[TUT] ICS-Keyboard As A System App - Galaxy Ace S5830i General

Hey guys,
for those who want to use their stock rom, but still want to use the ICS-Keyboard, here's a little tutorial
Things needed:
1. Root-Permissions
2. Root-Browser
3. View attachment ICS-Keyboard.apk
If you install the ICS-Keyboard as a system app, it works faster
1. Open the Root-Browser
2. Go to SD-Card and long press on the downloaded file
3. Select copy
4. Go to System -> App and then paste
5. Long press on the file
6. Select Permissions
7. Give it the following Permissions:
Owner: Read X Write X
Group: Read X
Others: Read X
8. Klick OK
9. Close The Root-Browser and reboot your phone
10. Choose at Settings the ICS-Keyboard
Hope you enjoy this Keyboard, it's the fastest in the Play-Store

How to make custom keyboards work on your device?
Short and simple guide
It's a problem with almost all custom keyboards that they Force Close when converted to system apps by placing them in /system/app
However this can be solved easily
1. With any File Manager, extract apk file of keyboard by renaming it as a zip.
2. Go to libs folder inside extracted folder.
3. Copy all libs from it(except the libs which are for ARMV7 devices)
4. Go to /system/lib and paste the copied files and set permission accordingly
5. Enjoy
6. Type your message by the newly installed custom keyboard app
7. Spare step
8. Last one

That won't copy the libraries.
I would suggest simply installing then copying the libs from /data/data/app/lib/ to /system/lib/ and apk from /data/app/ to /system/app/, set the correct permissions and reboot.

Yeah, but you already said that in the second post and I didn't want to repeat, plus this doesn't require a file manager that supports archives/APKs.

Download ics Keyboard + link2sd -> convert ics Keyboard to system-app?!

One Major Audio Effects Stutter/Noise Issue Solved on CM7/Void Forever/ Andy's Rom

I used to be frustrated whenever I saw stuttering and noise on high audio effects in CM7 by Mik.
Problem resolved today, completely.
I am loving it. Never knew or imagined I myself will find this solution. (Never thought it would be so easy.)
Enjoy your CM 7 even more and to the fullest. Its one of my happiest days in life.
Solution 1 ( Enjoy DSP Manager & Equalizer app even more.)
Download the attached zip and extract contents.
Go to extracted contents via root explorer.
Rename libbundlewrapper.so as libcyanogen-dsp.so
Copy new libcyanogen-dsp.so
Go to system/lib/soundfx folder change r/w permissions.
Delete old libcyanogen-dsp.so and paste new libcyanogen-dsp.so (70 KB)
Change file permissions as follows:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Change r/w permission.
Reboot.
Enjoy DSP Manager even more.
You can use equalizer app from market also with this mod.
Solution 2. (Using only Equalizer app from market)
After installing rom :
1. Delete cyanogen-dsp.so file from system/lib/soundfx folder
2. Paste libbundlewrapper.so and change permissions.
Now, soundfx folder should look like this:
Freeze the dsp app via titanium.
Reboot.
Use and enjoy equalizer app now.
Solution 3. (Keeping both Equalizer app and DSP Manager)
Just delete libcyanogen-dsp.so. Paste libbundlewrapper.so.
Then rename libbundlewrapper.so as libcyanogen-dsp.so. Paste libbundlewrapper.so again. It should look like this now.
Reboot.
This way both equalizer app from market and dsp manager both will work.

Guys just replace the three lib so files in the system/lib/soundfx with official gb ones. And uninstall dsp manager via titanium backup. And reboot. Install equalizer app from market.

I don't understand it at all, always worked but not now -_-. Ask sb else to make update.zip sry
I am using mik 6.5.4,Franco 18.1 kernal.
Still stuttering, if enabled any of the options in the power menu in the equalizer except equalizer.
Why is the Equalizer app required?
I have applied this method on 6.6. Not 100% sure about 6.4 and 6.5. But I think it should work on any cm rom or Andy's rom and void forever as well.
Need feed back from more users.
If it doesn't work on 6.4 and 6.5, it may be due to official kernel and user space drivers integrated in 6.6.
But I earnestly hope it works on all cm versions. Lets have more feedbacks. As for me on 6.6, the stuttering / noise has gone for ever.
May be tomorrow I will try this on 6.5.

I think that bass on DSPManager was better.
Or maybe some settings that i don't made right.

I think you need to replace Vending.apk. First you try to install like a normal application, if it doesn't then replace your Vending.apk (it might install as an update).
I just installed the apk from Dropbox and it worked perfectly.
You shouldn't need to replace in /system/app manually

Patches and fixes
First download my rom and download the fix given below. Open the file you just downloaded and you will get settings.apk in it, copy it on desktop and close the package. Now open the package of xperia-duos and go to /system/app and drag the settings.apk from the desktop in the archive, it may ask you to overwrite something then say yes. Now you have a rom ready to be flashed.

yo hell_lock. Is there any way to install my old music player from technoduos? I kinda hate the new player. It is so complicated :S I got the apk from the technoduos package. Can I just put it on memory card and just install it? I tried to do it, but I failed. Any suggestion on how can I put the old player without reflashing the rom?

So I have put the apk file in the system folder in root explorer. But the app didn't show up. Hmm... I can. I tried to install it, but it will always show a message that's "application not installed*
Here's the link sir.. "http://www.4shared.com/android/Wy5S7YGx/Music.html"
Thanks!

The /system folder is at the root of your devices internal storage. I've never used a PC to do this, only root explorer that has been granted su privileges. Go to /system/data and press the mount r/w button at the top right. Then long press the boot ani file to get this popup:
Then select permissions and make them match these:
You must be rooted to do this.

Move it to system/media and set permissions to rw- r-- r--
I used root explorer with no issues. It will have to be named bootanimation.zip. you can either rename your existing boot ani file, move it, or delete it.

Doesn't seem to want to work. I extracted the RAR to make the bootanimation.zip file, put it into /system/media, change the permissions, reboot, and get a black screen where there should be a boot animation. Does the same thing when I try to install it via AOKP's boot animation installer too.
