Hi,
when i start my HTC One or update the information on blinkfeed its updating and freezing completely. I cant shut it down holding power button, only when i go via recovery. After factory reset its working again. I run o2 germany v1.27 and installed only some playstore apps. My music, videos, gif pictures and some backups were on the phone.
deactivated apps: 7digital, google maps and streetview, fb, twitter, best deals, chrome, ea games flat (deinstalled); play book, videos, music, google+, children mode, talk,
This is all i see when its starting/freezing:

Thx in advance
I give up. This phone wont start after adding some multimedia files. Maybe my o2 shop can give me a another one.:crying:
Maybe factory reset? That is very weird mine doesn't do that.

I tried this already 3 times and now i dont touch anymore until i take it to the shop. I think also im only one, who got this problem.
Hello,
I've received a brand new phone ( Swisscom Switzerland) today, first time starting, after 1 minutes it starts to freeze without any parameters.
I needed to hold power and volume down to restart.
I think my problem is very similar to yours...
I Tried to make a full charge, factory reset, remove sim card, but still freeze after a few minutes.
Any advice ?
I'll bring back to the shop monday, very disapointed...
Regards,
MT
Hi, on androidhilfe I asked too, but no one except me had this.
Best way is to give it to the repair.

Hey everyone, im having problems with my touchscreen, seems like its out of sync or could be broken, its like when im typing something on keyboard sometimes menu window pops up out of nowhere or if i press lets say on QWERTY keyboard letter "a" on text input box letter "z" appears :s ... even if i slide between homescreens sometimes my menu does pop up, i delivered my phone to waranty service they gave the phone back after 3days and all they did was reinstalled 2.1 i dont know what to do now :s im planning to send the device to waranty once again :/ or maybe i could repair this by myself somehow ? Couse warranty service guys did not find anything wrong with my device
Note: Reinstalling software, changing versions from 2.3 to 2.1 and calibrating screen dosnt help
Here's few screens of touch screen pointers:
RED - Where i actually slide
YELLOW - Where touch points leak

Sounds very much like your touchscreen is broken. Do a recovery backup, restore or install via KDZ an original rom, and take the phone to a service center, if it's under warranty. If not, maybe you can skip the backup part. Good luck.
had the same problem with my phone... it started very subtle but then got worse.. to the point where i couldn't unlock my phone anymore =( send it to warranty, they switched the touchscreen. just got it back today, working fine now. send it back and tell them your touchscreen is broken...
Thanks for response, unfortunetely thats exactly what i did, but they prolly couldnt find the problem, couse it starts only when u use phone a little, screen gets warmer, when its cold, no problem at all
So, recently, my battery life has gone to ****...mostly due to Android OS. I'm running MonsterRom 1.2. I just SBF'd the phone clean yesterday and restored apps via MyBackUp Root and TB. I made sure not to use a hand backup because I figured that would restore system settings causing the issue to re-surface. Any help would be much appreciated.
EDIT: I understand that this isn't a drained battery, but the volume of use remains proportional when the phone is nearly dead.

Me too
I've also had a similar problem on both copies of the droid 3 I own. Can't seem to find the answer. Anyone had any luck out there?
Looking into it further
There is a great thread here.
I installed betterbatterystats and turned off syncing for instant upload and Google Docs to see if that would help. Also, com.motorola.blur.service.sync.engine.wakelock.task seems to be a possible culprit on the wakelock side of things. It would be nice if we could put this problem to bed. Besides this and not being able to receive SMS with images in it (I think it's something to do with my provider, Koodo), I love this phone.
Assuming that the phone is rooted, download a app called battery calibration from the market, charge your battery to 100 percent or 4200mah,give the app root access and tap calibrate. You should be good. When changing roms it is important to calibrate your battery. Also you can do the same thing by booting to cwm recovery and erasing battery stats.

Possible progress here
Removing the calendar widget, docs sync, facebook sync and instant update seem to have made a significant improvement over the last couple of hours. I will update as I get more data.
I should note that I'm on .890, I have rooted and debloated except for blur (I want the calendar app unless someone else can suggest a better one), motoprint and task manager.
I received a phone call on my phone yesterday afternoon from the number +162599121 which tried to gain root access to something called data center on the phone. I didnt know what it was but I allowed it to pass through, though i did not pick the call.
Then when I got up this morning I saw this on the phone.

By any chance are these two related? Did some googling and found out that other people are also getting this but no one seems to know what it is. I'm from singapore running a rooted, but completely stock unbranded Samsung LSE ROM (Singapore CSC) and Speedmod kernel.
You are using 3g without any signal.. Amazing! Well never heard of this case that preconfig is requesting su permissions before at xda. It's a system file look at screenshot

Its pretty common to get 3G or even HSPA with zero bars here.
Anyway I found out that preconfig might have something to do with changing the CSC of the phone. Im already using a ROM with my region's CSC so there should not be a need for it. And I doubt samsung will try to change it in any way.

Hey all,
Droid 3 using Minimoto 1.7 (Safestrap install) here. I've been using the phone as normal for almost a year before this happened -

Can anyone help me figure out what this "streaming media" app is? I was using the internet as normal one day and suddenly I noticed it had gulped 100MB in a very short time. At that point I thought it might have been the Youtube app (which Advanced Task Killer reported was running in the background) streaming crap so I deinstalled the app (also turned off 'allow apps from unknown sources'), rebooted the phone, and very carefully browsed for a bit while checking the data usage frequently. Suddenly it had taken another 130 MB.
I only have 500MB per month which is my only non-work internet access and I watch it like a hawk. This "thing" has now eaten half of that. Extremely annoyed!
Right now the only thing I have installed that might be considered "streaming media" is Soundcloud, which I haven't even run in a couple months. I'm getting worried about malware, etc. as I have no idea what this is nor what it's doing. I've never seen that show up in the data logger before. BTW the data logging app is My Data Manager but I have confirmed the extra data use appears on my bill, i.e. it is 'real' data and not just a bug in the app. I have "auto update apps" turned off in the Play Store and the "system updates" screen comes up blank (didn't think Minimoto would 'pull in' updates anyway?)
Also, I put my SIM card back in my old phone (HTC Dream running Android 1.5) and it works just as it always did with no unexplained data. At this point I don't want to get the Droid online at all for fear that it would gobble up the rest of my data and go over. (I thought of running something like Avast or Malwarebytes but it seems they are only legitimately available from the play store which means the phone must be online - argh!)
Any help appreciated - thanks in advance!
Hi
I know mykindle is old but my autistic son uses it and he cannot handle change thus still using it.
I have no idea how this has happened at all. BUt now it seems when I reboot the device, the notifications bit has a notice saying "tap to access launcher debug settings".
When I tap this it takes me to those settings (which I have never seen before in any of the settings area) and I can quit out of it.
Why is this happening and is it a sign of a bigger problem?
Just to be clear, while I do have ADB enabled (in case I brick it and need to use kindle-unbrick in the future) nothing else is unusual. It is not rooted and I have never put a custom rom/system/launcher on it at all.
I can only guess that this change has accurred because either a game I have installed has tweaked something, or, a particular tablet-crash has pushed this into being.
So is it a problem? Can I stop it? Why has it happened?
Any thoughts would be massively appreciated please.
Thank you.
Alex
Hello. Sorry for the late reply. Anyways, I'm happy to help you. I also use a Kindle Fire HD 7 2012, so you can expect the best results. IDK the reason of the problem, it appeared in the same way as yours. But the fix is so simple, take a closer look at it:

Long-tap at the notification (some program appeared at the top, don't pay attention to it):
Tap "Manage Notification", as the arrow above suggests.
So, you must have the same screen, applications may differ. Tap the "Off" toggle in the right corner after the "Launcher", as arrow suggests, and go to the home screen. When you will look at notifications, a message must disappear.
If you experience any further problems, let me know. I'll try to respond in my free time.
And thank you for posting the question, without it I couldn't solve it (really).
Have a nice day!
HTH,
