Is there a possibility of disabling the feature of lowering the volume of a RINGER for incoming calls using volume control button?
On a Samsung S3 mini.
It is relatively easy in a noisy/distracting environment to accidentally press volume control button. This could lower the ringer volume for all incoming calls. I have already missed a couple... Important ones.
I don't think there is such option.
I think i can make you an app which can disable volume buttons. In that case you will need to adjust the volume manually in settings

Update: Its not possible to make the service.
I was able to disable them in app but when user is outside of the app they are enabled again.
I can't make a background service since it doesn't support hardware keys because it doesn't have any UI.
I will try to experiment with a widget, but can't promise anything.

Would like to disable the volume adjustment for the side rocker and have it exclusively control
media volume.
Any way to make this happen? Root or not, either way.
Thanks.

I use a widget for that. Volume widget by futon redemption. You can set different volume widget and all.

I'm after a way of bringing up the volume slider without using the phone buttons. I'm using slimbean at the moment. I've looked all over for an app or activity shortcut through phone shell. Any ideas on how to launch this slider?

I thought I'd recently seen it stated somewhere that with 4.3 there would be a way to set different volume levels for ringtones and notifications. I've done the 4.3 upgrade from AT&T and I don't see any way to do this. Under Settings, Sound, Volumes, the ringtone & notifications are still together like they were on 4.1.2. Does anyone know if they're now able to be set separately, and if so how?
FYI, my One is non-rooted running stock 4.3.
Thanks.
See under settings, sound, volumes
Then untick use ringtone volume for notifications

Thanks Paul, but unfortunately I don't see that option on my screen.
Hello. I am looking for an app I can use to auto set the volume for Scout, (my gps app), to high when started, then revert the volume back to the way it was when the app is stopped.
Is there anything out there like that? There should be, right?
I currently use Volume Locker just to lock my ringer volume, but it appears that app doesn't have the functionality I'm looking for.

Is it possible to mute notification sounds from the lock screen? I think with past phones I would just push one of the volume keys and it would mute it... Just tried on my s5 and it didn't work... Possibly missing a setting? Thanks in advance!
