Hi can any one help me I have LTE enabled and working but location services do not work does any one know how to get it working? When on hspa before enabling LTE after a reboot it will work with data but once I switch LTE on it no longer works!
Thanks in advance.

im not 100% sure but i believe you need to have "supl" entered in as the apn type, along with whatever else is there ie: default, supl, mms. note there are no spaces between any of the commas.

I've just recently acquired an I9305 in the UK. I'm on giffgaff.
It appears there are only 2 allowable modes for the mobile radio, 2G/3G/4G Auto mode, or 3G Only.
Has anyone figured out how to put it into 2G only mode?
Paul
The Australian version has options for 2g only, 3g only or auto. Only option it doesn't have is 4g only. Not sure why the UK version doesn't have the same options.

NatTheCat,
Which network are you on and are you running the stock ROM? I'm on giffgaff (O2), and there is no option for "use only 2gnetworks". I'm also using the stock ROM.

the last ppl to reply dont seem to give the proper info, Yes you can put it in 2G mode only and the way to do it is put it in GSM Only Mode....
GSM = 2G
WCDMA = 3G
LTE = 4G
Settings>More settings>Mobile Networks>Network Mode> GSM ONLY

Pretty sure the OP says he only has 2 options - all or 3G only.
Yeh I just read that lool whoops... i read the last reply and commented in regards to that info and just made sure the correct words were used in the settings options because OP said there is no option for 2G mode and infact he is right it says GSM mode instead of 2G..... 3G 4G 2G are not used for the abbreviations...
To the OP this is Very strange to have those options only , it has to be your Carrier which modified the rom for their network, but why wouldnt they want you on the 2G mode? are you sure they have those bands open maybe they are going to shut down the 2G bands down soon and are prepared lol Who knows ... I am confused on this one sorry bro
Possible option is to flash an Aus rom or some other European one.

Yea it's weird. It was from Orange originally, I then unlocked it and have moved to giffgaff.
Anyone else out there with Orange/EE can confirm only 3G, and 2G/3G/4G Auto network options?
I can confirm that those are the only options on an Orange lte in the UK.

Well that stinks. One good reason to flash a different ROM.
Thanks.
Hi,
How to disable LTE ? I mean I want edge and WCDMA enabled, but simply disable the LTE chip/module ?
So I'm in LA inside where I'm at i get three bars of LTE and full bars of 3G since the 3G is stronger it keeps me in 3G for the most part unless i do a profile update then it puts me at 4G for 5 minutes before kicking me back down. So the question is, is there a way to force LTE?

The bars do not represent EVDO (3G) or LTE (4G), they represent 1X Voice on the HTC One. If you want to know the actual signal strength of your 3G and 4G go to settings/About Phone/Network.
My guess is that the LTE is borderline in the building and therefore it goes back and forth. Where I work I have strong LTE and EVDO but when I'm in the building it will switch to 3G once I start using data like Youtube or something. Once I stop and set the phone down it will reconnect to LTE. If I go towards the outer part of the building I will get a better LTE connection, or if I go outside it is really good. This is due to the poor penetration of the 1900mhz LTE.
The phone will connect to the higher priority signal, first 4G and then 3G.
As said above, it seems like your LTE connection is very weak, or else the phone would stick to that.
Ok so i did *#*#4636#*#* and changed it from CDMA + LTE to LTE, CDMA and it hasn't dropped from 4G

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't that disable your ability to receive phone calls/texts?

If you set it to "LTE only" then yes but if you set it to "LTE,CDMA" it will only connect to LTE and 1XRTT and bypasses EVDO. So you phone should stay on 4G a lot more since EVDO is disabled but if LTE drops you will drop to 1X

Correct. Hence CDMA/LTE vs CDMA/EvDO/LTE. You can also do LTE only if you're feeling bold.
Is there a way to force HSPA / disable LTE? *#*#4636#*#* doesn't work.
Being in an area that constantly switches between HSPA and LTE is a battery killer and I'd rather be able to simply force HSPA.

There are various apps that allow you to access the same menu as *#*#4636#*#*. The one that i've used is called LTE On/Off for Thunderbolt. It takes you to that menu, and works fine on phones other than the thunderbolt. Select WCDMA Preferred from the list and it goes to HSPA+.

Is that an AT&T Moto X? I don't have that option on mine, also the LTE signal indicator looks different.
Some stated earlier to use the app LTE on/off. I've been using it and it works great

tried this after updating to kitkat, and it will not allow me to change to cdma prl auto.
Anyone else able to turn off LTE on a AT&T Moto X running kitkat?

If you have an AT&T Moto X then you don't have CDMA so you shouldn't be able to select that option. Try selecting the WCDMA only or WCDMA preferred option.

I chose the WCDMA preferred option. There wasn't an option to confirm or anything at that point, so I just backedout. Is that it?
Thanks for your help!

I am on the latest update and found a way to disable bands for the M8. So far I have seen no improvement but hopefully it can help someone else.
1. Go to dialer and enter ##3282#
2. Enter your MSL password
3. Go to Advanced then LTE and choose enable
4. On the main EPST menu choose LTE
5. From here you can disable certain bands.

No they are used... And once Sprint turns them on in your area you will be mad they are disabled....
Band 25 - LTE on 1900MHz
Band 26 - LTE on 850MHz
Band 41 - LTE on 2.5GHz
What's weird here is that mine showed band 41 disabled.... Also the band priority menu option errors out with a bad validation...stating you can't change it with only one enabled while I have 2....odd
AKA bands for spark BS

Does anyone know how to modify the band priority? Mine doesn't seem to let me edit that.
This is AWESOME..
Band 25 sucks so bad out here, shut it off and rocking on Band 41 solely ... Amazing find, THANK YOU!
This is a good find, I cannot get the option to disable/enable bands. Are you guys using modded EPST file or different versions of the M8 (HK vs stock)?

follow the instructions in this thread.
You will need to be s-off and on a deodex'd stock ROM, viper and bad boy's both work with the EPST.apk in that thread.
I don't have LTE on main menu. Even using the EPST in the thread above didn't work. I'm on viper and LTE is enabled

Okay so I've seen this same possible problem with pretty much every 4g lte phone I've had to date now I'm sure it's more a less made this way but my question is when someone uses there cell data alot (I have the true unlimited data) on 4g lte let's say while watching YouTube videos have you ever had it switch to 4G after using it for a bit? This happens on all 4g lte phones I've had I'll be watching YouTube with 4g lte then after using data for awhile it switches to 4G here's where my question comes in, is there a way to force the phone to stick with Only 4g lte? Possible temporarily turn off the 4G an force my note 4 to only use its 4g lte connection? If you need more detail feel free to ask

One thing I must note is that you should make sure to have Volte enabled or you may have trouble getting calls through.
