I have a basics down of flashing roms. My bootloader is unlocked. I have the TWRP recovery.
But I want to S-OFF because it's easiar to flash roms and since I'm going out of the country I need to Sim - Unlock.
I haven't found any clear instuctions on how to S-Off. I'm going to use Juopunutbears tool.
I have ubuntu 12.04 32 bit installed. But I'm not entirelly sure what a stock RUU? Is it just a stock 4.0.1 rom? Is there a step by step video on how to S-off and sim-unlock?
Thanks!
DID IT!
59 views and no one said anything? Lol. Just find the S-Off thread in the development section and follow the instructions from the site you are directed to. You will need to revert back to stock using the RUU(.exe). I used Windows for that. It's all on the site

If youre reverting to stock via RUU, relock your bootloader. Run the RUU while connected in fastboot. Use the S-Off all in one located in I think its dev section, no ubuntu necessary, works in windows & has instructions. Super easy

Awesome thanks, that's much more clear. Though I still have to use Juopunutbears tool because Hassoon stopped the development on the s-off tool.

being that we only have one s-off method, hassoon's toolkit was using this method for s-off. It does suck that the toolkit is gone, but everything it did is completely doable without..

Is there a way to return to the Vivid to the stock form that AT&T sells? I know how to relock the boatloader, but I don't see a true, stock AT&T Rom (like with CIQ and bloatware) that I can flash.

In the second post of slapshot's sticky in Vivid Development he explains how to return to stock. It's the RUU that you're looking for. You will have to relock your boatloader for it to work I believe.

I've had a few people ask me how to flash radio so here it is:
Download the newest Radio here: http://d-h.st/Idf
put the PG32IMG.zip on the root of your sd card then reboot into HBOOT.
HBOOT will detect the file and install it for you its that simple!
thanks to ragzdincs for the link and inferi0r for hosting it
This is much safer than PG32IMG method right?

This no safer or worse than the bootloader method, it's just the bootloader does it for you rather than manually typing the command.
While appreciate people need help, there are a lot of these threads popping up in the dev section explaining very specific problems. There is a Q&A forum for a reason, please keep topics in this forum related to dev only.

Not really. Sometimes when you want to flash PG32IMG, it does'nt work. And the cause for that is the cid. If you're cid is not in the android-info.txt, bootloader won't recognize the zip. To check cid, use this command 'fastboot getvar all' and see your cid number.

I don't understand why you use this method.. There is a much more faster method there you just put the radio zip in the root of the memory card and boot into bootoader (it will auto. loade som files) then it will ask you if you want to update the Radio and you accept that by pressing volyme up, then just w8 for it will finnished,

Radio_20.72.30.0833U_3831.17.00.24_M is the latest, and you can test for yourself. If you don't like the new one you can flash the old again.

s-off isnt available. You dont need s-off to flash roms and kernels. You need root and your bootloader unlocked. Plenty of threads about how. look for hasoons toolkit.

i don't think it is for the One
in time you will probably get it, but quicker and like the One S you'll get radio installers like Tecardo's and MrHydes that require no s-off. Some put the radio into System partition a way to bypass not having s-off
One S has no s-off but with these tools from the devs, no problem

Unrevoked is not for this device. It was initially developed for Evo 4g (unrEVOked). That thread was linked for clarification of ramifications of s-off. Generally you need s-off to update radios.

Is there any way you could help me understand why Moonshine isn't working for me? I'm on 1.08, unlocked bootloader, rooted, and I have CWM (not sure if the custom recovery matters). I plug it in with the OEM Cable and USB Debugging on as instructed. However, when I run Moonshine, it goes as far as Test 3 and then it starts running through several rows of dots.
Edit: Scratch that. I figured out that all I needed to do was turn off my Firewall. So, now that I have S-Off, how do I go about flashing it back to the Stock ROM/Recovery?

As a followup to this, does anyone have a copy of the stock recovery? It looks like the OTA updates don't work with CWM.

Since you have s-off I don't know why you want a stock ROM/recovery. Either the v1.08 or v1.04 zips will install with CWM (not TRWP last I tried). http://www.androidruu.com/?developer=Myst

about kernel
Hey guys im new to the forum, i got this phone from ebay, its just what i need, btw i like dev so maybe thats why i picked a htc, well the thing is i installed jmz's kernel amazing stuff but i wanted to go back to stock kernel to try differents roms, im s-off with ub and using cwm, i tried to compile the kernel source (i use ubuntu 13.04) with no luck at all, it looks like its about the toolchains, but well is there a kernel that i can just install it with cwm as a zip?
pd: sorry bout my english im from Chile :highfive:
I decided to randomly check my phone and noticed although I am "Tampered" & "Unlocked", my phone now says S-On. It use to say S-Off. So my question is, what steps do i take to regain S-Off? My phone runs great with my custom rom. I just dont want to run into any future problems if and when i decide to flash something else. Thank you in advance for any help given.
