[Q] Missing Baseband - Xperia Z- FreeXperia Project - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

After flashing to cm-10.1-20130407-UNOFFICIAL-yuga from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2156919&page=34 CM10.1 - Android 4.2.2 the phone does not get a phone signal. In system it shows as baseband version unknown.
I have followed some tips in the above forum for turning on wifi and areoplane mode but to no avail. Any idea how to install a missing baseband?
Thanks.

I don't think it's a missing Baseband, maybe something with ril files, the devs will find a way to fix it.
If you have stock ftf file you can try to flash the baseband separately with flashtool.

Hi gm007, thanks for the reply.
Having used Samsung for years was not sure the best way forward to Sony.
I have downloaded a C6603_Generic_Uk_No_Branding.ftf and will look into how the flashtool option works.

I tried CM and i had the same issue, baseband unknown cause my phone is c6602,so i flashed c6603 baseband and it's fixed.
So if you have c6602 do the same.

Hi robdevil & gm007,
I did not manage to get it sorted last night, unfortunately I was running low on time.
I tried loading a .ftf in flashtool but got a bit lost, could not seem to load it.
I have currently re-loaded a recovery image I took earlier in the day and will look at trying to load CM10.1 in a few weeks, give some time for the RIL issue to be resolved.
The version of phone is model C6603.
Baseband shows currently as 9x15A-ACEFWMAZQzz-30110017-06.
I think I will also try and find a guide on how to use flashtool, which I am sure will be handy to know before I look at re-flashing CM10.1 in a few weeks. The flashtool I used was this one: http://androxyde.github.io/ Flashtool Version 0.9.10.2beta4 built on 2013-03-21 19:00:00
Thanks.
Update: Seems that the no network issue is currently resolved for some and not others in the latest build by codeworkx http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2156919&page=39

I send my phone for repair. Problem is I don't know what is happen as someone bought it from me and after 2 weeks said it has sim issue and send it back. Will see what Sony says.

I have the same problem with Xperia Z, european unlocked model.
With original Sony rom it works fine, with any CM10 there's "unknown" baseband.
Tested both FXP and the CM10.1 "nightly" - no gsm network support in both roms.

Interesting to hear racht that the issue still exists and seems to be related to FXP & CM10/10.1 roms. Hopefully a fix will be implemented by the devs of the roms in due course.

I had the same problem, however rebooting several times and turning flight mode on and off solved it.

I had this too. There are methods to fix it, but I just installed the first version by codeworkx, the 0407 build didn't work for me with the baseband. Install the first one by codeworkx, then see if baseband works. If it does, then update and cell will still work. At least for me.

So what you're trying to say is that if I have a C6602 model and I've installed CM10.1 and if I'm having an unknown baseband issue then I should flash baseband from C6603 model firmware?

Yes. Download a ftf file and load it in flashtool then just exclude everything but the baseband and flash it. I had this problem when I installed AOKP it takes a couple of minutes to get signal after the phone boots

Which version should I download? Is there any ftf which has only baseband? It is very difficult to download a 700MB file just for flashing baseband.

Sent from my Sony Tablet S using XDA
Btw, the 2.1.1.A.0.53 isn't your baseband, it is your rom, and in this case it is one of the last official stock roms for the X8/W8.
Your baseband is the odd alphanumeric string that begins with M and ends in either 015 or 006. Most ROMs and kernels require baseband 015.
Also, I remember some users having this problem before. Use the search tool and see if you can find the posts.

[FTF] Xperia V (LT25i) 9.0.D.0.484-INTL-GENERIC

This is the Xperia V (LT25i) INTERNATION LTE Stock Firmware in FTF format.
This does not need a unlocked bootloader or any work on our part. Anyone can flash it.
All you need to do is, use the flashtool by Androxyde & Bin4ry ,
push the big lightning button (that stands for flash) and locate the FTF file on PC
and then connect the phone to PC in flashmode.
A stock FTF file is essential to "make your phone just the way it was when it was released" and also to repair from a soft-brick.
This FTF does not contain bootloader S1boot.bin so it will NOT relock your bootloader if you already have unlocked bootloader

Moved from Development as is just another stock file and not development. All other stock files for T, TL and TX are here so no reason for the V to be any different.
Thanks

Probably Yes, but why do you want to flash a firmware with less functions than AX?
(V is called AX in the japanese market including infrared port data exchange, mobile wallet and mobile TV).

Odd . same chipset, I think if you only keep the base band it'll work .. excluding the kernel is probably what caused the boot loop. thoughts ?

Hi and thanks for the FTF but could you fix the new 9.0.1.D.0.10 also?
Could someone make deodexed version of this ROM or version 9.0.1.D.0.10?
Which one is the newest for xperia v? 9.0.1.D.0.10 or 9.0.D.0.484 ?

[Q] about internal storage japan device[so-01f] using C960x

first : Happy new year !!
next : My English is very poor.
Now I use Z1 docomo so-01f and flash to c9603 rom ( no root, no unlocked bootloader )
because I don't like docomo service and can't turn off camera shutter sound.
A big problem is Japan model has 32GB internal storage but when flash to c960x it's show only 16GB
How can I fixed this problem ???
Thank you all for reading my poor English and answer.
You have to search for a DOCOMO ftf for so-01f, flash it then try to flash the C690x ftf excluding baseband.

Hmm. You're trying to run the "wrong" firmware on your phone, so it could be very tricky. Maybe a better way would be to flash stock DoCoMo, root, then replace your Camera app from C690x? My guess is the limitation is part of the APK, nothing else.
You are on thin ice, though, since turning off the shutter sound is illegal in Japan. http://naruhodo.jp.net/why-all-cellphones-camera-in-japan-shipped-with-shutter-sound/
Try flash file here: https://mega.co.nz/#!ak5hzQDa!L8HPmHQMMlxm9WoA687FxT4zsv1JD4g6Gqs9KKHgKiU (SO-01F 14.1.H.1.281 1278-7126 R14A)
--------------------
P/s: How to root Xperia Z1? (SO-01F Docomo)
Thank of lot.
Flash SO-01F 14.1.H.1.281's partition.
When you flash C69xx ftf on SO-01F, you have to exclude partition, not baseband.

The question why you can't install via flashtool?
LT25c and LT25i are similliar FW.. Try to install the CWM v7i JB and install the Stock .145 or .140 .. If nothing changes, try to search the Chinese flashtool, install the driver Vc and install a stock .ftf file.. From my experience i had trying install the LT25c fw and can go back to LT25i from CWM
