[Q] Factory .img backup - 7" Kindle Fire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've seriously bricked my Kindle Fire HD 7", and I've tried every fix I can find, to no avail. However, I can get it into fastboot mode, so I'm hoping that I could reflash factory images to all of the partitions. However, I cannot find anyone who has uploaded all of the factory images. If someone could, or at least direct me to someone who has, that would be extremely helpful (and no, I didn't make a complete backup before I screwed up my Kindle, which was stupid of me, I know).

[Q] Kindle Fire HD 7 possible brick???

Good day!
Kindle Fire HD 7 7.2.2 was succesfully rooted through Qemu
After that start the Root Explorer and frozen some programs from Amazon
After Root explorer closed - system wrote that the application is not responding and offered either wait or force close.
Waited about 5 minutes and then forcibly closed.
The tablet is rebooted and it now shows a picture Kindle Fire, which is quickly poured color.
Tell me what to do? Can I fix something back?
Thanks in advance!
I believe that at this point, all you can do is put the tablet in Odin (fastboot) mode and flash a image containing the partitions. You'll have to Google to see if anyone has uploaded genetic partitions for the HD. The problem is that no one has come up with a working boot recovery that most other Android devices have that allow you to run a restore. I've seen several postings of developers working on this.

I understand that I need a cable factory, similar to Kindle Fire. The manual, which indicates how to make such a cable was told to solder one pin and 4-pin. After that, download the program from the subject http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1951254 and take a backup to 7.2.2, as of 7.2.1 is not suitable.
I understand you correctly? And if so, where to take a backup of 7.2.2?
Thanks in advance!

I'm the living testimonial and last survivor for this bricking journey. I had my device rooted on the second day that I got my KFHD, then bricked it and kept in the kindle fire bootloop for days.
I was a bit sceptical to buy a factory cable initially as I would have to wait for weeks over this part on earth. But after reading all the sources available online and I know this factory cable is unavoidable, I ordered, waited and received my factory cable and guess what, this is just like the immediate antidote given to the sleeping beauty, after I plugged in the factory cable and carefully followed the instructions by the seniors here, I unbricked my KFHD in 10 minutes.
My two-cents advice is, if you are adventurous type and plan to go wild with your KFHD, get your factory cable before anything else, then, you can experiment all the wonderful ideas/ modding here.
Good luck and have fun!

[Q] Stuck On White/Blue Kindle Fire Logo

Hey there!
I had rooted my Kindle Fire HD 7" with success from the instructions from this thread:
androidforums.com/kindle-fire-hd-all-things-root/669366-idiots-guide-rooting-kindle-fire-hd-7-7-2-3-a.htm
Then when I went on to section 4 (installing Google Play) to the bit where it says ' Before you go any further re-boot your kindle (Power off and power back on Kindle!)' the Kindle rebooted with the normal Kindle Fire Logo then changed to a white/blue Kindle Fire logo. It will not continue onto another screen and is stuck on it. I tried holding the power button down for 1 minute but just reboots the same. I am having problems detecting the Kindle, my computer recognises it for a few seconds then it makes a noise to suggest that it has disconnected. I am using Windows 8 32 bit. No orange triangle. My computer wouldn't let me paste files onto the the device.
Does this sound it is bricked? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I am a bit of a beginner to all this.
Thanks
The white and blue logo sounds like Hashcodes second bootloader.
Look about right?..... Even though it's a crappy picture of it...

Thank you very much. If the link doesn't work type: Idiots Guide To Rooting Kindle Fire HD
Found it. Read it. Makes no mention of a second bootloader.... I'll read more in depth. You may want to purchase a factory cable. I can't guarantee that you will need it but it's better to be prepared if someone has a solution and it requires one. A $13 investment that will save your kf when all else fails. I can't give you the exact answer but I can direct you in the right direction. The solution may be simple or it may be a pain.
Lemme get you some links.
Go here and ask about the boot logo. > Hashcodes 2nd bootloader & TWRP
And here for factory cable and possible recovery software > kindle fire first aide
Good luck.

I tried to post a comment on that thread but I do not have permission to access the page. So you think if all else fails the factory cable should sort it out? In theory....
You should be able to post a reply in the thread I linked, (bootloader). The cable is always good to have incase you have bootloader issues. Give the Kindle Fire first aide software a chance. If nothing works, even the cable, call Amazon and tell them it just died. Don't mention all the rooting business. More then likely they would send you a new one. Only use XDA methods to root your kf. AND ALWAYS GO SLOW AND READ EVERYTHING TWICE.
**EDIT** You may need a post count of 10+ to post a reply in certain threads.

Thank you very much it worked. I reinstalled it back to 7.2.3 using the factory cable then it worked fine after that, still rooted and everything. The First Aide pack is a great tool and I would recommend it to anybody.

[Q] Want a hard hard reset after too many manipulation for CM 10.1

Hello everybody,
I am the proud owner of a tablet KFHD, but i try to install CM 10.1 in my kindle (with fireflash, TWRP,...). But now i would like to make a "hard hard reset" --> to put my kindle at the begining, when "she" quit the factory (OS of origin without root) !
Have you got a solution for me ?
Oups i miss to forget that: I have a fastboot.
Thank you !
So you want to restore you kfhd7 to its original state, before it was rooted?
Check here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1951254

I have already use the recovery system but it is only with a root and SU: I want my tablet is like at the beginning: no root, no modification of OS, no SU...
If I want that it's for restart the installation of CM 10.1 in my tablet with better conditions because I think I make to much bull**** at the first time (I decided that when a new problem was coming).

"The .img's in this tool were made from a rooted device w/ the su binary in place. There is no need to re-root your device, however if you choose to erase cache and user data(not necessary but may be a good idea) you will need to re-install Superuser.apk to gain root."
So this is one way to get close to what you want. With a factory cable, you can achieve exactly what you are asking. Good luck.

OK thank but I have a problem with the recovery because when I want erase cache and user data I hit number 4 (OK), I see on the .bat's screen "erase cache" (OK), after I see "cache was erase" (OK), but the problem are when it's start to erase data user because I wait half an hour last time with no evolution: I think the .bat freeze (bug ?) at this exact moment.
I ask is normal ? I must wait more time ?

Kindle Fire HD 7" Stuck on Fastboot Logo & Multiple other problems

Hi all,
I got really interested in rooting and such my Kindle Fire. However, when I used the tool on here for installing Google Play and its components, my dog accidentally pulled on the cable, disconnecting the Kindle mid-process of the tool.
Tool was this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069329
No however upon boot up, my kindle shows NO ads now. Then when I unlock it, it's extremely sluggish, shows no icons in the carousel, but still recognizes all my personal data and can still be accessed via computer.
I've tried loads of different things to fix it, but to no avail. I've gone into Fastboot mode (Though it just remains stuck at the logo) and when I try these two tools, nothing seems to help fix the problem.
Tools: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1428428
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2096888
Any suggestions guys? Any help will be great. I'd just like to get it back to the way it was.
Ugh I think I vaguely remember what causes this but not well enough to fix it, so what did you do so far, did you reflash the system partition? Because I think this might be in the /data folder in a build.prop but I am unsure, I know the main built.prop you usually see is in the /system folder. This I think has something to do with a qemu property but like I said I hope I am pointing you in decent direction. I will see if I can pull up a similar post and give you a link to a fix.

Thanks for the advice, but sadly I'm unfamiliar with loads of the inner workings, since I was using the automatic coders to get the roms in and etc.
All I really did was start the Tool, hit the number on CMD for applying the Google Play stuff (NOTE: I manually rooted the kindle before hand) then the dog thing happened. Now it's as I've said. I don't own the Fastboot cable either, but I DO get to go to Fastboot Mode (Logo Only) through the tool.
Be careful, I don't know if that tool is from this section of the forum, and some tools from the kf1 section can hard brick your kindle, still looking for the thread BTW.
Edit: I can't seem to find the thread... I don't like recomending doing this since it will wipe all your apps and their data, but do a factory reset from the kindles settings if you can get to it, I think it will fix the problem, not positive.
Sent from my Amazon Kindle Fire HD running CM10.1 Tablet UI using xda-developers app
I've been looking into it, I may have used stuff for Gen 1 Kindle's, so yeah, that could have been the problem.
Gonna do the factory reset, only thing I haven't tried. Transferring photos. Lady friend may stab me for losing those.
Thanks again for the advice. I'll get back to you with any change.
Ah thanks to soupemagnet he reminded me of what I am thinking of, you need to delete /data/local.prop
Hope you get this before you lose any data.
Sent from my Amazon Kindle Fire HD running CM10.1 Tablet UI using xda-developers app
Thanks for all the tips, go it to work. Sadly I already did the factory reset, and now it's all back to normal.
Any guides out there to get the Kindle to A Full on tablet? I'd be trusting only the ones you send now. Don't want to use a guide for KF1s.
If you mean flashing a ROM of an actual android os, here's the guide for it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2271909
Just make sure that in fire flash you check the box with the red warning text or your kindle will have a red screen of death that only a fastboot cable will fix, also remember to put a copy of the ROM you want to flash and gapps for that ROM on the kindles sdcard before flashing or you might get stuck in a recovery loop depending on your kindle os version. That tutorial also has some ROMs on it you can use, there might be others in the development section its from you can use as well depending on whenever the last time seokhun updated that tut. That tutorial may be lengthy, but make sure you read all of it, that way you make sure you follow exactly what it says to do and reduce your chances of bricking. Its always better to be safe when messing with a locked devices boot loader than sorry.

[Q] Kindle Fire HD 7 (KFTT) TATE...frustrating situation

Hello, long time reader...first time poster.
I am making this thread in hopes that someone out there will be able to help me find a solution that I have been so far unable to find. I have spent many hours searching to attempt to find a resolution to my problem, but have been unsuccessful thus far.
My problem is this: My KFTT is/was rooted but still using stock ROM. I had all of PERSANO's tweaks active..and various apps installed. Lately(the past couple weeks) I have been experiencing issues with freezing (hard freeze, unable to do anything except hold power button down until it powers off), while attempting to fix the freezing issue, I managed to corrupt my systemUI.apk (exactly how this happened is at this point unclear). The result of this is that the kindle will boot to the lock screen as usual, but after unlocking goes to black screen.
I have seen many threads on XDA and elsewhere devoted to the systemUI.apk issue..but I believe that my situation is unique and have been unable to find a solution in any of the other threads. As a last resort after being unable to make any headway, I decided to system restore after being told by someone that this would solve my issue.
The result of the system restore is that although the systemUI.apk issue is still present and unchanged, now it seems that my ADB debugging is disabled, along with anything else that might be of any help in controlling the kindle without being able to see anything/use any functions of the kindle..
My question is this: Short of buying a fastboot cable, is there ANYTHING that I can do to fix my kindle? Would REALLY appreciate any responses. Thanks in advance.

No, not at this point. You have no ADB which leaves only a factory restore via fastboot. Make sure you know which Kindle version you have as the images you flash must be for the model Kindle. Flashing the wrong images will most likely hard brick your tablet.

Not sure about Blaze. Tate is the code name. So only use Tate images.
