Install cmw for locked bootloader.
Upgrade to a rooted FW of your choice in cmw and before rebooting flash the cmw .zip

to root it you would need to unlock the bootloader.. use advanced stock kernel by doomlord and then flash the supersu_fixed file... then flash the stock kernel again and relock the bootloader if you love the "Bravia Engine"

that boot.img you have to flash via flashtool it`s a kernel from CM... to have a working cwm because you have to install suspersu.zip from cwm .. But first of all you have to unlock the bootloader .. if don`t you can brick your device .. It`s a little bit complicated .. but for now it`s the only way to root 4.3

Install ONLY rom for V
Now you must install a new FTF via Flashtool.
Follow these instructions and download FTF here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2648320
Choose 9.1.A.1.140 (android 4.1.2), so you can root and install recovery again

Are you sure you did clean installation? I mean the wipe voices before flashing with Flashtool, were all selected?
There's a thread for that incident (inverted lcd) that happens when you flash incompatible kernel and tried to reboot. It has something to do with the display driver

This happens when you flash wrong kernel, the display drivers is ruined so the effect is inverted colors, there's a thread how to fix it but it's for Xperia Z1.

Hey guys quick question, i am currently living with my long suffering firmware that is jellybean...the phones needing a good clean out and update!
So i was wondering if there is a UK regional FTF for the latest kit kat?
BUT ALSO! i have seen generic ES (Spain) Regional FTFs for Kit Kat and i will be moving to Spain in September.. so should i just go a head and flash that? i don't know the difference between ES & UK (not that i have managed to find a UK version, maybe someone could point me in the right direction)
Also are these FTFs available for rooting? my phone is currently rooted with CWM and will most likely want to re-root after i have flashed with flashtools..
sorry to ask such nooby questions
Thanks

I had rooted using the old school method because towelroot was not availabe then
Towelroot will work to root and its the easiest way at the moment.
After rooting just download and install SuperSU from play store.
After flashing firmware Bootloader wont be locked again
Kernel and Root are two different things
You will have to flash recovery again though as flashing firmware will remove the recovery
You can get the recovery from here
Dont follow root instructions from the link as you will be rooted after using towelroot
