Hi!
I just want to know what files should be remove and what files should be needed for porting custom kernel rom to stock kernel in cm7 (because I know there's nothing for me in cm9)
Can someone tell me? The Dev of CrystalCm7 tells me just copy the app and framework to some supporting stock kernel rom but I tried it and stuck at bootanimation. If the rom is bricked, it doesn't even boot up. Right?
I need to know it!

I want to flash a MIUI rom on my o2x butI now have Horsepower kernel on my phone and it isnt compatible so i want to go back to stock gingerbread kernel. is the kernel included in the .zip or do i have to download it somewhere and if so where can i find the stock kernel?
Pls dont say look in the dev thread, but could you be a little more specific.
Thank you
ROM are always complete that means that there is a kernel.. How would you boot without?
Hey all!
I've jsut want to ask you, that how depends on the compatibility of a rom on a kernel? so what need to modify in a rom for being compatible with the specific kernel(nAa for exemple).
I've got no idea But if your point is to create a rom, I think you should start by working with the stock kernel for now

i've just want to make compatibile a rom with nAa11
From my experience the correct Kernel to use is always suggested by the developers of the ROM. For example the Minicm7-2.1.9 is built around the nAa Kernel and as far as I'm aware the ROM will only work with that Kernel.
CM7 suggests a FreeXperia Kernel which comes with the ROM (e.g. FX043) - I've not had any luck with this kernel and ROM myself. I did get the CM7 ROM installed with the nAa kernel but it kept freezing up.
Always try the suggested kernel or search for compatable kernel for the ROM you want to use. Of course you can always try to load any rom to any kernel and experiment / hope for the best as I have....
Hope this helped.
Hi guys, i have looked but cant find.
what i want do try and achieve is to pull the rom from my ace with all installed apps/settings that i have installed.
basicly i have AOSP Beta 1 over XWKS2 stock,
launcherpro
cyanogenmod setings
cm7.x gps patch
i have a backup made via cwm5 but this is just a retore folder.
i would like to create a fully flashable rom of my current rom/settings/patches.that can be used via Odin.
the purpose of this is so i can have my rom backed up and flashable, just like a stock rom, and so i can try other roms without having to flash back to stock then flash AOSP and then flash patches and cyanogenmod setting, wich is a bit of a nightmare "trying new roms on daily basis and having to flash back due to bugs or poor performance"
if someone can help me create a flashable backup in a noob friendly way i would be very greatfull.
i love my ace as it is at the moment, its perfect for me. it would just be nice if i could flash back to my custom rom in 1 flash rather than many + having to add all patches after,
this would be amazing if anyone can help.
Yes I'm still interesting to do that also from my S5830i
Odin is only for stock roms. You cant flash custom roms using Odin.

Hi guys, i have decide to continue @buzz work on sense rom, I probabily fix the following things:
- Camera
- wifi
- keyboard
- change kernel with latest Squadzone
I do not know if they are ok, I have yet to test them, which will be done tonight, I just have to understand, I can use the kernel from cyanmobile (I do not speak of permits) on this rom? Or should I modify it?
if that rom is based on cm then I think you can use the kernel from cyanmobile
sorry if you had asked for something else
i think u should edit ramdisk
Rom doesn't boot, i restart work from zero by myself

Hi,
Someone knows if is possible to change the kernel in a stock rom? I'm looking for one that allow "mounts", "install's/updates" via CWM and support for init.d
BR
if i'm not wrong, i've only seen cm based ones in this section..If you want you can build one on your own and mod it as you like..There are lots of tutorial available to do it..if you don't want or you don't have time to do that, i suggest you to flash a stock based custom rom..Have a nice day!
