How to revert xperia x8 to official rom - XPERIA X8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have installed a custom rom to my xperia x8, i think its mini cm9, and the phone is crashing and slower than replay..
It takes approximately 10 seconds from the moment you touch the app drawer icon to get inside the app drawer..
I've tried all wipes and still no difference..
I'd like to revert back to the official rom of the phone and i would appreciate your help in doing so..

use pc companion to restore it into official rom..eclair

Flash using flashtool the E15 Stock Rom/Kernel .ftf file, it's simple. You'll get all the factory back, without root. I think it's the easiest way... You could find this in the Android Development section, just search and you will find.

Thanks mates for all your answers..
Is there a difference between pc companion and tsuarwr's way?
I think i have cyanogen's jelly bean custom rom for x8.. Do i need to do anything before using pc companion, or i can use pc companion right away?

Trust me, Flash is much more faster then using pc companion to revert to stock. And, man what you wanna do? Restore to the stock or install a cm JB rom? by the way, read this carefully:
First: To revert to stock, flash back the old e15 using flashtool, you can find it just searching around development section.
Second: To install a Jellybean you need a Jelly Bean kernel, you won't run a jb using stock kernel (sony ericsson one), use a kernel like nAa-jb or oxydo. For a ICS rom, use a kernel compatible like nAa-ics or alfs-ICS. Don't try to install a rom (even jellybean or ics) on stock kernel, just use eclair (stock) or Froyo (FroyoPro is one good) or Gingerbread rom.
Hope help you.

[Q] Can bootloader be unlocked with GDX v025?

I read this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1436957
but i don't have the stock ROM, and was wondering if i can unlock the bootloader on GDX v025. I have a W8 with 11W20 and i plan on installing MiniCM9. Also, i read this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24304432
What does he mean about flashing it to Gingerbread ROMs? I'd appreciate the help.
And is getting the stock ROM as simple as downloading it and then flashing it with CWM? and will i need to update it to the latest basebands or is there one already updates that's available?
Thanks

It's is highly advisable to be on stock ROM. Just flash it via PCC/SEUS. Why this is required , I don't know. But always people recommend unlocking on stock ROM. I too would therefore recommend the same. Get back to stock ROM
Don't risk it by unlocking on GDx v025
What he means that the kernel is meant for ICS ROMS only and is NOT meant for GB or stock ROMS
Another thing
So...
1) Flash Stock Rom using SEUS (will this be the one with the latest baseband and will my phone still be rooted?)
2) Unlock Bootloader while on Stock Rom (as stated here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1436957)
3) Flash ICS kernel while on Stock Rom (as stated here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24304432)
4) Flash MiniCM9 (as stated here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1575094)
Am i right?
Also, is it necessary to install all to Google Apps which nAa has provided a link to?
And where does the currently rooted state of my phone lie in all of this?
Thanks

Not sure about SEUS , but if you use PCC , your phone gets unrooted.
I guess both ways, you have to root again. But that's not a cumbersome task. Just use superoneclick and then place xrecovery files in /system/bin
Just make sure that after flashing the kernel , you flash the ROM directly after it. If you reboot your phone after flashing the kernel , you will encounter a soft brick.
It is not necessary , but recommended. I would suggest that you flash Gapps (Google Apps) , and then manually remove the applications you do not want by using apps like "Root Uninstaller" from the Play Store.
I did not understand your last question.
I am 99.999% sure of what all I told you is correct. However , since I have a locked bootloader , I might have missed somewhere (I'm sure I have not though)
I unlocked my 11w18 with GDX , no problems

[Q] Is it safe to unlock bootloader from a custom Rom?

Hi, I am a NooB and I'm really sorry if this is the wrong section.
I recently upgraded from Eclair to GingerXperia Revolution v1 and I must say I quite like this ROM.
It was very fast when clean installed it has slowed down after a while, but still I would keep this Rom but there are issues with tethering and wifi hotspots which are crucial to me.It probably is the best rom for stock kernel, but maybe it's time for me to change my kernel and try some of the better roms. No need to post step by step manual as how to do it as I found it on xda already (thanks good people fom here)
Ok
My specs:
Xperia x8
E15i shakira
Band xxx015
11w01 (i know how cool is that lol)
GingerXperia Revolution Rom (installed via rooting/xrecovery)
26.2.9. Kernel (im noob so I dont know if this is stock kernel or custom, please explain)
*Now is it safe to attempt to unlock bootloader from those specs? or do I need to do it from Eclair 2.1 (which would be extra hassle)
*Or is it even worth it? I want to put on miniCM7 so for that I'll need nAa kernel I think.
*Will my current rom run when I change to kernel to nAa?
*Is there a way to speed up my x8? Like I heard that you can partition your sd card and allocate some as internal memory,is that true? If yez wouldnt that help greatly?
Thank you everyone for your time.
Do it from eclair. It's safer. And performance-wise, you will see a change in performance using a custom kernel.
After changing kernels and rom, let's talk tweaks. I'm not one for swapping though, but it does seem to boost performance from all i've read.

[Q] how to revert back from 4.1.2 rocket rom to 1.0.4 ics unrooted state

Hi Guys,
Hey i was testing many Jb roms such as ultimate JB and rocket rom.
Now since i noticed that JB had just a battery back up of one day I want to revert back to my good old ICS 4.0.4.
I have downloaded mobile Odin pro. I just wanted to know , if I flash ICS 4.0.4 for my country (taken from sammobile) will i be able to unroot and claim warranty / or be able to revert to stock samsung ICS and get my samsung software updates as usual ?
It would be really nice if someone could help me on this .
thanks in advance.

as Shyam replied earlier, yes you can do with PC Odin.
Depends on your purpose. Are you still going to use it for your personal use ? or are you going to sell back to Samsung ?
If you are going to sell back to samsung / claim for warranty (if your current state need any claim of it).
If you are going to sell back to Samsung / claim your warranty, better you just flash back original firmware (can be downloaded from samfirmware.com) with PC Odin. You should need around 5 minutes (plus-minus) to flash it back.
By doing this, you will loose your root, get original firmware (ROM), with original (stock) kernel. Once you are on pure stock kernel, please do not do any wipe data, as I believe you know the consequences.
But if you want to keep root (and use it for personnal), you can use Mobile ODIN. But you have to check first which version is running on JB rom, since according to you, you are now on JB custom rom. My understanding, earlier mobile ODIN doesn't work on JB rom.
If you don't want the hassle of doing so, Just :
Flash back original firmware (download from samfirmware.com), with PC Odin
Once boot up on ICS, go to stock recovery (Vol UP+Power+Home), flash Philz Kernel. (you will get root + CWM). You can refer to Philz thread, and download his correct kernel for your ICS built number.
Good Luck!

Hi cistamlaka, be aware that it is your uncle's phone, not yours. So I would be very careful on rooting and upgrading to a different rom. If he is on a stock 2.3.3, I think (because I had it) there is an update to 2.3.6. It fixes a couple of lags.
If you root him the phone and push some new rom onto it, he might be confused because he will lose the TouchWiz and some applications. Check first with him, what applications (and if some Samsung-made) he uses and if he is okay to change the looks of the phone.
Isnt it right that he has only to download a file and change it to "update.zip" to flash it via stock recovery? A friend of me needs that file, is it the same to use as on sgs plus (i9001)?
