Sms popups

I've done some research and found out that HTC sense offers this. I want to have a pop-up of my text with a quick reply option on my lockscreen. Is there an apparently that can do it for the captivate? I've tries SMS pop-up and go SMS. Neither works and I hate to continuously install apps. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Handscent does this very well but it tends to work best as a replacement for the default messaging app.

SMS Popup works great. what exactly makes you think it doesnt work?

uhh, i havent tried handscent but
go sms and sms popup dont show me a preview on the lock screen :S only during the home screen

yeah. SMS Popup will show you a preview
open it
go to additional settings
screen on for popup
works for me every time

Ok, so.. I've tried all of those, they all suck. I just found this new one called GO MMS or GO SMS or something. It's awesome, customization options, awesome popup ui, quick, try it out.

[Q] BLN with (almost) stock messaging app?

Just for information:
Currently, my SGS is running Darky's Rom 10.2 Final with TalonDEV-Kernel 0.4.3. The app which is making trouble is a modified stock messaging app from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1065847.
Yeah, I'd like to have a BLN when I recieve a text message. Does anyone have an idea or maybe a workaround how to make it blink?
But please don't tell me to use a third party messaging app because their icons doesn't match with the samsung stock design.

I was struggling the same as you to make it work with the stock app, and all I read about was "use GO SMS, use Handcent, etc, etc"...
Well... there's a nice and clean solution!: Use SMS Popup; it will notify you via LED when SMSs arrive and you'll still keep the stock app (plus you'll have a nice popup to reply from there if you want)

Facebook Messenger Chat Heads

Anyone have any luck making Chat Heads work with JcSullins latest 4.1.2 rom?

Did you try going to settings -> notifications in messenger and check if chat heads is checked , if yes then uncheck and check again.
It can be buggy so uncheck and check can help

It doesn't work properly on the touchpad. I even put Facebook home on my touchpad and it still did the same thing.

I dont use Facebook so I havent tried it. But if it doesnt work, this might be the next best thing.

[Q] Using Chomp but stock Messaging notifications won't go away

Like the title says i'm using Chomp SMS as my default SMS app and it works great. However, the stock messaging app notification won't go away, even if i open the app. I'm on 4.4 rooted t-mobile if it matters.

if you open the stock messaging app and set it back as the default msg app then open settings and uncheck the notification box then check all the msg in the stock app to make sure it goes away.
then back in chomp set it as default again and everything should be OK if you are still having issues then you can try freezing the stock MSG app with titanium Backup and that should def stop it.
I have a Sprint Moto x and i froze the stock msg app and it has not caused any issues receiving msg's so it should not on yours.

[Q] Can't reply to messages from watch

Weird issue ive been running into. I can use google now to send a text to somebody, but when somebody messages me (sms), i get the notification to read it, and then the options to reply, mark as read, call, etc. however, when i try to reply inside that notification (one swipe from right to left), the green check mark just pops up instantly, and the voice prompt doesnt even load for me to dictate a response to that message. anyone else running into this? if so, did you solve it and how?
More info on phone/watch:
-watch is running latest firmware as per samsung
-watch is paired to verizon galaxy s4
-s4 is rooted running Danvdh's KTU84Q (AOSP) ROM (8/10/2014) with the Ktoonsez kernel installed (7/12/2014)
EDIT: using 8sms from the play store, works perfectly in place of the stock sms app and looks the same as well

Here's the question is 8sms wear compatible because it needs to be to have the reply option on the watch.

Yes it is. Works perfectly as a factory sms application, and allows you to reply on the watch.

I used Hangout instead because there was no way to reply and no way to acknowledge the text, which made me pickup the phone every time.
Thanks for the heads up on 8sms.
This is on a stock Sprint Galaxy S5.
