Xperia tx battery y Q - Sony Xperia T, TL, TX, V

Xperia tx do you think the battery is fine? Or media server and android system missbehaving?

Looks ok, games use a lot of power.

you see that the game took only 9% but the media server and android system took all the battery away!

Hey dears, I just noticed a very annoying fact on Power Management in Settings
on 18h of On Battery usage, now the battery meter shows that Screen On just has used the battery of 25%, and the more surprising fact is that "Android System", which includes some packages like "Extension For Throw" and "WFD", eats up 45%!!!!!!
can you check yours?!!!
is that normal?!!!
I'm totally stock, .67 Hong Kong, Unlocked, stock kernel, just removed bloatwares....

i've removed the corresponding app, i'ts not even installed, let alone consuming battery, the only mirroring app is Throw itself, which is always off, i don't use it much of an often
it's weird, never saw this with a bunch of phones i had, especially Xperias

It's easy to know what eat battery, it Sony system itself
If U don't want system eat a lot decompile framework and remove app like Throw or any app that you doesn't use it
XD
Also removing bloatware help though if you don't wanna play with framework
Same on my XTX. I have check my friend's XS and the Android System is not on the top of the list but the Screen. So I believe that there must be something wrong with my settings. Hope I can solve it here.
I got this problem too, my TX got a full day with normal use, check power management and Android System load about 45%, higher than screen usage, but a few days ago when I just bought this phone I got about almost 2 days of full use, and Android System just at 20%.

I've removed the bloatwares, EVERYTHING you can think of, just the Throw is still there, which i don't use it at all, and WFD, it's weird
So, here comes a question, if i remove a bloatware, but i haven't edit Framework, will that app still consume battery?!!
obviously the answer is "No", because the app has been removed, but what you said made me think this way....
and one other thing, any suggestion or solution for it?

No more solution for now =(
Reboot can fix, but sometimes media server can eat a lot of battery
Also our display if 1st eat a lot of battery
You can use peetr rom, like promising for Xperia T, but you need patch to using it on TX
I'm too lazy to testing it, I will trying figuring what eat battery on TX
The 1st culprit is Android System, Media server and display
But I'm going to ignore display, since we use almost display everyday
XD
So, the conclusion is Android System and Media server for my case

[Q] Battery drains too fast while playing

Hi guys I'm new here and I just xperia sp a month ago. My problem is when i play games ( wild blood and dead trigger ) the battery drains too fast, at 5 to 10 minutes of play time it drains like 10 sometimes 20% of the battery and also when browsing in internet. But when I just use it normally like texting or calling it doesnt drain that much, and can go for 1 to 2 days without charging. My only problem is when gaming, it drain alot and fast. Is that normal in xperia sp? and sometimes it also gets too hot while playing. Thanks
edit; By the way I'm still using the old .257 fw, i havent updated to .254 yet. And i havent done anything on my sp yet except install those 2 games. Could I just upgrade directly to .254 and bypass .245 update. Because in my notification in only says .254 update.
Thanks
My old PSP has a 1800mah battery and it holds about 3 hours of gametime. Mind you, it has a 333mhz processor which is nothing compared to the dualcore Snapdragon. Also it doesn't have many background processes or an antenna for mobile signals.
1-2 hours of gametime = dead battery. Thats pretty normal.

mute all the sounds from the game setting and the drain will be half.
means games sound should be turned off from games setting not phones ganeral setting
Turning on Airplane mode also saves battery at about 5-10% while playing.
When U want to play with sound. Use your headphones.
Dont forget thats a phone. Not playing console. So 2 hours from 100% till 0 when playing its pretty good.
thanks guys
On my old Xperia Play I used to lower Cpu frequency. Sounds odd but in reality most of games don't need full speed.
When you start game systems turns on full power which drains battery. If you lower Cpu to 1GHz it will give some more juice and you can play smoothly still.
I play Dungeon Hunter 4 or Real racing 3 on 800 MHz
Try different speeds and see what is optimal for you.
And don't forget to dimmer your screen as well.

Battery life?

Hi guys, I have a question about the xperia zr, how is the battery? gsmarena posted some impressive results, but how about in real life, can if get 5-6 hours of screen-on time? my gt-i8730 can do 6 hours normally, how does this act? thanks )
Yes.. for me it lasts for a long time screen on
you may check my review on the 4.3 FW
• Battery Life Test •
------------------
-These tests depends on my own usage ,so it may differ depends on everyone's usage-
• Average Usage •
it lasts for 1 Day and 13 Hours with average usage
~4:30 Hrs Talk Time
~23 Hrs Wi-Fi On
~3 Hrs Screen On (Chatting ,Browsing and downloading)
• Heavy Usage •
it lasts for 10 Hours with continuous heavy usage on medium brightness with the auto enabled
~5 Hrs Screen On (Chatting and Browsing)
~8 Hrs Wi-Fi On (using it even when the screen is off)
~2 Hrs Talk Time

Yes it's very impressive!! Let's say, you can reach evening without any problems even with medium/heavy usage. With "medium/heavy" I mean if you turn on GPS for 20 minutes navigating, 24 hours of wifi/data switched on, 1 hour of browsing, and texting all the day. But the very impressive thing for me is that if you play 1 full hour with a heavy game such as riptide, the battery doesn't fall down, you will lose only a 6-8% of battery. I tested the battery with cyanogenmod 11 and stock 4.3, well, the stock firmware battery usage is better by far!!

I'm pretty sure you're guaranteed at least 6-7+ hours of general on-screen usage, assuming you don't have a thousand things forcing every CPU core to be at max load.
I bought the phone having read the gsmarena battery benchmark results for it, and I can say from experience that they don't come close (as in, worse). Same for the standby time on the phone is not what is stated by Sony/GSM but of course it's still a pretty amazing phone, for me I bought it for the supposed crazy good battery life (11:20 hours constant web browsing? I get half that) which isn't an improvement from my old phone so probably going to sell it.

gaming will drain the battery more quickly, but that's the normal for every device
but for internet usage it lasts with me for 10 Hours
~5 Hrs Screen On (Chatting and Browsing)
~8 Hrs WiFi On (using it even when the screen is off, downloading, VOIP..etc)
~2 Hrs Talk Time

I searched for your problem, here what i get :
The media server application indexes all your media on the phone.
Its common that if you transfer media files to your phone that the power consumption of the media server will go up but only for a short period of time. This is necessary, otherwise app's won't be able to find your newly imported media.
But in your case, since you seem to be having troubles with the media server app constantly consuming battery. I think that you may have a/or several corrupt media files in the phone or on your SD card. Causing the media server app to constantly trying to index files.
Just to do a quick test, try to copy all your important media and other files to your computer then delete them from your phone or do a format on your storage memories and check if you still experience this.
If you don't, the problem is as I suspected a broken or corrupt media file. The hard part is to figure out which one.

And while searching i found some app that might fix your problem (it requires Root permission) , it's called Mediaserver Killer, get it on Google Play Store
i didn't test it but there is some positive feedbacks about it

Mediaserver is an apps running in background. So Check which apps you installed recently. Uninstall then.
Normally Utter, proximity sensor on/off, open mic+,. Wifi GPS seeking apps, This are just example. Find out.
I had same problem two month before. I don't remember exactly which app was causing problem but I unstalled some of them and got result.

[Q] my ZR's extremely battery consumption, how can i fix it?

my ZR has a abnormal battery consumption recently(and also abnormal heating) , and i found that the android system and media ate my battery most(about 20% and 25% , the screen is 12-15%). May the problem caused by Battery aging or other reason? hope that there are some ways to fix it. :crying::crying:
The ratio's of the battery consumption does't depend on the age of the battery.
I suggest you first install betterbatterystats to narrow down the problem:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809&styleid=21
Betterbatterystats wil log your wakelocks, cpu states, deepsleep, etc.
I'm on Carbonrom and my battery drain is between 2 and 3% per hour.

u have a unlocked bootloader?
Yes, because carbon ROM is based on cyanogenmod an does nog work with the stock kernel from Sony.
Unlocking the bootloader is requiered to flash a kernel with fastboot.

Check if there are corrupted media files (music, photos or videos) in your phone or SD card.
It's usually the cause for media server to eat your battery.

Also, in some case, the android system eats my battery sometimes(about 25%, the screen is 10-15%). Why does it happen?
Android system is a collection of several services. With Betterbatterystats you can examine witch service is causing the drain.

Regarding with the battery life, from last night after the update, my battery life is at 24% and im using it right now while listening to music. with couple of games like 30min + Clash of Clans and web browsing, i dont find any issues regarding with the battery.

You can just uncheck wipe data It's always a good idea to clean flash an OS update. Oh well.
No idea about contact sync? The overheating settled, but I'll have to see. Overall, really good work from Sony. No Location based Wifi, but apparently they made changes to scanning that makes location based wifi defunct, lol. I only wish the long press on toggles worked as well, but they seem to have removed it everywhere, so no complaints I guess. Camera frame rate has suffered in the new firmware though, not as smooth as it used to be.
That's weird, my status bar and battery stats are always blue. Are they supposed to be different for everyone? Even in whatsapp my status bar is blue...
