H E L P Exhibit wont see home wi fi - Samsung Galaxy Exhibit 4G

I am trying to use a Samsung Exhibit 2 4G to connect to home wi fi. It worked fine for about a day then stopped. Nothing wrong with router or home network at all - other devices and other cell phones connect without any problem. The Exhibit now longer sees ANY wi fi network, at home, Starbucks.....none. I turn on wi fi, it does one quick scan, turns off. I try to manually add network and get the message "can't save network." Rebooted router twice; changed encryption, broadcast channel, and a few other things. Didn't work. Did a "back to stock." Didn't help. Set up new apn with t-mobile help. Didn't work. Can access web through tmobile but not wi fi network. I am a novice and don't want to make any fatal errors. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Was originally android 2.4.6. Back to stock installed android 2.3.5. Anybody got any advice?

Sounds like a hardware issue. If your still under warranty send it back for a replacement.

when i was on stock rom, everytime i use titanium backup to move any app to internal memory, the phone lost it's wif. I ended reintall the whole rom or full cwm recovery to fix the issue, and later learn to use custom rom, and not using titanium backup anymore.

I never use titanium, I just back up apps with ES and start with fresh data. Whenever I restored a data backup in the past it always caused too many problems. Back when I had access to Amon Ra recovery it was an easy fix, fix permissions then package uid mismatches. We don't have that feature. Would be handy for people who use Tb.

No Data after flashing roms, this is probably a stupid question...

Okay so over the past few days I've been flashing a bunch of diff roms to see what I like. I've had a constant problem with getting mms to work on any of them. Well I was doing all of this from home and always had wireless to use for data, hence I used it.
Tonight, however, after flashing a few diff roms I found out I didn't have a data connection at all. Tried a couple diff cm6 nightlies and the blackmod of cm6, and after flashing the only way I can access the internet is through wi fi. Otherwise I got nothing.
Sooo, maybe my mms problem was just this all along or maybe not. Anyway, what could be the cause of losing all data connectivity. Phone says it's connected in status. And the widgets somehow magically update. But the browser, market, mms, etc don't work at all.
I'm gonna flash the 0.7 aospmod and see what happens. Any help you can offer is appreciated.
And yes, I might just be an idiot. Forgive me.
Just flashed aospmod v.07 and same ****. No data connectivity.
What gives? I feel stupid.
a guess
possible APN settings issue, did you flash back to a 2.1 sense rom, and try an Over The Air activation and update profile?
I honestly don't know but thats a guess... I use my phone with pageplus (verizon) and editing my APN settings is what fixed it for me.
Ruu. Started fresh.
Everything seems to be okay.
Thanks.
This happens on a lot of roms. I've found to fix it all u have to do is toggle on and off either or both airplane mode and moblie network.
I found having to open browser and put in my cell number b4 sprint data would work, also prl update works for me.

I had this happen to me (including all bars showing and things refreshing) and spent several hours working on it only to determine the only solution was to RUU and start over....but its faster this time around because you have nandroids....just flash one after you re root from before you lost data (if you have one) and if not, back up your apps and data with titanium backup or mybackup pro...
(I had tried all the things listed in the previous posts....not saying they wont work for you, but in my case, they didn't)

Rooted phone and no wifi

So i have a brand new Samsung Galaxy S from Bell and i love the phone. I noticed it was laggy and thats how i found this forum. Today i downloaded superoneclick and rooted the phone. I have installed the lagfix and the phone is working great except for one issue.
Before i rooted the phone my wifi worked fine, now it shows its connected to the wifi but i get a network error message whenever i tried to use the market, browse the internet ect. My wireless router is working fine, another Galaxy S in the house has no troubles accessing it. If i disable the wifi the 3G connection works just fine on the phone. Any idea what i did and how the heck do i fix it? I dont really want to get involved with a repair from Bell at this point.
Thanks in advance for any replys or advice.
install app called droid wall and then mark all apps to work on wi-fi if that is not working than flash new rom and kernel

I would guess that it's an unsuccessful root. Rooting shouldn't affect Wifi.

[Q] Network error.

Everytime I go on the Youtube app all I get is "There was a problem with the network [504]" I have cleared cache etc, flashed stock Froyo and GB (each time factory reset and cleared dalvik) but nothing works, also Tweetcaster wont update. Yet all other data dependant apps work? Im confused.
I also hve the same problem, what I found out is that the internet connection should be very good, otherwise it will give error, seems the problem is youtube not the network becuse at the same time I can connect to internet
I've never had a problem before, regardless of how good my internet connecting was. It would work on g/3g or h. It was fine on Sunday then not working on monday.

Cant Turn mobile data on no matter what I do

Hello
I am running stock JVQ firmware, unrooted. (The phone was on CM before, but I reverted it back to stock because I gave the phone to my sister) However she just changed her data plan and asked me to enable the internet.
So I went ahead, configured the access points (as described on webpage, checked milion times, I didnt mess up here) And then nothing, tried turning mobile data off/on/off on, restarting the phone, going into flight mode and back and still nothing. The 3g/Edge icon just does not show up and I am running out of ideas. The network type shows as UMTS(which is correct, same on my S2) But mobile data are off all the time. Ive done this million times before, and it worked like a charm as I am on the same network as my sister.
Any advices are appreciated.
Also I searched before posting, couldnt find anything like this.
Carrier problem I assume!

Help! Data/LTE Stopped Working

So I used the one click root method last night, no problems. Today I restored some (maybe a dozen) apps using titanium. All were noramal apps with the exception of the sms storage and the beta tether. I never ran the tether.
All of a sudden my phone has no internet connection. I rebooted, tried airplane mode, nothing.
Background: Reasonably knowledgable, came from a droid x, loaded many ROMs, did some SBFs, never bricked, never had a big problem.
Any help would be VERY VERY appreciated
Try turning off the phone and removing the battery for 30 seconds, then try booting back up and seeing if that does anything.
Thanks for the quick reply. A battery pull did not work, fortunately I did a factory reset and my data works again.
So I'm not sure which part of my very short time using the phone was the culprit, but the phone did not like one of my old apps/settings.
I'll update if I gain more insight.
Did you restore a Titanium backup from another phone? If so that was probably the culprit.
I did, from my Droid X, but I hand selected user apps+data. I did not restore system data.
I know you said you tried a battery pull, have you tried reseating the sim card/ sd card as well?
i'm not sure, that could possibly work. i did a factory reset and that did the trick.
My Bionic did the same thing after I did Motorola one-click root last night and I restored my apps and data (from DROID2) using titanium. This morning after I drove away from home and lost wifi - no data - 4g or otherwise. After freaking out for a while and trying to figure how to exchange a 24 hour old rooted Bionic, I found that the toggle switch for data was disabled in settings.
Turned data on and LTE was back. The speed is astounding.

Which specific setting was it? I see it mentioned in the about phone area, but didnt find the option you spoke of.
Nevermind...found it! Battery&Data Manager>Data Delivery for anyone else that has this problem
So i found the exact culprit. It was restoring my SMS/MMS messages from my Droid X.
I restored the data only from the sms/mms storage and it kills the data services. Unfortunately the fix above does not work for my problem as the data was alrady checked on.
The only fix is factory wipe

i used MyBackupPro to restore over 5000 sms messages from my Droid X to my Bionic and i did not experience any interruption of the data service...
