Recently I moved all my downloaded apps to my SD card, and I noticed that when my phone starts those apps take awhile to load and my ringtone (which is located on the SD Card) always get changed to the default one. Is it everything alright?
The apps take time to load just because Android scans and prepares sd card to be used. Until it does its work you will get App Not Installed message. It's normal.
Hit thanks for help

So... when I open my camera or try to take any pictures i immediately am greeted with a message saying to insert an SD card to take pictures... under settings my SD card shows up fine, it lets me look through pictures on the SD card and all my apps run off of my SD card so i know it's not that, after rebooting i can get it to take one picture but anything after that it gives me the error message again. i'm running RC33 JF1.42, and haven't really made any recent changes to the phone, the most recent thing i did was load up one of the themes which worked fine for the past few days up until now. anyone else have this issue? the other thread i read in dream android development the guy just had to replace his SD card which i know is not my issue since everything else works fine on it =\

try to copy all your sd contents in pc and format the sd card (fat32 area NOT ext2)and just copy your files again. I had the same problem and solved it by doing that
addons: If u moved your cache to sd try to delete all those cache before you copy back to sd
Hello Everyone, I was hoping someone could tell me if there was a quick fix or if I need to do a reinstall & add something that I didn't add.
I noticed today, my phone telling me it is running low on space & when I checked, it said I only had 9 megs left on the phone memory, however it did show I still had 465 megs on the secondary sd memory free.
I decided to try & install an app to see if the sd memory would go down or the phone memory. Well, the phone memory went down, but not the sd secondary.
I'm looking at the storage & unmount sd card & format sd card are "grayed out"
I also do have a \system\apps folder with some apps, along with the same one under \sd card\system\apps which that also has some apps.
Is there something I can do that can fix this? Or something else I need to check?
The only thing that I didn't do originally was create a swap partition.
Thanks
i believe if u reboot your phone all apps get thrown into ext partition. also try using cachemate , that will free up tons of space on your phone

If you want to have your apps on your sd card then you need an ext partition. You cannot currently house your apps on your sdcard.
I apologize if this has been thoroughly discussed here, but I can't seem to find much in my own searches.
I don't know what happened but yesterday after i restarted my N1, most of my apps on SD Card couldn't seemed anymore! Apps are on the list, on the desktop and on the apps settings (without original icon). But my system doesn't connect apps on my sd card.
My sd card is working correctly, no problem is there. System is seeing sd card, can be mounted/unmounted.
I've tried to restart (ofcourse),
I've tried to launch different launcher,
I've tried to flash CM again.
But nothing works
How can i fix it without wiping? I would wipe but the backup app (mybackup pro) gives an error "Unable to open database file". So i don' wanna wipe without backing up.
Interestingly, some apps on SD works, but it says it can not see SD card. For example, Go SMS app can backup sms to sd card. But it can not see sd card.
Please help me...
Note: I'm using CM 7.0.2.1 (default kernel 2.6.37.4)
I had a similar problem recently...what fixed it for me running CHKDSK. Try mounting your sd card, right click on its properties, then go to tools and then error-checking. I checked off both options and ran it. That seems to have fixed my issue, I guess a file was corrupt. Good luck
edit-This is using windows
SD Card was corrupted.
Hi again,
I understand that my SD card was corrupted. I ran chkdsk and it couldn't be completed. It gave an error. I formatted with SDFormatter. No bad sectors or damaged. Finally i had to reinstall all apps again. Not wiped rom.
LT4 rom, philz kernel.
When I updated from stock ICS to stock JB, I always remove the ext SD card & SIM.
I didn't notice anything after the update until I went to use the camera, which complained about inserting an SD card.
switching it back to phone storage fixed that, but, I started checking. Root file explorer shows the card, but when you
access it, it shows NO files. When I connect it to the computer, the ext & int both show up, and when I access the ext,
all files are there. I can move programs from internal storage to external storage.
The only thing that seems to be amiss is the camera & phone file browsers.
Did a few searches, not really finding an answer. Tried unmounting, remounting, power off with the SD card, pull the SD card, reboot,
power off, reinsert SD card reboot, no luck. Tried mounting/unmounting in root file explorer.
Tried changing from media device to mass storage, still no luck.
Back up files, format within the phone and try it again??
TIA

When I stick the card into my computer, all the files show up. Perhaps Android places or formats in a different
way than Winx, and it does need to be formatted again. Funny thing though, it JUST does that with the camera.
I have most of my apps located on the ext SD card, they all work perfectly. I just use the phone to store, then transfer
them to the SD if I need to.
Thanks for responding.
I had a problem with external sd card.
Phone could not handle the card or format and the same in windows and ubuntu.
So it look the card is dead and I wanted t throw the card away.
But it was not dead in my case , I put the card in my digital camera and format the card.
Now my phone windows and ubunto see the card and can handle it as a new card.

My storage space is insufficient, almost reaching 62G, so I used an SD card and selected the merge storage option. After selecting, the system automatically transfers the APP to the merged SD card. The SD card stores 32G but the storage space of the phone is still about the same 62G, the phone still displays the message of insufficient space. When I open the SD card, it does show apps and photos, but when I open the APPS space, it shows NO app.
It feels that the system backs up some apps, photos, videos to the SD card instead of moving the files over.
Is this normal? What should I do to use the SD card properly?
Thank you

i recently found out with this device that it manages data so weird..
1st make a back up of your internal storage. and reset your phone with the mr3 from the site
2nd..after that finishes setup device. storage should be normal
3rd. move files from pc that you backedup and DONT COPY THE ANDROID FOLDER. THATS WHERE THE PROBLEM IS(If you dont play games or just re-download the apk feom play store.)
thats just my conclusion.
i dont use my sd card as interal.. i still don't trust that option. i dont want to lost all my files.. juat my cents
Thanks a lot, reset is a nightmare hahaha
