Hi all,
Trying this on an ATRIX HD 4.1.1 AT&T, got my usb debug enabled,
I pressed any key to start and the "Daemon started successfully" but it is just there,
How long does it normally take? Where should the unzipped folder be sitting in?
Using Windows7.
Thanks

Hi guys!
I used the file, run it as admin on my pc. I had my phone in debugging and the cmd screen showed me everything was fine. When I try to open SuperSU I get an error message: The are no binaries for SU and SuperSU cannot install them. This is a problem! I hit ok and it closes. If I open TB I get the message that it coudn't get the root privileges.
My phone is a Motorola Razar 201M (XT902) from Softbank (Japan), updated to 4.1.2
Any comment?
Thx!
Just reboot once and open su and then update binaries

All ready reboot and open again SU. Same result. I've used now two versions of motochopper, a 2.5Mb and a 3.6Mb. The only difference is the SU version, and I always have the same error. Any help? Any advice?

I just tried rooting my new Droid Bionic with Pete's Motorola Root Tool, works fine.
To root your Droid Bionic:
Step 1. Set your phone as "Charge Only".
Step 2. Make sure USB Debugging is checked on under Settings->Applications->Development.
Step 3. Connect your phone to your computer via USB Cable.
Step 4. For Windows, you need to install Motorola drivers.
Download drivers here:
http://androiddrivers.net/motorola-android-drivers/download-motorola-droid-bionic-windows-drivers/
Step 5. Download Pete's Motorola Root Tools here:
http://www.psouza4.com/bionic/
Step 6. Unzip Pete's tools and run the exe file for Windows and similar for Mac and Linux.
You can donate to Pete at psouza4.com and xda user djrbliss, I only used their tools and it worked.
Also see how to tether for free after you root, here.

This is a beta release of a program I tossed together to make it easier to perform some common tasks on the HTC Vivid. It will:
Walk you through the Bootloader Unlock process
Capture your Device Token for submission to HTCDev
Apply the Unlock_code.bin file to your device
Root your device
I expect a few bugs, however I have tested it on my laptop with positive results. I was able to Unlock the bootloader and lock it again. Everything is bundled so you don't need the Android SDK. The goal was to create something similar to the multi-tool, but for OS X. This is also different from the other Mac tool as it isn't using Apple Script but instead Objective-C. The user should never see a terminal window if all goes well.
Report any bugs if you want, and I'll get them fixed asap. Remember this is beta and I'm not responsible for your device, etc etc etc.

I'm adding CWM to the next version that will likely be out today. It will also have options to flash user-specified boot.img, system.img, and recovery.img files.
I got a message saying "You cant open the Application VividTools because it is not supported on this type of Mac" I am running a Macbook with MacOSX 10.6.8.
Thanks for the info, I'll take a look right away. If its an original MacBook it could be running 32-bit OS X, which may explain as the binary may have compiled for 64-bit.

Its a Macbook 1.1 that I got in 2007... So I'd say that probably the issue.
Thanks for this. I managed to unlock the BL with ease. I have not been able to root though. I see a green icon I would describe as "refresh download" and then a red exclamation "!". I end up having to pull the battery, then just boot normally. Tried it a few times; no luck.
Setup: OSX 10.7.3 / HTC Dev checkboxes enabled ( debug etc. ). Am I missing something? I usually am.
Thanks again.
I decided to test this while upgrading to ICS.
So I used it to relock my bootloader.
It said it was relocked succesfully but then said something about USB error. Probably because after relocking the phone restarts, so i think this was random.
After flashing the RUU, I tried to use this to unlock the bootloader again.
But it wasn't recognising my device. So I gave up and did everything manually whne finally I realised that the debugging mode wasn't on. Duuuurr. Turned it back on and the phone was recognised again.
However, rooting didn't work at all. It only took me to the Recovery screen. Nothing happened.
I loved the app, though. Finally someone's giving the proper attention for us Mac users. Hate having to borrow my mum's laptop in order to do the whole thing.
Keep up with the good work, you're on the right track
Failed to Root
It did not recognize my Vivid - no device detected.
Make sure you have USB Debugging switched on.
Have been testing out and seems to work well, the rooting section rebooted me to the recovery like someone else mentioned earlier.
I will keep an eye on this thread for updates.
Cheers

Go to this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2224020 Follow the instructions here to the letter and you'll have zero chance of failing the unlock process
A word of caution, most users experience failure due to improper Fastboot driver installation. It's more likely you will have to install the fastboot driver manually. So be sure to install them when your phone connected in ADB mode (or when your PC asks you to).

The above specified method is the official one by LG.
But, for some reason it did not work for me. (i am on ESA-XXX V20A)
So, follow this tutorial..
The same tutorial is explained in an easier (noob-friendly) way here.. :good:

Anyway, the best way to unlock the bootloader is via Ubuntu or similar Linux OS.
No need to install drivers. You only need the Android SDK.

Question & Answer
"Root de la Vega" What kind of name is that?
It's named after Ralph de la Vega, CEO of AT&T Mobility.
Can you help me with the drivers?
No, but you can head over here for help with drivers.
How do I get into download mode?
Method 1: adb reboot download
Method 2: Pull the battery out, unplug the usb cable, reinsert the battery. Hold Volume Down + Home + Power. Follow the instructions on the screen.
How was this root method accomplished?
By hex editing the system image to call a script on the sdcard as root.
Will rooting or downgrading or flashing stock trip the Knox flags?
No, KNOX flags will not be tripped!
Will root survive a factory reset?
Yes, it does.
Do I need have to fully wipe my phone when rooting?
Yes. If you don't you will get lots of nasty force closes. I have yet to find a way around it.
Does Xposed Framework work on a rooted Note 3?
Yes, it has been updated to work fully with the Note 3.
Will rooting report system as custom and display an unlocked lock on the initial boot screen?
Yes. It can be removed by installing Xposed Framework with Wanam Xposed and enabling Security hacks > Fake system status.
Titanium Backup is giving me problems, how can I fix it?
Check out this thread. If you are still having issues, please take your concerns to the dev, they are not related to rooting.
How do I open a 7z file?
With 7zip!
Can I do this on OS X/Linux?
No, not until heimdall is updated to support the Note 3.
Can I unroot?
Yes, use SuperSU full unroot option or flash stock.
How do I flash stock?
Check out this thread.
I am getting a "Prevention Information" popup after running a root app, how do I disable it?
From terminal emulator or adb shell as root, run; pm disable com.sec.knox.seandroid
Or freeze the Knox apps with Titanium Backup.
Downloading now. Thanks for all your hard work
Thanks for the efforts

It's because HTC allows you to unlock the bootloader without hacks, you can goto their website and do it yourself. Motorola does not have that option, which is one of the reasons I'll never buy another Motorola Device.
I think rooting the Motorola was easier. I successfully got my mb 886 done
