Yes pls share with us if you rooted it without a com and how you did it
I didn't I used my neighbors computer to root mine. I wish I knew a way to tell you but I haven't found one sorry for the bad wording in post. If I did figure it out trust I would share because there has to be many with that problem. Sorry again.

Thing is, there are a load of 'diskcacheindex' files on my sdcard/. Are these files important? What exactly are they for?

Turns out it may be related to the 3D Gallery app itself. Have a read and remember... Google is your friend...

Can anyone help me I have brought a mid tablet an it's not running very well so I was looking for a Rom that would make It a bit quicker. If you look on androidtabletbay .com it's around $74 and it's a allwinner a10. I do not know what roms I can put on it any help would be appreciated thanks

I don't think you would be able to install a custom ROM on that device. It's just because there are so many budget tablets and there are no developpers for them.

My phone developer owns this tablet. He has CM10 builds for the same on his ftp. His xda username is "Quarx"

Rule #1 of xda, search. Search on xda for whatever you're looking for, if you didn't find it, google it. And if you can't find it there, that means it doesn't exist.

Look at the link in the first page of this thread. When you click that link it takes you to a forum for your tab. The FIRST sticky tells you how to get CWM Recovery for your tablet.
I know you did that and backed up your tab before you flashed it so you should just be able to use CWM recovery to restore the backup you made before you flashed a new ROM.

First if all: Don't download something! Your pictures could be still there, but if you overwrite them, they're lost.
There are many tools to get your pictures back if they are still there. One of them is R-Studio. Google around a bit and you'll find one. But care for freeware..they are not always safe to use.
