OMG!! Wait let me not be rude... Dude you said you want to unroot your phone and go back to stock... No you won't have custom recovery.. If you want to flash back stock all you have to do is read a little and use the search button, it works wonders. There is an active thread right now telling how to go back to stock but if you want an easy way, open up superuser or supersu whichever one you use, go to settings ascroll down and click unroot phone..

Or use Mattlgroff's Universal Unroot Easy Peasy.

I have and I don't see anything about return to stock. I see an unroot option, or the firmwares. Is that it?

First page of the development section, about 15 threads down (stock rooted Gingerbread):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1348637
Flash that, then unroot. Or you can use LGPNST to flash the V7 Gingerbread .tot file. Either way will get you back to stock Gingerbread.
I just used this method and didn't have any issues at all getting back to stock, and I was then able to install the ZV8 update as well.
This may be a dumb question, but if I use the one click root/unroot to unroot my phone for this update, do I need to worry about clearing the caches and removing the rom and theme first or can I just run the unroot.bat file and be good to go?
Anyone have an answer please?

You first need to flash the stock rom, then you can click unroot.
You don't have to clear your cache and previous data but it's recommended.

Have you guys tried Atrix 2 JB leak root method? They flash ics boot.img via fastboot first then root it with ics root tool. After that, flash it back with jb boot.img.

If we could flash bootloaders that might work, but I don't think we can with a locked bootloader.

Sorry, but not me. I am already rooted and cannot afford to brick my phone.
It just my idea,guys.. Do it carefully as you can brick your phone. If we have a full flash JB,I can try it for you. FYI,Atrix 2 is also locked bootloader.
Please someone try this!
we do!
i have the jb fx file bro, go ahead and try it for us please

Nope..It's not working I guess. Someone has reported it. I need a full working stock JB full flash files. It will be safe to restore anything by RSD if this method can't boot my AHD.
thats what i have.

Do u have original link ?
you can flash in a custom recovery if you are TOTALLY STOCK.
it's ok if you are rooted (though you'll probably lose root).
This will FAIL if you are on a deodexed stock rom.
If you are rooted and want to maintain root, then just flash a supersu flashable zip (google that for a link). after flashing the ota

It came from users who got the notification. Since there is only one variant of the N4, it is easy to tell it is the correct update.
Soooo if I flashed this and i lose root. Can I use wugfresh's toolkit to reroot?
Any way to flash and not lose root? Or is it easy to get root back with the toolkit?

I just asked that same question bud.
Update keeps failing for me. I was on Franco kernel, went back to stock kernel and wiped cache and Dalvik. Not sure what is going on.
Where can I find a stock 4.2.1 rom? I'm CM10.1 right now.
and when is the original OTA version coming? im using stock unrooted rom and i dont want to root

Huh? The OTA is here now. You don't need to root or unlock the bootloader to install it. Either wait for your phone to get the notification or install the SDK and use adb sideload.
can someone do me a favor and upload a copy of the file in system/lib named
libwebrtc_audio_preprocessing.so

OTA Rootkeeper successfully brought back root access after I flashed the 4.2.2 update. As long as you have your root backed up prior to updating, you don't need to reflash supersu.
A question, I'm rooted running stock & am very familiar with flashing Roms but never an update like this / do I wipe anything when I flash or not?

no, you can use it with both locked and unlocked bootloader, unlocked bootloaders cannot have more than one partition as of now for our device, but safestap can have upto 3 partitions, that means you can have 3 roms at the same time with boot selection option,, i have tried having cm,pac and aokp at the same time a month ago and i worked well..

Basically sure it may somewhat work. But basically it's not made for unlocked bootloader roms. That's why we keep having all these newbs bricking they're phones.

but, if you have your bootloader unlocked there is no possiblity for soft brick and these kind of things cannot cause hardbrick... if you mess up with something you can fastboot it to stock easily and install cwm or twrp.. it is soo simple, noobs get bricked because they have a locked bootloader yet, they try these things.. before you start with something related to modification, it is highly recomended to unlock your bootloaderand it is safe after unlocking..
Safestrap is just a workaround to let us play with our phones. A poor workaround at that. Noone here recommends running safestrap on top of an unlocked boot loader as well.
If people want "slots" make a cwm backup of your ROM. Flash a new ROM. Back a backup. Switching between the two is simple.

SS will work, but it has safeties in place that make some of its functions do what we don't need them to do now that we're unlocked. Format commands are really wipes, can't flash boot or recovery with it (by default), etc. If SS was recoded to be installed to the recovery partition and the safeties removed then it would be TWRP with MultiRom, but the safeties in place makes it a bit of a nuisance with custom roms, kernels, and unlocked devices.
I agree but because it's sticked in the development section all the noobs use it and end up breaking something.
