I don't know what is the problem for Android or not?
During I listen to the music, the notifications pop it up. My music is silent; instead getting fade down...
It seems like a minor issue for you guy, but it interrupt me a lot when my friend storm a comment on my Facebook.
how can I fixed it? I would like to fade it down and continue my music instead of mute and play it again.
Nice question, this annoys me also. But I have just always put up with it.

This was never an issue with my X10 and I cnanot find a way to change this behavior.
Just because I get a notification, I do not need the music to stop. This is app independent, it is like the OS notifications will stop all other sound.
How can I stop this behavior?
i dont think you can. If the music didn't stop how would you hear the notifications. Don't you want it to stop the music for incoming calls... well its the same principle.

I can hear it because it would play over the music, it doesn't need to fully stop, it didst stop on my x10, it didn't stop on my ip3g..
It is insanely annoying for the sound to just stop wait 1/2 second then play a notification, then wait 1/2 second then start again.
OK so I have tried the stock music player, TuneWiki and PowerAmp and all three seem to have the same issue. The music will simply stop playing and it acts as though I pressed the pause button. I have my Xoom in the standard HD dock and I have seen this behaviour both through the speakers of the Xoom and when I have external speakers plugged into the dock.
I have tried to determine if a notification is stopping the music, but it does not appear to be triggered by that. I tried sending myself an email to both my Gmail and Touchdown (exchange) accounts and the notification played but the music resumed as expected.
Has anyone else seen this behaviour?
I have noticed this too but for me it only happens when loading something or deleting things and it must be using alot of CPU.
not sure if this is correct, but maybe it's not the CPU - maybe it's the internal memory. I mean, let's say you're playing music, and in the background you've got google services, tweetdeck, weather widget etc... updating data and then you open the market and so on
seems like a lot of things using the same memory. If memory was seperate like on the NExus One (some internal, some on sd) it wouldn't happen...
happens to me once in a while on my 3g xoom... doesnt bother me much. however sometimes the music app totally closes(force close) and sometimes the music pauses itself.
Happens to me sometimes too.
Sent from my Xoom
Mine does kind of the opposite....every once in a blue moon it will open the music app
I too have noticed this but only when another application is attempting to make a sound or notify. For example when I am playing music and an email comes through ... the music will pause while the email notification is playing.
I would check your running apps. Some poorly written apps might be grabbing the sound for some reason even though it is not needed by the app.
Mine does this on Wifi Xoom as well, only appears to happen on stock music player, winamp has worked fine. I think I has something to do with other apps running or transfering data over usb.
I think motorola/google need to release a stablity/bug fix update. Theres a few quirks that need to be ironed out.

Yea, stock music app seems to be full of bugs. For me it always resorts to having to reset the xoom because the whole thing crashes. This plus the constant force closes in browsers is really starting to annoy me. Winamp seems to fix the music issue but no other market browser solves the other issue. Sorry to get a bit off track. Google needs to get their act together. I don't think I've ever seen even a windows release this buggy.
I noticed this awhile ago, but its starting to get on my nerves now.
Whenever I am playing music, either via the google music app or Pandora, the lock screen display will not update what song is currently playing. For example, if I was listening to "Sublime - KRS One" and that song ended .. then "Third Eye Blind - Never Let you go" started playing... my lock screen would still say "Sublime - KRS One" with that album art. At first I thought my mp3 tags were messed up, but when I unlock the screen, the correct song is displayed.
Anyone else have this issue? I am sure that other types of lockscreen notifications behave the same way, but this was the most apparent to me
The music program needs to be in the foreground. I have that issue with the Bluetooth in my car, too.
Thanks.. I don't recall this being an issue in past devices. I also have issues with Tasker not updating my location until I unlock the screen, @SirBindy do you think this is the same issue? Do you happen to know a workaround/fix to this?
The only thing I've been able to do is just make sure my music app is running in the foreground. If it's in the background or in the notification shade... it works for a while, but then stops sending new meta data.
I had the issue on my Note 3 as well.
I wonder if anybody has had the issue with a G6 Edge or not. I have mine bluetoothed into a Big Blue Live speaker. Even when using the onboard speakers though, I have the same issue. Notifications seem to play very quietly. If I get a text or play media related audio, it's fine but my notifications (like mail, Facebook etc) play fairly quietly. The volume for notifications is jacked up high. Even my system UI sounds play fairly high but my notifications are very muted. I don't have anything installed that should be overiding the volumes but I do have Ringo Pro installed. Any ideas?
Hello everyone,
Every time I'm listening to music on my MI9 and I get a notification (from WhatsApp or other apps) the music volume goes down for the time of the notification and then goes up again. So if I get 10 notifications the volume of the music I'm listening to goes down and up 10 times in a row... Ugh... It's insane... I can't peacefully listen to music while I drive, for example...
Is there a way to shut off the notification's sound while playing music, or to not let the volume of the music apps going down (It also happen with Amazon music app, not only with the default player).
Thank you for your wise advices
P.s. Phone is not rooted

Hi, I think it's default "correct" behaviour (or could be a bug * working as intended *) on stock MIUI...
You could try to change the ring behavior, i.e. change to DND mode or something ?
As for me, I would recommand taking the time to flash something like Xiaomi.eu rom (can find a lot of info here on XDA), or another custom rom based on MIUI.
That fixed sooooo many of those stupid things with the stock rom, that are just working the way Xiaomi likes, but won't make sense in my opinion (see the notification icons that disapear in favour of the clock on the status bar, even if you don't dismiss them, etc.)
You don"t have to root after but really that's a must I think, it made me keep the phone, haha!
