My bootloader is locked.
I recently flashed gregbradley's Xperia T [9.1.A.1.140] zip. This was my method:
- Start from .492 or .489 to get working CWM and root
- Flash the zip after wiping cache, dalvik cache, system, and full wipe
- Once the phone rebooted using flashtool i flashed .140 kernel and baseband.
Now when i enter root explorer and access system while giving r/w permissions my phone suddenly reboots. I am able to browse root explorer, as long as i dont give r/w permissions. I still have root, and i cannot try to re-root (i have tried this and it takes away root for some reason). I have tried flashing the .140 zip and still get the same problem. I have also tried to use root browser and uninstall and reinstall root explorer, but to no avail.
Anyone help?
try flashing the attachment.
You may need to go through the process again and flash this after flashing my rom but before rebooting
Works perfectly now! Thanks!

After a failed attempt to flash Galaxian Kernel (got stuck in bootloops), I flashed back to the chainfire root kernel. After having booted my phone, all of my apps seem to have lost root access. Superuser is still there and it listed all of my apps with access. I told it to forget them all but that did not remedy the situation. So I think I may have lost root access. CWM works, although I tried reinstall super user via a zip update but that was also unsuccessful. CWM was unable to extract it. Reinstall from the market also did not help.
My question is, would the best way forward be for me to flash stock kernel and then reflash Chainfire to regain access root (all via odin)? Any risk associated with this?
Thanks for any help
go to recovery mode and use the option advanced-->fix permissions.. this should help u..;D
Thanks for the tip unfortunately it did not seem to fix the problem Wondering if busy box got broken or something.
hmmm then try this:
1. use lippol94's ultimate cleaning script( i attached it for u)
2. flash cf kernel
3. fix permissions.
this should fix the problem...
Hey,
Followed your instructions and the script executed successfully. Reflashed CF but still the same problem unfortunately! Not sure what's going on! Thank you though
Have you got busybox installed??? If not try to dl from market, install and reboot.
S.U.R.F.A.C.E 2.something
Just tried that but thought the kernel already included it. When I attempted to install it it said that root access was denied and it could not get access from superuser.
Maybe try terminal emulator and type su?
Or fugu root?
I'd probably just clash the kernel again though.
S.U.R.F.A.C.E 2.something
Tried the emulator. Permission denied.
Would Fugu require me to flash back to stock?
I have reflashed cf twice now, no luck. Maybe reflashing back to stock Kernel (I don't have to do pda/modem files right?) would work.
Just flash kernel as pda.
S.U.R.F.A.C.E 2.something
Cheers for all the help. In the end, nothing worked. Repartitioning and reflashing stock ended up doing the trick.
Thanks again
Facing big problem:
- Over a stock phone: flashed SGN_XX_OXA_KJI using PC odin.
- Flashed CF root kernal + CWM using BAT file. (KJ1)
- Phone was rooted and CWM installed.
- When it says flash CF kernel by placing on SD card, it think i did a mistake and using mobile odin I flashed KJ1 kernel again (I dont know which kernel to be flashed and where to get that).
- Seemingly phone got bricked and wont boot.
Somehow I managed to access the download mode.
- Flashed stock firmware GTN-7000_CPW_Blah
- Phone came back to life
- flashed SGN_XX_OXA_KJI using PC odin again
- Flashed CF root kernal + CWM using BAT file. (KJ1)
- Phone was rooted and CWM installed.
- Straightaway rebooted to CWM, did a full wipe and installed ICS stunner 1.4.19
- Phone booted.
Now the problems:
- Can't access root. No mobile odin, no CWM.
- Can't copy files to int/ext card. Phone hangs/PC hangs.
- Am able to access the download mode though.
- Please help. In case someone from India can share his phone number with me and guide me how to come out of this.

Flashed rooted stock odex GB
Now root checkers are confirming that phone is rooted
But can't copy any file in system folder
shall i go ahead and patch the abyss kernel?
Edit:
Was able to copy files in system folder using x explorer after granting r/w rights to the system folder.
Shall I proceed ahead to patch abyss kernel.
abyss kernel patched successfully with CWM. Installed latest stunner. But cant get tablet functionality. :-(
Please help.
Never ever ever ever trust root checkers. The only way to know for sure if you really have root access is to try and paste a file into /system folder. If you can do it, you have root. If you cannot, you have no root, it's as simple as that.
This means that you never had GB root in the first place, hence you ICS root problems.

I was able to copy paste in system folder in gb after granting rw permission. Now in pics able to do the same. Anyways can someone summarize the entire steps that I should take from scratch that will bring the desired functionality. Do post the file links along. I ll really appreciate.
i recently flashed the eXistenZ Ultra 2, and im sure i did everything fine, after flashing the rom in recovery and flashing suprsu and wifi fix, i powered off the phone, and powered on but sony logo has apeared until now , and welcoming`s sounding 999..times. i cant turn it off, or i should say i cant do anything.
please help,
After flashing ROM and the fixes you should flash the 12.1.A.0.266 Firmware with FlashTool!
If problem still persists:
http://xda-university.com/as-a-user/how-to-recover-from-a-bootloop
Take a look at this site A recovery would be quite useful, but I think the kernel of eXistenZ ROM has one. If not, you'll find one in the development section. Otherwise, use the ADB as solution.
Good luck
Thanx for the post!
I used force shut down and then flash the 254 rom, and did all those things, and the problem occured again.
does the recovery software have to be the touch recovery? I use CWM v6 that enables with volume +.
and i use SuperSU fix.zip rather than superUser.zip and generally i flash rom, supersu fix.zip and wifi fix.zip. i flashed those three, before first booting, do i have to boot first before flashing wifi fix.zip?

I think you need to flash 12.1.A.0.266 instead of 12.0.A.2.254 after flashing ROM. You could also wipe data, cache and dalvik cache, reflash eXistenZ ROM and SuperSU fix (or SuperUser but SuperSU should be ok), shut down the phone with the option in recovery and then flash the 12.1.A.0.266 with FlashTool.
It doesn't matter which recovery you take. Use the one you like best. I'm not quite sure, but to go sure, please flash the wifi fiz.zip after first boot up!

thanx again,
i flashed the 266 kernel before the first boot, and the rom runs correctly,
but ive got some new problems:
1. performance, when i click on performance, it closes unexpectedly and says it has stopped.
2. i used go backup for backing up from data in 4.1, but in this rom i restored my apps, the apps installed correctly but goBackup says the data restoring successfully finished , but the data didnt restored, by the way at the time i backed up from my apps&data, i swapped memories with that linux code that this forum did.

You're welcome
1. Do you have SuperSU installed? On AOKP ROM I'm running it asked for superuser permission for ROM Control (the control center implemented in the settings of the ROM). Maybe it'll ask you if SuperSU is installed. Otherwise, because it is after the first boot it needs to rebuild cache and so on.. If problem persists after reboot, just use an other clock speed controler (No-frills CPU, SetCPU..)
2. If you did that at the same time, maybe Go Backup didn't really backup your data. Try again, if it doesn't work and if you have a nandroid backup (backup from recovery) you can go into recovery, then to advanced restore and restore data. Otherwise your data is unfortunately gone I think :/
PS: I prefer Titanium Backup
Hi,

My question is simple: will I lose root? Or any apps/data/sms/etc for that matter?
I just don't want to do all the stuff all over again. 12.1.A.0.266 is buggy but still is tolerable. >.>

Yes, you'll lose root if you update via OTA or flashing stock.
However, I think OTA does not wipe data, so you'll probably have your data. Do back them up just in case (can't remember since it's been a while since I last update via OTA ).
If you want rooted .201, install either of these roms:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2704312
(v1.1 looks and works like 201)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2658043
(v2 is a much "improved" version of the above)
I have installed the first one and loved it.
A few days ago I installed the second one and loved it even more.
Whatever you do, do a nandroid backup of your .266 (and preferably, add titanium backup of your apps and data/sms/contacts)
my mobile vibrating only after reboot!!!!!
My mobile was a rooted onewith .266 verson and i was trying to put the new rom and screwup!! ias you told i installe i downloaded the new rom v2 and super user, and dual recovery files... i ectracted from sd card all as you tol one by one ...while reboot...i saw sony logo and vibrating freequently only...not opening....!!!!!!!!!!! i tried to reset..same thing.....screwed up?!!!!!

Yup - screwed up somewhere in the process but no worries.
The process is almost the same way you got your .266 root.
To get new root and recoveries:
a. Flashtool - choose .257, then follow prompt to hook in your usb cable while pressing the Vol-down button
b. Once complete, close flashtool, unplug your device and reboot device
c. Once loaded and past the minor set up, turn on usb debugging and check "unknown sources" (all under settings)
d. Assuming you have all adb drivers installed (through flashtool installation), hook up your device to the PC and install Doomlord's exploit V18 and recoveries
Install new root 201
Boot into recoveries and flash the said .201 rom+SU+recovery (all zip files) using TWRP. Make sure you wipe cache/dalvik cache/data first. After flashing the zip files, select reboot from TWRP, and let the phone run a bit as it sets itself up (android and sony) during the booting process.
Note:
Ultimate purexsp V2.1 zip is simply an update file (not the full rom) - don't flash this one yet.
Somewhere within the thread you'll find the V2 full rom <663MB in size (as seen in my ext SD card). Flash this one and ignore the other versions

Congratz and enjoy the new fantastic rooted rom!
So I was running Ultimate PureXSP v2.1 and it was starting to get really bogged down and slow so I figured id try and reinstall the ROM over the existing install, so I went into TWRP and installed it, the install said failed but because of the touch debug messages, I couldnt see the error message.
Anyway, TWRP has always had erratic screen movements and general weirdness, it would keep going back to the homescreen when trying to flash. So I rebooted and it got stuck in a bootloop!
I used flashtool to put a stock 201 firmware on and now its runnning okay again. But I have lost root and recovery and I dont think 201 can be rooted unless I downgrade first but I will probably run into data problems, I cant use titanium backup or a nandroid to back up my data.
What should I do? I dont have any backup software that works without root and I cannot root without downgrading and losing data.
Can I unlock the bootloader from 201 and then add recovery and root? I already have a TA backup and my unlock key.
Any help would be great!
Sent from my C5303 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Yup, that's what I did.
Unlocked the bootloader. Then can flash any custom kernel. I flashed DoomLord's Adv Stock kernel, which has an inbuilt recovery. Then flash chainfire's SuperSU update through recovery to get root. Then can install any other recovery and flash stock .201 kernel back. One problem though.. YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR DATA (INCLUDING WIPING OF INTERNAL SDCARD) WHEN UNLOCKING THE BOOTLOADER. So, do you have any cwm data backup done before?
Edit: Backup&Restore app that comes with stock Rom is supposed to backup and restore data without root. But it never worked for me when restoring things. Other option is to use 'ADB backup' commands from a pc. It also didn't do restore properly for me. Can try those as last resorts.
