Hello FixMyProblems, thank you for the guide.
I have a problem, when i press Volume Down + Home + Power, nothing happens, than i pressed Volume Up + Home + Power, and the Odin recognized my phone, and i do everything as you say in the first post, but Odin stuks on: "<ID:0/004> SetupConnection..".
I have the same problem. as @kenshiro1.
No matter what I try, my device is always being recognised but downloading stuff to it always fails. It just hangs everytime. I also tried with Kies but there I'm always stuck at the "connecting" screen. I really don't know what to try anymore...

What is this mode and is it of any use ?
Bump, I need an answer on this too (I felt bumping this thread was better than creating a new one)
I've had the same problem. I've solve it by flashing it with odin3 and a spanish unlocked rom. If you do this use the 3 files, not only the pda. If you want i can give you the links to the files i've used.
Will you please, i need it to !
Thanks!

I am having the same issue. I am on Samsung Galaxy S - GT-I9000T - apparently a latin america version.
I am from GUAM though.
We dont have a Guam regionalized ROM.
SO I need that link if u got it.
Need all three files, not just the PDA... please include link to csc and phone as well. TY
Hi guys,
unfortunately i have the same problem. Did someone figure out how to solve it??. I am just able to get to " FORCED UPLOAD by KEY PRESSING mode ". At that point my phone can connect with odin but somehow i cannot send any files....it stops at "Setup Connection" .
Any idea??
I have the same issue - phone doesn't boot as normal, I can't get to Download mode, not to Recovery mode. Only Upload mode is accessible.
Odin detects device in upload mode, but stucks at "analyzing files..." using Odin 1.0, or at "Settuping connection" using Odin 1.3
Please help
I found out how to get into recovery mode: Press VOL UP + VOL DOWN + HOME + POWER
BOWS
I bow to you man !.. thanks for that tip !.. I was stuck with that fatal 'Too many pattern attempts flaw' ...And Samsung Care was asking me to shell out money for hard resetting my galaxy i5801.... Thanks man !!.. I owe you one !!! cheers !!!
im stuck on FORCED UPLOAD by KEY PRESSING, i believe i was running files from different phone when it happened, but now idk what to do yet..
I read some tutorials here in the forum on how to root your phone! I was able to successfully perform. Until that point, my phone was still booting android 2.3.3 (ginger) that came from the factory.
Then I went into recovery mode and installed 5.0.2.6 ClockworkMod! Installed successfully too! Then I tried to install some roms modified for the S5830I, as read on the internet that the roms of them are compatible with the S5830C.
I tried the first version of the ICS lite and basic, the two images, when installed by clockwork gave no error messages in the terminal, but when you restart the machine could not boot the system.
I installed and booted each version of the ICS modificias separately. I tried other roms. gave some errors "gep.prop" because of non-compatibility with my model. In the end, tried to use the method with ODIN, but my phone can not boot the mod download! Yes, I tried all the tutorials!
I know I need to press the home button, power, volume down (...) I tried to use the ADB "adb reboot download", and also got no answer!! So ODIN does not detect my phone! Percebir also that the recovery mode always resets to a version e3 (I think it is the factory default recory) with this recovery can not seem to wipe the cache or data.
Really broke my phone? Why the hell i can get a good status of installation with the roms but can not boot them?
It's a classic
Yes you did break your phone, unless you try this last trick:
take out your battery
wait until your phone is completly uncharged internally (an hour or so)
go to a hot place like a radiator or somthing like that
do the "download mode trick" with the battery still out
put the battery in while still holding the buttons
repeate if it doesnt work
when you get the downloadmode, you are a lucky person. the rest you seem to know how it works... simply flash a new rom
I hope it works!

Firstly, you should know custom roms for "cooperve" are designed to run only on Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830i and not on Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830. Only custom roms for "cooper" are designed to run on Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830. Due to hardware differences, running cooperve roms or kernels on Samsung Galaxy Ace can brick your phone. Sadly you have bricked your phone. But @SuperMini has provided us with a rather simple guide on how to unbrick Samsung Galaxy Ace. Go through the entire thread and you will get to know all the possible solutions. Here is the link,

Hello everyone,
I've been using this community for a while, but this is my first post. One or two months ago I successfully rooted my Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 and installed Imaginary ICS Final along with CWM Recovery 5.0.2.6. Everything worked fine but today I decided to update to a 4.4 custom rom. I installed CM 11 from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2659269, but after selecting my language a popup apeared which said "The setup aplication has stopped working", so I looked for another ROM. I found this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2684893, but it required TWRP Recovery to be installed. I downloaded it, copied it to my SD and tried to install it form CWM 5.0.2.6.
Now, my phone goes into a blue screen whether I try to boot normally or into the recovery menu and I don't now how to solve it. Since I can boot into download mode, I've tried using Odin, but it doesn't recognize my phone. Can anyone help me, please? Thanks a lot in advance.
PS: I'm using Windows 8.1 x64.
EDIT: Now Odin recognizes it, but it gets stuck in "<1> setup connection...".
EDIT 2: I've solved it flashing through Odin with a PC running a clean installation of Windows 7.

You usually get the "setup connection" error when you are in the Emergency Download Mode instead of Download Mode. You go to Emergency Download Mode by holding down Volume Up + Volume Down + Home Button + Power Button in which it loads a screen that says "Emergency Download Mode" and you go to Download mode by holding down Volume Down + Home Button + Power Button in which it does load the correct download screen with the yellowish message that say "Downloading…". Please make sure you are going to the Download Mode. Then try to flash again. Do post the result. Hope I Helped

when u have successfully installed the stock rom from Odin, go to recoverymode, then to clockworkmod, remove cahe and dalvik data and then install the rom that u want.
This shud do as it worked for me..
