I have one of the cases with the magnetic sleep/wake function. It works in stock, but not when running CM10. Is there some way to enable this feature? I puttered in the settings, but couldn't find anything.

It should work when you open the case though I have had times when it doesn't. No one seems to have figured it out for closing as of yet though.

Hey all,
I've been poking around the web and XDA for a while, and I'm wondering now if anyone else has had some weird audio stammering/stuttering on their Ones? Initially, I thought it might be something wrong with my headphones (have had a bad history of wearing out the jacks, but after using four or five sets, I don't think that's the issue. It's also not an issue with streaming/buffering the content in Play Music-- it happens with local content as well as streamed, although I haven't seen it much in other apps, such as YouTube.
If anyone has any thoughts, I'd love to hear them-- this has been a very frustrating issue on an otherwise excellent phone. I'm running tbalden's kernel, and otherwise am stock/rooted (and no, I don't see anything about the issue in the kernel thread, aside from some people playing around with PureXAudio). Thanks much!

I'd go back to the stock kernel anyway. The current kernel source has had several issues that HTC needs to fix (including missing portions) so it's really not advisable to use one. There's not much benefit to a custom kernel right now anyway.

Nominally an option, the main issue is that I've become quite dependent on sweep2wake and logo2menu, but if it does become a bigger issue it's certainly a tradeoff I'll consider.

I'd look into other solutions for those. sweep2wake actually eats quite a bit of power (it leaves the entire touch panel powered), and logo2menu can be replicated with other programs.
For example, what I do for powering the device on/off is using my flip cover combined with a Tasker profile that acts like the iPad smart cover, using the proximity sensor. Open = on, Close = off. Even works when turning the device over or putting it in the pocket.
Also, you can use apps like GMD GestureControl to enable menus with a simple gesture, combined with a basic rom modification to remove the soft menu button.

I've yet to have trouble with sweep2wake, actually-- it, along with PGM Nexus are compromises I'm willing to make for extra utility. I've actually never had very good luck with Tasker and a proximity sensor (I actually tried it again this morning with ill results), although the pocket trick does work reasonably well for me.
Personally, I can't stand GMD GestureControl on a phone, although it's a lifesaver on a tablet. In any event, I did try a restore to stock and I'm still having the issue (although it may be slightly less pronounced-- who knows!). Hopefully there may be a fix incoming from one side or the other.
Does anyone know a way to disable the magnetic sensor that locks and unlocks the screen? I use a Steelie Nite Ize http://www.niteize.com/product/Steelie-Car-Mount-Kit.asp as a car mount and the magnet immediately locks my phone.
I know on previous phones I used someone usually finds a way to disable this feature. But I cannot find anything for the Nexus 6.
Any help is appreciated!

I'm having the same issue as well!!! This is tremendously annoying.
I bought the Logitech dashboard/windshield magnetic mount just yesterday and tried to unlock my phone while connected to it and as soon as it locked back again I immediately thought - "MAGNET! Damn!"
To me a magnetic solution seems most elegant since you don't have to release any mechanisms to remove or place your phone but obviously it loses it's function when you can't even unlock your device. I can't find ANYTHING on the Nexus 6 magnet on the net. I've seen a couple of things about the Nexus 7 magnet and apparently IT has an option to disable the lock function unlike the Nexus 6.
I'll keep looking into it as best as I can but if anyone has any insight into how to disable this function it would be greatly appreciated. I'm wondering if there's maybe a kernel level command/modification like the one that disables the hidden LED on our phones that could disable it.
There's an app called Magnet Unlocker that definitely detects the magnet and gives you a meter/readout of magnetic field strength that's supposed to let you configure behaviors based on the magnet being activated and also lets you adjust the sensitivity but i can't seem to make it do anything. Maybe you guys can try and have success with it. I found it here:

Hi, I am trying to find a solution to disable the magnetic sensor on the Nexus 6. I have bought a magnetic car cradle and wanted to place the small magnetic piece over the M dimple between my phone and hard case, but every time it shuts the screen off and I can't turn it back on. I have tried to install xposed but I am on android 5.1 and can't get it to work. Would love to hear any solutions or suggestions. The cradle is the Steelie by Nightize
There is no option yet tot disable the magnet sensor.
An option is to fix/glue a metal on the outside of the hard case about 1 cm below the M-logo.
On my N6 the magnet is than not activated.
I am using 2 hard cases.
In the car a hard case with metal.
The MagnetOff Xposed module does work for the Nexus 6 running 5.0.1, I just got it set up yesterday. I know you're on 5.1 so that may not be super helpful, but there is an alpha version of Xposed working on 5.1. Since it's an alpha not all modules are working and you may encounter bootloops so make sure you backup before doing anything. The MagnetOff module isn't listed in the working or non-working module list I found so it probably hasn't been tried yet. As a last resort you could always downgrade back to 5.0.1.
Has anyone found any updated solutions ? I too have the same issue with a magnetic car mount.
Still curious
I too am curious, or maybe a mechanical solution. Any ideas?
HI, i want to be able to disable the magnet in MM, currently use xposed module but it is only compatible with LP, does anybody have any solutions or ideas to get this accomplished in MM?
Is it too simple an idea to suggest losing the cover and swapping to another that doesn't have magnets?
Not trying to be clever, just asking what seems to be the obvious question - if you don't want the magnet functionality, why buy it?

Ha...fair question. The problem is that I use a magnetic stand/mount in my car (by far the best stand to use in your car) and whenever I put it on the mount my screen turns off. The module would simply disable that.
I am having a hardware issue with my phone. I was wondering if there might be a software work-around to it. The sensor that detects the removal of my s-pen fires off randomly. I've set all of the settings so nothing happens (no air command, no vibration or noise) when these misfires happen, but it still wakes up the phone randomly. The misfires do not happen when the pen is removed. I tried a new pen but that didn't help - so the issue is on the phone.
So, I was wondering if there is some software solution that will trick the phone into thinking that the pen is always out - basically disable the signal from the sensor. I opened the phone and I found the magnetic sensor that triggers this but I really don't want to remove or replace it. It would be hard if not impossible since it's right on the board. I know this is an odd problem and I've not seen any reports of anything similar, but I was hoping that there might be some ideas out there. Thanks for your help!
PS: My note 4 is rooted.

Thanks. I think I fixed it. I had replaced my screen some time ago. The adhesive had become undone and it was pulling away from the board. I opened it up and glued it down. Seems to have worked.
