XXJVU Best for the time...
Not sure if it's an officially released ROM but JW1 seems to be currently the most stable ROM for SGS.

...Define 'best'?
i'd say JVT or JVU for general usage.
For something more exciting various ICS builds can be very good (although they are still RC's)
Flake x
Just a quick question. I want to give stock Rom + Custom Kernel a try. Is it possible to install any kernel via Odin or only specific one like CF-Root? (e.g. i wanna install Semaphore Kernel).
Thanks.
Oh and does the loading bug after 100% battery and on cable still exist? (Hope u know what i mean)
Upload the stock rom, root and then flash via sgs flash kernel (app from market) semaphore kernel.
Hey all!
I've jsut want to ask you, that how depends on the compatibility of a rom on a kernel? so what need to modify in a rom for being compatible with the specific kernel(nAa for exemple).
I've got no idea But if your point is to create a rom, I think you should start by working with the stock kernel for now

i've just want to make compatibile a rom with nAa11
From my experience the correct Kernel to use is always suggested by the developers of the ROM. For example the Minicm7-2.1.9 is built around the nAa Kernel and as far as I'm aware the ROM will only work with that Kernel.
CM7 suggests a FreeXperia Kernel which comes with the ROM (e.g. FX043) - I've not had any luck with this kernel and ROM myself. I did get the CM7 ROM installed with the nAa kernel but it kept freezing up.
Always try the suggested kernel or search for compatable kernel for the ROM you want to use. Of course you can always try to load any rom to any kernel and experiment / hope for the best as I have....
Hope this helped.
im sad because for stock kernel was not updating please update ..

?????? a senior member posting in the wrong section wow question is why??? and for what rom are you talking about
if you read the nAa gb kernel features you'd see that it was actually based on stock kernel with many things ported over from other kernel versions. but if you're thinking like updating the stock kernel for STOCK rom (which very few people use now), you should try it yourself because everybody is really busy nowadays.
when someone update stock thing tht called Custom... we have best updated stock (modified, custom) kernel...

1. Yes, you can use it as long as you want
2. Which rom are you using?
3. You need to run android 2.3.x at least, because you need CWM 5.x.x.x to flash the latest custom roms
Here a useful thread where you'll find llots of info (How to root, install CWM 5.0.2.6 Fixed, flash a stock rom via Odin...and lots of tips )

can you please kindly tell me which rom has a bugless? coz i have tried reading some of the custom roms even outside the forum ., some roms has a bug like camera ,wifi etc. all i need is a custom rom which is based on a stock rom but have changes or tweaks like removed the useless apps. im running on GB 2.3.4 and i want it to upgrade it to higher version but a stock rom with a tweak, because nothing beats a stock rom i guess ^^
