTestEX_mod2_marwin.exe".
I know the video is long and boring but, I tried to put there all the possible mistakes that one can do, see if you don't forgot nothing.
If after that, you're not able to flash it, sorry... can't help you.

@xavierleonelbr method didn't worked cause that is the way to unbrick developer phones.
Had an other idea... to unbrick try to use V10A kdz file.
Here is the Brazilian V10A (unbranded):
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW/LGP880/ABRABK/V10a_00/V10A_00.kdz
And you don't need to use WinXP, Win7 works great!
Good luck :fingers-crossed:
Hi,i tried to update firmware on my 4x today using kdz. When i held power/vol down buttons i got the s/w updating, please wait while it updates message.Since then i can`t get past that screen.I can`t get into download, recovery, emergency mode, anything. All i can do is take the battery out,and that didn`t help.I tried to flash the rom using kdz fw update that i read here, and i always get the same message. It starts running and then i get the pop up log making error file.I also wanted to try installing those apx drivers, but i can`t seem to install those dll files...
I have no idea what to do to get it to work.If anyone can help me asap i would be extremely grateful.I only bought it two days ago.I wil post the log i get here if anybody can figure it out.

Try the procedure from begining ON ANOTHER COMPUTER I had simular problem with p500 on my laptop, but on my other PC the firmware flashed perfectly fine.
Maybe u are just tired, if you can't do nothing today leave it for tomorrow.

Also remove the batery and put the USB cable (which is connected to your pc) and hold volume - button, the idea is to flash firmware without battery, and check if LG MODEM is disabled

I just tried it with the battery out,and it worked for a while but then it just stopped and nothing happened. And the screen went from w.w upgrade to white screen.
When i put the battery back in-the s/w upgrading screen was back on.

After the log parameters starts to run, you need to put back the battery on the phone.

I hope you followed The guide, because it clearly says that you are supposed to start with that battery pulled out, and then put it in when the log starts running

Is this a error log file? Dosen't look like. I think you were just not having patience. It really take time a lot. For me it stopped in middle, somewhere like that. But I waited and it started again. Raed instructions step by step of pictured thread. Try again from start.
Even for me it failed once and I got similar kind of log. Again I tried on with placing battery and it worked
You don't have any problem , if the phone can boot into S/W then the problem with your PC or windows version . Try use windows xp or windows 7 - 32 bit .
Your phone is working fine , check your PC .

Yeah, with S/W, you should be fine.
Check that you put the battery in the moment the logs start.
I experienced the same thing, update just hang. My solution was to set the PhoneMode to EMERGENZY.
Then erverything worked fine..

I have all methods tried for severall days and with no succes

Hello,
Looking for a bit of help here.
I have just recently purchased a mobile phone off Ebay where the IMEI is missing.
I have read the following article thinking that it would be a simple fix, only to find that I seem to be unable to connect to the phone when using Tutty.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2280249
I have checked the IMEI and found that it is authorised on the LG site

</response>
I have downloaded the subsequent KDZ file from the link of the LG website, however this leads to my second problem.
When attempting to upgrade the firmware of my phone i receive failure to upload the software, within the LGFlashTool, UpTestEx_mod2_marwin and KDZ_FW_UPD.
With FLFlashTool I have followed the below instructions
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1843830
I am successful in getting a connection that links on COM port 1, I remove the usb cable when the program says ready and plug back in. The program begins, it skips to 7% then to 10% after 17 seconds I receive an error message Failed Upload, Failure : 207.
Using KDZ or UpTest I get the following:

I really have no idea what the meaning is behind the different states wparam and lparam, no matter how long I leave the phone it just sits there.
The other possibility is it could be a dev phone, but there is no 'not for sale' sign on the phone and the software version in settings is V10h, unless the last person that had it already upgraded and mucked it up.
I am at a loss and looking for some help,
Any will be greatly appreciated
If you require further information please ask,
Thank you in advance,
Monkey
Extra info
Just for some extra information, I thought it may be the usb connection, so i bought a new usb PCB board for the phone but to no avail, what i have written above is what is happening with the new USB connection.
I am finding a strange thing happen when I attempt to connect the phone on USB, I get the option of using Media Sync or LG software. Under both when i try to access the internal storage of the phone from My Computer the window closes in Windows, the phone also seems to have a fit, the connection to the pc starts then stops multiple times before it connects again.
Maybe it is a dodgy USB connection that I bought, I can try the original again, or maybe it is something else in the phone.
Think I may have to give up with this one.

Then the phone gets stuck and it never reboots, using LGFlashTool port 4 it keeps resetting over and over again, I thought it was the USB cable but reading what you wrote its probably not the problem, I suggest you look for a folder called efs where is supposed to be the IMEI of your phone, if you have it you might be able to do some sort of recovery, Ive found some guides on google but unfortunately I dont have the folder and didnt back it up, anyways, if you find out whats happened to our phone let us know. Thanks

Forgot to add, I flashed kdzs with no problems at all about a year ago, then I unlocked the bootloader and started to flash roms in the following order: Zaiben ZRC3, werewolf, Vanyr, and finally stayed with Zaiben ZRC3 where one day just couldnt get any signal and the imei appeared as null.
Ive tried this youtube/watch?v=rPHdI0bYf2U, installing differents roms and going back to stock but I cant manage to restore my imei without the efs folder.
My phone is brand new not a dev one, any help will be appreciated.
Thanks
Tried something
Tried the old USB PCB and RIBBON, still receive the same error message.
So it may not be the USB connection.
I cannot see any damaged pins on the connector to the main board.
I found out what WParam and LParam are but I do not know what the numbers refer to.
Whether the numbers are generic to Windows or specific to the LG software and/or hardware
Does anyone have any update? I am having the same issue at my end
same problem .. dead end
I have the same problem ... i tried reflashing it by all methods with no change ... i think it has somthing to do with unlocking bootloader as it says " " bootloader state : unlocked " ... so supposedly relocking the bootloader or recovery of the original OEM one would be helpful !
Tried LG
You can guess the response I received from LG.
No warranty, no help.
Which is fair enough, all I really want is an understanding of what the codes mean.
Nevermind.
same here i have had the problem for a long time.
i had no luck doing any thing i use the fone as more of a tablet now.:crying:

Tried the old USB PCB and RIBBON, still receive the same error message.
So it may not be the USB connection.
I cannot see any damaged pins on the connector to the main board.
I found out what WParam and LParam are but I do not know what the numbers refer to.
Whether the numbers are generic to Windows or specific to the LG software and/or hardware

Hi. Sitting here with the same problem... can`t find any solution at Google. Have You manage to solv this??
About to try out a new sim card holder from Ebay - but not that hopefull
New phone I suppose.
My P880 is stuck in S/W mode after i wanted to update with the KDZ updater from LG. if i connect the phone to LG mobile support tool it says LG E455 while it is an optimus 4x HD this was also the case before i updated. however i have an another Optimus 4x HD which didn't had that problem. I tried all the different flash tools but i get either a iparam 2010 = 210 or with the flash tool to flash dz and dll files it reaches 10% and i get the fail and failure errors and it stops.
I tried all tutorials already and different .dz and .kdz files.
if your phone is being detected as lge455 ou probaly need to install correct drivers on the pc

Any updates to resolve this issue?
Any updates to resolve this issue?
It has been a while i haven't tried since i made this topic after spending many hours of trying i gave up on it.
I even contacted the LG support but of course those people don't know nothing about how to fix this.
Edit: i had this issue on a P880 i purchased second hand from someone on the internet it's like the person flashed the wrong software on it and when i updated it OTA it began to get issues like the front facing camera not working, and after i tried to flash new firmware on it for the P880 it got stuck like it is now.
Thanks for the Update Underground597. Any further updates or suggestions from experts to recover from this mode is very helpful.

I don't know if someone still reads this but i think my problem is that the IMEI is not active atleast that is what the LG_Flash tool log tells me from the kdz-update package.
