Hey
Hopefully some photoshop pro's can give me some advice.
I have noticed that the size for wallpapers are 1600x1280 or 800x1280 but i have been trying to make the dark pie theme wallpaper fit my note, now i have set it to the above sizes, but it just looks awful once i set it.
First time photoshop user but it seemed quite easy to set the size you want in "IMAGE" but i am having a hard time getting it spot on for some reason.
Anybody be so kind to correct this for me, i will attach the image file. i was told psd file can be edited better or something which i also have but its like 60mb!
So appreciate any help or tips also.
Thank you.
Hello.
I'm not too sure but have you noticed when you select a wallpaper it has this blue grid (rectangle) box?
That might have something to do with it.

do you mean when you import it to photoshop? if so then yeah when i import the psd it does, but if i import just the image file it does not. I will try and find someone who can teach how to set it correctly. Very difficult to do but i am sure its easy for the pros in photoshop lol.

With Paint Shop Pro, Adobe Photoshop or any other piece of photo/picture editing software. Perhaps you could do it with mspaint.exe
omg, i have none.
A free one for you...

Works very well.....Paint Shop Pro and Adobe Photoshop are apps you have to pay for. This one is free....
Hi there,
i would like to create an Resident Evil Umbrella Corporation style theme for our droids, perfect would be an animated Umbrella Corp Logo live wallpaper.
Could anyone create a live wallpaper from this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzHcZabNGqw
Best would be if the Umbrella Corp letters on the left corner could disappear.
Thanks, would really be great
Download the video using any means.
Convert it to a bunch of images (pngs)
Use a batch rename program like (faststone) to rename em to 1.png,2.png,3.png....
Go in the nexus themes/apps section and look for my "Custom Lwp Script" or in market an app called Custom Lwp if i recall.
They both allow u to create lwp out of sequence of images.
Good Luck
Thanks for the hint
It gaves me 360 images in reduced quality, isn't maximum of images 300?

Hmm yes it is.
Either eliminate some while maintaining a smooth animation or get the app i was talking about from market "Custom Lwp" if i recall.

Reads the pictures from sd card, right? hmmm... not so good for card life, especially when running a desire hd rom which works half from sd, too.
i've notice that on the custom lwp it says that it must be the exact same size as the phone resolution but for live wallpapers like mariolive its scrollable would we be able to make scrollable LWP with this as well?
threads a little bit old but i was wondering if anyone knew how to convert a swf to individual png's frame by frame, searching google got me everything in reverse but nothing like i wanted

Quick version: no such thing.
Sent from my HDfied HTC Desire
and does anyone made it?
Actually pretty sure you can convert an swf to an avi and then convert that to individual pngs.
Avi to pngs can be done with gimp and the gap package.

Would drain your battery, but you can use Video Live Wallpaper.
Lets you set your own video as a live wallpaper.
as far as killing your SD Card, would you be able to push the files to your device internal storage?
Perhaps not, im not too familiar with your device.
Sorry if this doesn't work.
I have this icon I made in paint.
A .png icon that I used to replace the main widget icon for SMS Unread Count.
I don't know how to make the image all "background-less" you know?
I'll attach the icon. Can someone take away the black inside it, so it's only the white outlined icon that can be layered over any background.
I dunno how to explain that kind of image, but I think you know what I'm talking about.
Anyway, thanks.
how about I just make one for you,
what size does it need to be? (overall pixel dimensions)

Thanks. That one is 58 x 46.
I'd like it a little bigger. Let's try 62 x 50.
lets try 288x184.

But on my lockscreen, it's a taaaad too big.
Let's try 200 x w/e

I know what you mean. I just got Photoshop CS5 and it has tons of crap that I don't know anything about.
I have spent the last several hours downloading wallpapers from 4walled.org for my phone. The wallpapers look so nice on the computer, and I really wanted to start theming my phone with them.
So I've loaded up the 300+ wallpapers to my SD-card, and as I start browsing through them in the gallery, I have realized one immutable fact: they all look horrible. The gradients aren't really gradient, they're splotchy.
It was my understanding that this phone's LCD was capable of 24bit color? Perhaps it is not and this is where my woes are from. I have also noticed that .PNG backgrounds do seem to look better than the .jpg counterparts.
Any comments or wisdom into selecting backgrounds would be greatly appreciated.
I just looked at some of those images and they dont look that high quality to me. Maybe your monitor is older and made them look better than they are. Check here for some more. Maybe you will find some you like. http://wallbase.cc/start/
Look up "wallpaper set and save" on market, it will eliminate the color banding you get when you set a wallpaper through the gallery app.
Also make sure the resolution on any wall you get is a minimum of 960x800.
Sent from Thunderbolt.
I use fish bowl photo which will also eliminate the banding. dodol wallpaper maker works great for setting portrait wallpapers too.

Thank you for that site, I always used Interfacelift.net. Nice addition.
I regularly raid DeviantArt for backgrounds and use Wallpaper Wizardrii to set the wallpapers. WW allows you to set a properly sized background without cropping.

Do you prefer that over the Fish Bowl Gallery? And does it support high-resolution images?

I've never used Fish Bowl. I only just started using WW today, but I would think that the no crop feature would only work on a wallpaper that was at or below the correct size for the display.
its all about nik.bot.nu thanks for wallbase.cc tho, another site to lose large chunks of my life too lmao
I get my wallpapers from socwall.com. Thats where I found my current wallpaper.
Thanks for all the links and the info! I will surely check those out!

The wallpapers for Z1 are for example 960x800 .JPG (this is how I do and what I use), it will be impossible to select this wallpaper format without to crop them because they are made for landscapes. To select a full image without crop them for Lock Screen you have to use 480x800 .JPG format (480x800 you will crop just a little bit) or bigger one but you have to keep that scale! This is the solution. Try.

Sorry Proff but you don't make any sanse. Do not matter which format you will use for lock screen, if not for some quality which is good with 480x800, to not crop the pictures he has to understand to download the wellpaper in different scale to do it like he like.

Haha I don't make any sence.
Coming from a guy who tries to explain by using a totally wrong picture size to begin with.
Only way the guy is going to get a picture that is not stretched or pixelated is using 1080x1920 or bigger (ratio on 1080x1920 is:
Height is 1.777~ larger than width. That's why you say you only have to crop a little with 480x800. the ratio there is 1.666~.
You can have a smaller image than 1080x1920 and no crop, as long as you have the same ratio.
It will still look like sh**t.
Please don't tell me a stretched and cropped 480x800 is going to look good:silly:
And again, why do they have to be jpg?
Shazaib! What size is the image?

Without me he will never know what is all about because I did what I should to let you explain how it's work.
Anyway I just like JPG, that's all, and of curse have to be the right ratio, in my words I say "scale".
What I saying is all what I do, is not invented, so here is my lock screen with 480x800 format and to me look good.

I know, buy he didn't understood anyway, so 480x800 or 1080x1920, (NOT 1080x1980, sorry my bad!) he have just to choose which he want to use and go via Personalization > Lock Screen > Album. At last @benziii said the right things as well so I just said this again, even if with different format.
