Hi all,
I have a problem here. I've got a Galaxy Note from USA but I'm Indonesian. When I insert any Indonesian SIM Card, my GN won't recognized them.
I've tried to flash N7000DXLSE N7000OLBLSE (Indonesia) but didn't work. It make another issue, baseband on "about phone" show "unknown" and my GN still can't recognized Indonesian SIM Card.
So what should I do to solve this problem?
Any help will be appreciated, thanks.
NB: Sorry for my bad English.
Is it a new N7000? Are Sim cards from USA working? Where did you buy it and why not ask the seller?
Please try to change the sim pin in your settings (you can try to use the old one as new one).
And tell us if your IMEI number (in Settings, About device) starts with 004999... (please do not post your real IMEI here).

in other forums, doing factory reset after an install could result in a signal improvement..
but in case of GNote, you must make sure to have a non-bricking kernel to do a safe factory reset,,

maybe the phone is locked to US carriers like AT&T since it the unit came from US..
that is why your having trouble with network from Indonesia..
if this is the case try to unlock SIM restriction for global SIM cards..
---------- Post added at 01:46 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:44 PM ----------
though you flashed it with asian stock firmware, it may never be unlock by just doing so..

yeahh I think your Gnote is lock
I've encounter with the same problem with I9000 that I purchased from Romanian fellow. It was lock with their GSM carrier.
Just search for Gnote GSM unlock issue. You have to play with binary number to unlock it.

Its my 3rd Thread now, since i got 4.3 update, just problems. Has someone an idea, why i dont have any service providers? I have the same SIM, that was working on the previous version, and did the OTA update, had the T-Mobile branded DE version, flashed many firmwares, now i have flashed unbranded Belgium 9.2.A.1.205, (live in Belgium and the SIM is BASE), and when i go, Settings>More>Mobile Networks>Service Providers, and search for networrk/service, always comes a "No Networks Found".
I dont have any Signal of course, cant make a call, sms, nothing of course. When someone has an idea or solution, would be really grateful, since i i didint even can connect to my home network/wifi, at least this would be good to have.
Thanks in advance..

As bruce1x sujested did you try another sim in your Xperia T, if the other sim works then oder a new one. If not then reflash stock firmware from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=52630436 useing flashtools http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1943886.
If this doesnt work then you have either a dead radio or a dead sim card reader, in this case you would need to send it back to be replaced, hope this helps.
P.S. Had the same problem when I pressed the magical USA BAND button and a stock reflash sorted it out :good:

Try flashing a different modem.
You can download stock firmware from www.sammobile.com and extract out whichever modem you need. Flash it via oden.
Or look at the Note 4 subforums for a list of individual modems posted.

Hi! So I have a Note 8 SM-N950N (SK) it says that I have SKC variant in the bootloader. I tried to upgrade the firmware due to some issues with the stock rom and now I don't get any service. I can make or receive any calls, nor does it show that I have LTE service. It's like I don't have a SIM card inserted when it's still in there. Does anyone have a solution for this? I purchased it from amazon for about 3 months ago...

Have you checked your APN settings?
I don't see how that has to do with any of it if it can't read SIM cards when you factory reset it or reflash the firmware?

Well you never mentioned factory reset or reflashing firmware, to be fair. You only said you "tried to upgrade" (could have been OTA/Odin, successful/unsuccessful, etc.). Don't know what specific firmware versions you tried either. Anyhow, if the APN settings were off it could explain certain issues with service. If It's not the case, then maybe someone else will be able to help you out with other troubleshooting suggestions.
Yup, it would help if you posted what fw/rom you were on & what fw/rom you tried to "upgrade" to & how (TWRP, Odin, OTA).
I've seen that happen when trying to use an older bl ver than what was on the phone.
did you flash just fw or also modem/bootloader?
I had a similar problem with a note 3 recently and after also flashing those it worked

Hi. I am a complete noob when it comes to rooting Android.
**************************UPDATE************************************************
THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN SOLVED. PLEASE SCROLL TO POST #89 ON PAGE 9 TO SEE THE SOLUTION.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77950935&postcount=89
***************************************************************************************************
I bought an *unlocked* Samsung Note 9 N960F/DS (Exynos 9810) international phone from a seller on ebay brand new and sealed. Received the phone yesterday (10/19/2018) and popped my working existing sim card from my iphone 6 with T-mobile into the new phone and it *worked*.........except no wifi calling.
Since my house has terrible reception I really do need wifi calling in order to receive calls (I use Skype for outbound). I decided to root and install Detonator (tekhd) even though I've never done this before. Somewhere along the line I messed up and installed the latest LUX ROM because I misred Tekhd's guide on Detonator (my fault).
Here's where I stand now: I found a stock ROM for this model (N960F/DS) and reinstalled it using Odin3 v3.13.1.
After a successful flash when I insert my working T-mobile sim I get "SIM network PIN blocked. Enter SIM network PUK."
Here the Service Provider SW shows XEU/XEU,XEU/MYM
I get the *same* message when I insert a spare T-mobile sim I happened to have that was confirmed as available with T-mobile customer service. If I take the working sim out and put it back into the other phone it works without a problem. I think that rules out the sim cards having issues.
Earlier when I had the phone rooted and Detonator installed (and working), I got a different message when I inserted the SIM:
Network Lock: This device can be remotely unlocked if eligible.
Please use the "Device Unlock" application to unlock the device.
Make sure the device has an internet connectivity to use the "Device Unlock application".
Here the Service Provider SW showed TMB/TMB/MYM.
I tried looking for a T-mobile Unlock App apk to download but could not find a recent one. I would get a "Device not supported" error. It seems T-mobile has taken it off the Playstore.
Now, I can't install a stock USA ROM from T-mobile because those ROMS are only for the Snapdragon versions and I have the Exynos chip. I was given two unlock codes over the phone with T-mobile customer service to try and unlock the Pin lock but they both did not work.
Do you think an unlock service will be able to provide me with a valid "Sim Network PUK" code? I'm happy to pay for the service if I can just get the damn phone working. I've spent almost $770 on this phone and in hindsight should just have gotten the T-mobile branded phone for $100 more. I'm really at a loss as to what I can do to rectify this situation.
Also in hindsight I should have done more research before purchasing the phone and also should have backed up my partition in TWRP........You live and you learn.
The irony here is that I had an unlocked phone.....and now it has somehow gotten locked.........by the carrier whose SIM card is working perfectly fine......in a different phone. The device was paid in full btw.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

this is a first. I always though once the region lock was lifted it couldn't be relocked( to me it seems to be a region lock issue, which if it is you need to make a 5 min call on region soil... good luck)
anyways check on your box there is a sticker with model and serial . find what carrier or region its from and grab that firmware and flash it. might want to factory wipe everything (including cache) in the recovery before booting it up indownlaod mode to do Odin flash.
also remove sim before wiping/ flashing, let it boot and do the initial setup then insert sim.

I did wipe and reinstall the stock rom with the sim removed. The strange thing is..........I get the same message if I insert an old, blank, unused t-mobile sim into the device. Plus the working sim works fine in my old phone. So how could it be that the sim is locked?
There is nothing on the box that says anything about a carrier. This was advertised and sold as a factory unlocked phone which by all indications it does seem to be. The only thing on the box that says anything about country is that it was manufactured in vietnam.

these should be the original firmware U1 and the lates U2 which if you flash wint be able to downgrade bootloader but shouldn't be causing rhe sim lock issue.

yeah might as well use tarp. and erase all. but before, did you sift through internal s or ext s for an efs backup that detonator might have made automatically?
check for a folder called .backup and or for a file like:

or anything similar

No, but I did download Dr. Ketan's tool to make an efs backup. But that was way later in the process....so it wasn't the original efs directory......It was after I flashed my current "stock" rom. I'm going to try and find another site to download since that one will take 2 days on slow speed......

Afternoon Folks,
As many of you may know Xfinity just started supporting Android devices, specifically S8/S9/Note9/10/etc. I've been looking for a reason to switch from Verizon's higher cost points, and since Xfinity uses Verizons towers, and I already have Xfinity I figured I'll bundle them all together.
Yesterday, I wandered into an Xfinity store to get a sim card, and when they entered my IMEI, it returned with a "IMEI error - Hardware not compatible" error and was told they wouldn't be able to give me a sim. Now, I'm fairly confident that if I got my hands on a SIM, it'd work without issue.
Does anyone have any idea why my IMEI would come back as not compatible? It's an original phone that I purchased last August on release day. It's is an Unlocked Note 9 SM-N960U currently on the Verizon network, and hasn't been refurbished, or even dropped for that matter.
I'd really prefer not to go out and purchase a new phone just to use on their network. I have thrown around the idea of swapping my wife and I's phones (she has a S9), taking it in there and having them give me a SIM then just swapping it, but that sounds like a lot of work.
Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Paul

I flashed the Verizon firmware on it to get the HD video calling but that's it. It's not blacklisted. Not sure what you mean by locked.

I bought it outright from Amazon unlocked, would it be beneficial to reflash it back to nonbranded?

nah wont change a thing then. ure fone looks good to go.. no idea why rhey are having issues then.
It couldn't hurt. I bought mine from Xfinity Mobile and used the patched Odin to flash the U1 ROM and still have Xfiniity Mobile service.
Failing that, you should be able to use patched Odin to flash the Xfinity Mobile stock ROM.

but its the xfinity system that wont even register his iemi. not the phone that doesnt have service....
Until after flashing the Xfinity Mobile ROM, he takes it into another store, waits for the agent to say that the system won't recognize his IMEI, reboots the phone and asks the agent why, all the time showing the Xfinity Mobile boot animation, which should get the matter escalated.
Edited to add:
Their system is broken, when requesting SIM unlock codes for my wife and my Note 9s, the code I received for my phone via emailing, telephoning or walking into the local store did not work. All three requests resulted in the same code, which I had tried two out of the three times that you can enter an incorrect code before it locks for good.
The agent had to use the 'Unfreeze' code to unlock my phone, and gave me the unfreeze code for my wifes. I didn't try the unlock code but instead used the unfreeze code tied to her IMEI, and unlocked it on the first try.

I think I agree. The research I've done said an individual went in and they said they had to manually add their imei into the database then everything worked.
It's sad it's this difficult. -.-

Is there anything I need to verify between my phone and the firmware you linked to besides the of my note9? (Model Number: SM-N960U)

Upon consideration, as the firmware that I linked to, and used, is listed as an unknown carrier version, I am not sure how it knew to show the Xfinity Mobile boot animation, Was/ is there some kind of flag in another partition that the U1 firmware doesn't look for that the U firmware did?
Considering this, I now believe that it is not worth the risk trying that firmware.

Did you insert an XFinity SIM before or after flashing? I remember reading that if you factory reset your phone, Pie will read the SIM and brand it based on the service provider leading me to believe you already had an XFinity SIM inserted into the phone.

It was purchased from them, so that is the only SIM that I had.
You're probably going to have to do the SIM swap shuffle by using your wife's phone as the Bring Your Own Phone.
The reason it shows incompatible is because they don't support BYOD as yet official on xfinity mobile. You have to use an iphone for byod or buy the cheapest phone they have and then swap the sim card over. That is what my wife and I had to do when we switched back to Xfinity.

Firmware won't help because of all the US N960u/U1 devices being the exact same. Even the firmware files are the same. The U1 just doesn't have bloat apps. The boot screen you see is based on the last or current sim card entered into the device.

plus new firmware dosen't magically white list or have any impact on imei. so what every firmware is flashed, imei is unaffected, and moreover the Xfinity dosen't system still sees the same old number and dosent know what to do with it.

That can not be the case. I flashed the U1 firmware on my phone and I don't have the Xfinity Mobile boot animation, but I still have their sim in the phone
Also, Xfinity have altered their BYOP device list and the Note 9 is on there.

I'm just telling you my experience. It does vary from device to device sometimes.
As for them updating their byod....I hate them for that because we ended up having to buy two devices from them to get to use our note devices.???*
