How i can root my LG P970-V20a???

Hi! How i can root my LG-V20a. I have official firmware for Baltics. Thanks for any solutions.

First of all, since you're new to this board please read the Welcome To The LG Optimus Black Section..... (Please Read If You're New)
Also, read the [HOW TO]The Big N00B how-to! since it will answer most of your questions.
Second, if you would have searched you would have found your answer already, but i'll help you (i'm in a good mood today ).
So, for general Rooting look at [Q] How to root P970 Gingerbread V20N it's vor the V20N version but it mostly applies to any version.
Regarding the question (that will follow soon) how to flash the firmware, look at THIS
P.S. if i manage to find a patched V20A i'll post here, for now i only found V20B, V20N , V20E and V20O that are patched and rooted.

I try all root app, and no one work with me, always access denied.

i have a [COLOR="Black"]optimus black[/COLOR] v20b and i want to root!!!! please dont to redirect me to noob how to thread and other ob rooting related thread!!!
so i have a couple of queries
is rooting still working with lg esteem method for gb(i used it for froyo) and if yes i want links and how too
i am comfortable with flashing a custom rom via smart flash tool so give a link to valid file(i downloaded a file from other thread it said it was 200 something mb but the download completed at 168 mb and file was corrupted, so a valid file or a link
any other method___________________________
my reason for rooting
1 phone over heating
2 too much sh*tstone apps into the stock rom
3 custom roms for ics etc
4 over clocking
5 super user access(MEH!!!!)
6 some awesome plugins like beats audio etc
AND I PLZ SOMEONE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can understand that forum got a bit clumpsy to look for desired informaion, but it was not so much hard. Here you go :-
1. Download PATCHED_BIN_LGP970-V20b-CIS-MAR-05-2012-by-Snegovik.7z(http://www.getzilla.net/files/3111935/patched_bin_lgp970_v20b_cis_mar_05_2012_by_snegovik.7z.html) and extract it somewhere in root of C or anywhere of your computer.
2. Download SmartFlashTool_External.rar(http://www.mediafire.com/?eia8r5bgid97ejq) and extract it somewhere in root of C or anywhere of your computer.
3. Download Superuser.zip (http://www.mediafire.com/?a1re78800owv3aj) and copy it in root of your SD-cart!! DO NOT EXTRACT!!
4. Download and install LG_Drivers (http://www.mediafire.com/?3344hoszoczbt6q)
5. Power-off LG Optimus Black
6. Press and Hold Volume + Button and insert your USB cable.
7. You'll Enter to Upgrade mode and see S/W upgrade please wait while upgrading
8. Run B_SmartFlashTool_Extern.exe
9. Choose ROM copy D/L bookmark
10. Choose CP file: [PATCHED]V20B_CIS.bin
11. Choose AP file: V20B_DEU.fls
12. Click Start
Go to WC or make coffe or tea , or do whatewer you need , Do not stay near your computer
13. After successfully flashing
phone will reboot recovery
14. Wipe all data/factiry reset
15. Flash Superuser.zip
16. Reboot system now

Thats All! Congrulations!
After this your mobile should reboot and you will be with 2.3 Vb with super user.

Warning : you may brick your mobile but I rooted mymobile like this so its safe if you follow instructions carefully.

Try the Zeus 6.39 ROM...U will be surprised with the features..
Till now, it's the ultimate and the best ROM of Gingerbread
If you would like ICS (camera not working), try Free Optimus Project ROM

I Dont like the interface of many out of box android roms i just love my optimus ui.. and i have never used a motorola ui (cant remember what its called?!!!)
So is there a rom like motorola for optimus or touch wiz w/ ics?? Would Really love it!!! Other than that what are the substitutes,,
i used cyanogen's gb rom (cm 7 maybe)
I was left with a blunt rom with nothing really hated it..
So if a add a lg home launcher apk into the zeus rom and delete the zeus one will it work... as i said optimus ui has some great feature like catagories and looks

Hi @ all
now that LG has officially released JB for our device,
I would really like to see the available .kdz files
in some thread to download, because
I installed the unofficial V20A on my phone
which leads into the situation that I cant
update to official V20A through LG Mobile Support Tool :silly:
Would be nice if someone could do that

I found one myself through the rom linker by cmahendra,
but I think it would be way easier if they would be right here
in the original android development section as downloads
(or links)
One last question: If I make a backup through Orange Backup
and then officially unlock the device, am I able to get back all of my
data partition on the official V20A with unlocked bootloader?

Its enough to use the LG Backup that you have installed on the phone.
Off course some apps, like Navigon, RealRacing3 or others like that that you might have, will need to download data again in order to work again but,
most part of the apps will be working. Also contacts, messages, etc... check the options on the "Backup".

Tested on my LG P700

Flashing from CM10 now ,will update how well it works when it finishes.
Update: Screen weirdly flashed somewhere at the end of flashing ,it went for 5min then I disconnected phone ,though I noticed I had new CMW ,when I turned phone in I think i had bootloop ,so I am reflashing it again. I wouldnt suggest flashing from cm10 now
Update: Wiped data e.t.c. in CMW and booted it ,works fine now.

ROMs that are not created by OP shouldn't be posted in Android Development section. It's nothing but share, so your judgment isn't 100% correct.

No. It's for highly original creations such as kernels, official CMs, AOKP etc. Basically when something is not modded within a zip file it can be classified as original development. Developer needs to build from source and know what is she/he doing (programming related) to post in original dev section.

if someone have the same problem i solved it :
do a reset, turn the phone on , uncheck the wi-fi and mobile networks , skip the Google account, set everything up later. =D

why some apps remove ? what is the reason ?

[Q] Help for bricked phone

Hi there, I'm aware this forum isn't for support so would like to know where would be the appropriate forum to direct my post!
Basically, I bricked my LG Optimus 4X HD (p880) phone after following the instructions to root my phone from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1818502
Here's what I did:
Followed the instructions in the XDA LG Optimus 4X thread (from the link above) to root my phone
Installed Clockwork Recovery Mod
Tried to restart phone in recovery mode
Phone can't start anymore, and shows the following error message:
[LGE_SECURITY] ERROR: boot image signature
Critical failure: Unable to start kernel
Unrecoverable bottloader error (0x00000002)​
Grateful for any assistance. Thanks!

Thanks! The link to the 3 apps is dead though. Any idea what are the 3 apps so I can download the 3 apps elsewhere? I've managed to download the KDZ file.
