A tip for the Volume! - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When updated the fw .350 to .434 I noticed a drop in the volume of a call.
Unintentionally I discovered the following:
Answer the call with the volume at maximum, pay attention at the time was that, lower the volume to a minimum and then increase to maximum. The volume was much higher than the previous maximum!
We need to tell Sony about this problem to fix in the next update!

There are many topics about it here just look or search for them and I think/hope Sony is already on it. If u go in service menu and test sound the volumes are much higher than when phoning.

Try this
Go to settings > call settings > set equalizer to bright , disable voice enhancement.
and then hear the in call volume, u will be surprised
PS. After disabling the mic noise suppression, mic quality increases.

It's a little late to ask this but, could you solve your low call volume problem?
I have the same low volume trouble with my Xperia Go while making phone calls. The phone is good and still operable after years but i always had call problems. The in-call volume is too low, i can't hear the person clearly especially in noisy places. We used Sony Ericsson K750, w800 phones in the past and they also had low volume in calls. And i see that there are still some Sony users which complain about this same problem like us.
If you solved this issue, could you please let me know?
Thanks in advance. :good:
I don't know what XZ you guys have, but mine is too loud and I didn't do anything to it related to sound. In fact I'm quite annoyed that the phone is too loud when I have a conversation, thus everyone around me being able to hear. I always have to lower the volume to the minimum and it's still too damn loud.
Is there anything that can lower the volume, not make it go up??
I've even disabled the MusicFX and Audio Settings but it's still too loud..

Really?
I almost thougt that it was a Sony characteristic, to limit the volume to some certain level which is low, when compared to other brands (maybe for avoiding to damage the ears?). When i search the web with "sony xperia low call volume" parameters, i see there are lots of complaints about different phones from Sony (NOT just XperiaZ).
Do we have faulty phones, or do you have really sensitive ears? Can you please compare the sound level with different brand phones also?

mine is XZ C6603 and in-call volume is average. not too low or too loud (using bright equalizer on call setting)
have you try to re flash stock firmware? if yes, maybe you have faulty phone

[Q] Stepless Volume ?

on the iPhone, im able to increase or decrease the volume in 1% intervals, on HTC One i can only do it in 10-15% intervals
sometimes the lowest 15% is too loud and 0% is too little  --- i wish i could manage the volume in 1% intervals too ...
is there a solution for this ?
Thanks !
There is an app called "fine volume control" or something like this. Search the play Store for it.
You can also do it when you modify the framework.res. I did it but there wasn't really a change. I think there is some thing new in Sense 5 because on my old HTC One X it worked.

u can find lots of app that control ur volume, brightness and etc
for example u can find an app that set ur brightness to 0%
and about volume also thr s apps just search in play store and install that one for top developer or editor choice
or at least acceptable ranking
:good:
This would be one of my biggest complaints with android. On my s2 I use a custom kernel which helps. I find volume 1 to always be too loud on any headphones. Poweramp has a lower volume which helps. Fine volume control works, but is a little sensitive and jumps around.. Sometimes my notification volume just shoots up super loud etc. But it does work. Modifying the framework seems to be the only sure option. I'm looking at getting a one, but the volume issue worries me. I listen to metal, so its not something likely to be on a display model to check out...

Thanks guys..
It seems that every problem with Android is solved by downloading a program that patches the problem - Volume control being one of them .
i'll look around in app store to find a better volume control than Sense5
Thanks

[Q] Speaker is incredibly quiet, any fix?

I noticed the very low speaker volume since the first day I got it, the speaker volume is so low that I can only hear it on the maximum volume. This cannot be right. The latest upgrade (2A1.136) made the volume even lower.
Is there a software fix ?

read the forums, there is a fix in the development sections. flashable zip.
I've encountered this error too. I'm using musixmatch, in musixmatch the volume is so low. After try with Walkman app, the volume is getting louder. Back to musixmatch, the volume is fix now. I think there is a relation between Walkman and Sound. IDK. Just try, perhaps it's woks for you.

Coming from the HTC One i noticed that the audio wasn't great, but a few mods in and it's acceptable, still nowhere near as good as the HTC but definitely better.

In Call Volume very low?

Just got the Z3 Compact from eBay. Brand new D5803 on AT &T. Notice very, very low call volume. Anyone else notice? Any Apps that can help increase volume? I searched but don't see any other posts about this.
Thanks all.
I've found the in call volume outstanding. But speakerphone vol is poor. UK spec. Anyway to boost speakerphone vol?
Thanks techguyone! I realized I had a bad screen protector blocking a portion of the speaker...I will test the external speaker and see if I can find any info or apps that help increase external speaker volume. Thanks again for your reply

Were you able to solve the incall volume issue. I have the same phone and the incall volume is so low, it is absurd. I talked to support and they gave me instructions to reinstall the operating syustem. It was a wast of time as the incall volume is still the same.

[Q] Call volume on the lowest level just TOO LOUD!

Hello.
Over a week ago I switched from my dear old Xperia Neo to Xperia Z1 and so far no real complaints except:
The in-call volume even on the lowest level is too loud. Much too loud. It's impossible to hold it so that it touches my ear when listening to the other caller. It was never the problem with Neo. Some people joke that modern smartphones are so loaded with features that the quality of the fundamental functions may become secondary. Well, it isn't very far from that.
I've searched for a solution all over the place, but all you find is ''Volume Boosters'' and how to increase volume steps. That doesn't do a thing with volume.
Does anybody know how to lower the minimum call volume (or minimum System volume or whatever that helps to solve my issue)?
The phone is rooted, with stock firmware.
Thanks.
