Htc one not working on 850 band?? - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ordered a one on march 17 but now i am reading that some people in Australia can't get the phone to work on the 850 band....my network says the following ( Device must be compatible on LTE AWS (1700 MHz) or LTE 700 MHz bands, or UMTS/HSPA compatible on 850 and 1900 MHz bands. See your device user guide for information about network compatibility.) .... I wonder if i should just cancel....
This is for Bell mobility in Canada btw.
Thanks

Bump??

It's the EMEA model specifically that is causing troubles. The ASIA version is fine so it's not a problem with all of them.
It's been confirmed that 850 is not working now on multiple networks. while the australian network in question DOES work on its other bands (uses 850+2100 3G, 2100 is ok, 1800LTE is ok too) so definitely not any network blocking or whatever.
If you've ordered from Handtec/Clove/euro resellers, I would probably be very careful right now... if you've ordered locally or from US then you're probably fine.

Yeah i ordered from handtec.....should probably cancel my order i guess

I'm having that issue. I got mine from handtec at first I saw the E and was like Wtf so I started playing with apn and the network modes I'm in fort Lauderdale Florida btw so by changing modes it connects to H or 3g but I noticed that after connecting to WiFi and leaving WiFi most of the time was going to Edge again. So today I try wcdma only and it's been connect it to H or 3 g since I did it earlier. I need more time to really confirm this tho.

I'm not sure, but worth trying to change network settings from HTC service menu,

[Q] Does your One (EU model) work with HSPA 850 MHz band?

My unit bought from Clove won't work with HSPA 850 MHz band, despite the specsheet saying that it does indeed support such a frequency. I tried 3 different SIMs from 2 carriers in Thailand and couldn't get any signal. The phone doesn't have any problem with HSPA 900/2100 MHz though. I'm not sure if I have a faulty hardware, or the phone simply doesn't support HSPA 850 MHz networks.
I also tried factory resetting the phone several times, but in vain.
Is there anything that I can try to make it work? All of the RUUs available for download here have older version of radio.
Thanks!
Same problem in Australia

Thanks for your reply. At least I'm not the only one. Please share with me if you ever find a solution.
I'm not sure if the issue lies in the hardware. Would really like to try flashing different radios and see if it unlocks the band in question.
We are hoping it is firmware related as well. Will have to wait for S_Off before the radio can be flashed though

How do you know the phone u have is EU version and not from other region which not support 850MHZ?
The EU Version (which is what you will get from Clove or Expansys) doesn't support 850Mhz. There is a thread on here somewhere which details this, but I'm on mobile and can't find it right now.

[Q] Tmobile customer bought htc one play edition has a few questions

Hi all, today I ordered a new play edition HTC one. After doing some reading that I should have done before I bought It i realized it does not support the 2100mhz band used by t-mobile. I am a tmobile customer. What does this mean for me? 2g speeds? Might I hit a 1900mhz band? Is this something to do with the hardware, radio, or rom? If this is a software thing does the t-mobile rom work on a play edition device? Will this allow me to have 4g?
The Google play edition doesn't support aws so you won't get hspa unless you're in a refarmed area. So yeah it'll be 2g, or you could return it and get a T-Mobile HTC one and convert it. It's the hardware nothing in the Rom or radio will change it. If you live in a refarmed area though you should be fine.

Thanks, I think I'll stick with it either way. I was looking at tmobile's map and they don't specify 1900 or 2100

I found this http://www.airportal.de I live in the Albany NY area looks like some people are reporting 1900mhz here

[Q] No 4g/LTE

Hello. I have just bought a One with Sprint, I tried several Roms and never I Reached 4G in Spain. When I selected LTE or CDMA no data , If I put it in automatic I have 3G or H but never 4g.
Same issue. I know I can get 4G beause when I drive around, my phone has said 4G on it. With that being said, I only get 4G about .00001% of the time im using the network so it goes to 4G when i dont need it. i doubt its my phone its Sprints towers but that really sucks cuz 3G is sooooooo slow for me.
It's probably because your Spanish carrier does not use CDMA or Sprints LTE bands

In Spain for the moment is 1800 and 2600. End of this year also 800 but not yet.
Sprint is using 1900 800 and 2500. The sprint HTC only supports the 1900 lte

[Q] Best modem for HSDPA

Hi does anyone know of a flashable modem for the HTC one to improve HSDPA coverage, my phone is unlocked and mainly used overseas and my carrier supports the 1900/2100 MHz bands but so far I'm only getting edge

Either you're in the wrong forum or its because you own a CDMA phone
The Sprint HTC One is both CDMA & GSM

As far as I've ever head the GSM is limited to the edge network, which leads back to my previous point.

[Q] sprint htc one m8 no 4g in france

hi everyone i'm not sure to be in the good place but i'm from france and i baught a sprint htc one m8 harman kardon edition with bad esn and it's root s'off bootloader unlocked and sim unlocked etc and i would like to know about using 4g or lte with it in france,is it possible?it only works with 3g h or gsm mode but when i select 4g or lte i have no signal ,can someone help me?is there a solution to make it work in france?
I believe you need to make sure the French frequencies support 4g Lte...I ran into similar situation when I tried to use my Sprint version in jamaica and read that 4g was only supported on certain frequencies which the phone doesn't have...hope that points you in the right direction...
Sent from my 831C using XDA Free mobile app
thanks
Sprint one m8: FDD 800/1900 MHz , TDD 2600 MHz and french frequencies are 800/1800/2600MHz so it should work with 800 and 2600MHz right?
Technically the 800 frequency tends to be for the voice/2g signals (which you are experiencing) and then the others depend on how the provider is using them specifically...hope that makes sense...probably incompatible frequency usage on the French providers end. Anyone correct me if I'm mistaken.
Sent from my 831C using XDA Free mobile app
Just did a search and found out Sprint phones specifically use the 1850-1900mhz frequencies for 4g Lte...and France uses 800 (voice/2g) and 2600 for lte...the majority of other European providers use the 1800mhz for their 4g Lte signal...does that help? maybe need to flash French provider software? Only idea I can think of.

thanks everyone!
my provider is free mobile and they use 2600MHz only for 4g lte , when i change my sku_id for 9 the 4g logo apear but it's only 3g so i have all the time the "4g" logo but no 4g in real!how do i flash the french provider?
i just wanna say that my problem is only for 4g data.Voice ,text message ,3g all works fine.
To flash a French provider Rom you'd have to search around on here or maybe in a local French forum?...that I can't help much with myself...and the frequency for the 4g being different explains why no 4g...that's usually what happens...can only get up to 3g speeds without messing with phone too much. Maybe local phone repair shop can do a flash/conversion for you.
Sent from my 831C using XDA Free mobile app
if i flash a french provider rom i don't think the rom content that type of configuration/information about frequencies i think it's about anything else,if i erase totaly sprint settings i think it will work but i don't know how to do that, which file in the root do i need to modify.Because this is sprint who did his propoer configuration about frequencies for 4g
Does 4g Works for your HTC M8 Sprint
HI i want to know does 4g is working on your htc one m8?
