288gb Note 2 N7102 with an 9300 mAh battery - Galaxy Note II Accessories

Update:
My phone became a tank!
This is what I've created, using:
- http://linitx.com/viewproduct.php?prodid=11922
- http://www.lexar.com/products/lexar-professional-600x-sdxc-uhs-i-card
- ZeroLemon 9300 mAh battery.
The ZeroLemon case is perfect, it envelopes the phone perfectly with a gigantic SD card inside, everything fits.

The case is nice and soft, yet hardshell, allowing the card to fit inside.
There is a slight bulge on the back of the phone, where the SD card resides.
The phone is a power beast now. Best device ever!
The battery lasts forever.
Now my phone has 32+256 GB internal memory - one word: awesome, best device ever. The card works flawlessly with the adapter, no problems using it.
Best thing: dual SIM.
The is the best convergence device ever, and now a killer beast of a phone: 288gb, music, movies, everything - no limits!
Overclocked with Tegrak, I built the GNU C library, running full GNU tools on the phone, native compilation - a beast!

With the N7102, which I got through yoybuy.com from China, I got a plastic cover for the regular size phone. Came in handy, had to cut the back, since the battery protrudes and the cover had a tendency to fall of, but now it's perfect: the battery lifts the cover, making room for the micro SD adapter with the SD card.

I'd have a bash with a standard 128GB SD Card buy that 256GB card is a crazy price lol

Wow, that is a nice set up! But that card is ridiculously expensive. Could you share how you are going to use the memory? I was also going to suggest the 9300mah battery from zerolemon, but it does not look like it would work with the memory card.

Wait, you spent $1,000 to buy 256GB sd card? Wow!!! Plus, I can guarantee you 100% that 8500 mAh battery you got is only 6200 mAh or less, I have seen tests of similar batteries all showing less than double capacity of original (you can't physically fit more than double capacity of cells into that footprint). Please, don't get me wrong - I'm not bashing your post. You have an AWESOME setup and I never seen micro-sd to SD adapter - that's really awesome! But just saying that battery is not exactly what it says, and from all the posts about micro-sd/sd cards in this forum - I personally lost trust into anything beside Samsung brand of memory.

Does the card + adapter get in the way of the camera?
Impressive work for a do-it-yourself!

Yeah, I actually suspect it's 6200 mAh too ) You're right. After I bought it, I also got a 6200 one and they are the same size... I'm thinking of the 9300 ZeroLemon one now, if the SD card would fit into the case... Worst case, I could squash it into this case...

Music, movies, work data sync. My pictures, tons of recorded videos... I'm on a mission to build X natively on the phone, Latex too, need gigs and gigs of space for that... Now finally it's without problems, literally no limits.

It's really a great job! :good:
Too bad that SD card is too expensive or I would have done the same thing !
Maybe next year!

I think this is awesome simply because it was done. Good job.

I love seeing the creativity of you guys. I agree I dont have the money for the SD card but I sure like what you have done.

think im gonna try this with a 128GB card. Dealextreme has a card adapter for $5

It's worth it, go for it, you'll be a happy man. The adapter was the biggest question, but it works no probs.

They have got pressure from Apple so we can't get 32Gb until they release a 64Gb iPhone.

Seriously, they were announced in February last year !
They are arriving now in Hong Kong at Times Square. At least that is what one guy said, 'just released'. However, at this time still buy 16GB because it is SOOOO much cheaper. even class6 cards.
i bought a 16GB card. the 32GB are too expensive...or better overpriced!
the question is valid since HTC doenst say you can use them. the largest i heard htc said can be used is 8GB.... but thats baloney

dying to have the 32Gb micro sd card
I don't think we'll see a 32GB MicroSDHC card any time soon. It looks like the major manufacturers are going to concentrate on the new format SDXC (which can support up for 2TB) .
SDXC is the same design and shape as SD/SDHC but it needs specific support from devices, the Leo/HD2 doesn't, at least officially, support SDXC
However I have been looking and there is a way to convert a larger SD card into a MicroSD card ...yes you read that correctly. You can get a 32GB SD card now (and cheaper than a 32GB microSD if it shows up), then can get a converter from a few places such as APTOlink . I'm not sure this will fit under the Leo's battery cover, but if it will it's the best solution.

Thanks jagnet. I'm currently using a class 6 16GB Micro SD but I just ordered that DX adapter you linked to because I'm curious to see whether it has a low enough profile to fit into the HD2. It's very annoying waiting for 32GB MicroSD and it would be cool if we could get 32GB capacity now, but cheaper because its on the SD format, and still fit in the phone.

Anything may happen of course, but there's no reason why 32GB SDHC cards shouldn't work. 32GB is the maximum capacity for the SDHC format, and it doesn't require any new drivers, readers or whatever.

64 SDXC card compatible?

I think i've seen a few people with a 64GB SDXC microSD card. Does this work or not? I haven't seen any place that confirms what type of microSD cards work (normal, HC, XC) yet.
i don't want to waste the money on it if it doesn't actually work.

I was told by AT&T that i could use a 32gb microSD, as the max. Maybe a store like BestBuy would let you try it out first. Good luck.
I work at AT&T and everything says 32GB max and that's what I relay to my customers. I've used a 32GB HC card, I've thought of trying a 64GB card, but didn't want to waste the money on it if it ended up not working. I have to go to Best Buy tomorrow, so I'll ask if I can test one out.
Dont think it will work well for devices using the FAT32 format for their media. There are ways to read and possibly write to 64GB sd cards, but mostly involve formatting the card using you PC.
Havent held a 64GB sd card in my hands, but if it can work it would probably be the last sd card I ever own
No luck with Best Buy. They didn't let me try it out. But if what Omnimax is saying is true, there's no use buying one.
Yes it will work. When you first pop it in it will say that is corrupt, but after reformatting it within Android Storage settings you will have 64 GB's. I had one for my Inspire but I thought it wasn't worth it so I sold it on eBay and got a 32 GB microSD, a case, an extended battery, and a screen protector instead.

Current technology, from what I have read, support SDHC micro sd cards and the new 64 gb ultra micro sd cards use SDXC technology, which apparently are not supported by current phones on the market. I read it at http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/news/item/13284_SanDisk_64GB_microSD_for_sale-.php The article was from September 2011, but I think it is still accurate. Looks promising though, with transfer speeds of 30 mbps..

The best buy price of $79.99 is good though. I looked at numerous online stores including Amazon and eBay, and the average price is about $92..the price will obviously come down but it may be a mute point for people like me who want the HTC One X..that's the only bad thing about the One...no removable storage or battery..that's one of the reasons I trashed my iPhone and went with Android...much better!!

If HTC goes on that direction, then the Vivid might be my last device from them. No removable battery? If they get it right like Motorola did with the Razr maxx, I can live with that, but no sd support, bye bye.

Yeah, I feel the same way...I would love a new HTC phone but the 16 gb and battery are deal breakers for me...especially the memory...I download a lot of music through Rhapsody and the 16 is simply not enough...hopefully, the One X won't do so well and we shall see the return of removable battery and sd card...I've seen 64gb sd card at best buy...even though they won't work with current phones, they should on next generation phones this year which would make the One X less desirable..

64MB micro SD
http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/news/item/13284_SanDisk_64GB_microSD_for_sale-.php
I just read through the above link and through the coments of it, I'm going to buy one and try it, I'll post back here once I've confirmed it works apparently it just needs to be reformatted to fat32, and even if it doesn't work I'll find a use for it in the future
Alright!!! I now have a 64 GB sdxc card, and it works for my HTC Velocity 4g!!! Android formatted it, and it works like normal, writes at 10MB/s and reads at 33MB/s. So, it's not faster than my 16GB sdhc card (must be the specs of the phone, not the sd card restricting speed). Hope that helped anyone thinking of buying a sdxc card
Sent from my HTC Velocity 4G using xda premium
I wonder..............
How much this card is??
Micro SDXC flash memory cards are eXtended Capacity micro SD cards same features as SDXC cards - that is capacity up to 2TB (Terra Bytes) and data access speeds up to 300MB/s, but in the shape of the TransFlash / micro SD card that are usually used in mobile phones and other small electronic devices where even the small size of a regular SD card is to big. With an adapter microSDXC card can be used where miniSDXC or full sized SDXC cards are required as well as connected to PC via USB interface or for even faster read / write speeds connected to eSATA via eSATA SDXC connector that transforms any micro SD card into a low cost high performance thumb drive / flash drive.

SD card support

Does anyone know if the lack of SD support has been confirmed? Android One has a SD slot, so I'm hopeful that this will too. Either way I'm ordering one come friday to compliment my G3.
It won't have microSD support.
However, the phone does come in 32 and 64 gbs of storage.
I'm interested in this phone but the lack of microSD card support is kinda saddening. But I've been looking at USB OTG storage devices and also card readers. That'll kinda suck but oh well.
Working in IT, my concern about no sdcard was backups AMD redundancy of data but there are sufficient measures in place for this to no longer be an issue for me. I've taught myself that 16 GB isn't enough but 64 for me is. Games, a bit of offline music, couple of titanium backups and a nandroid. Foldersync will sort the rest out
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
64GB should be alright, but I like the SD card as a backup and because I can easily swap it from one device to another. Let's not forget that if it had one that's an extra 128GB of storage... I am doubtful that it will have one though because the N9 doesn't.
Why are people still surprised that a Nexus doesn't have sd card support? It's a Nexus, they don't have sd card slots. Exactly the same kind of comment will still be seen at the next Nexus release though...
I must be psychic!

On another note: 64 gb version would be just right for me. I have a few 64gb microsd cards now and my tendancy is to only store stuff

You need to go to the store and Price match with Amazon which is for $29.99... Then there was a coupon for staples on the website for 60% off all Sandisk dual USB drives... Apply that and it comes to like $12 each... Adding tax made it $26 for 2.
I'm not sure if the coupon is still there... Check the website. And this coupon is for use in store only.

Micro SD card UHS1 vs class 10

I currently have a Samsung branded 64gb micro sd uhs1 card in my note 4. I was thinking of upgrading my card so I got on eBay looking up prices for 128 gb cards since the note takes amazing video and those files are HUGE.
Well to my surprise 128 gb class 10 cards are super cheap, like under $20 cheap, while uhs1 class cards are closer to $100.
Is there a significant performance hit using a class 10 vs uhs1?
I downloaded "A1 SD Bench" from the play store, here's the results I got on my uhs1 64gb Samsung card.

If anyone is running a class 10 card, I'd love to see what your bench is using the same app. (Or suggest a different app)
Yes- I ordered a name brand 128 gb micro sd class 10 for $14 [emoji106] [emoji6]
I can't imagine it could possibly perform that bad? But I don't know, that's why I'm asking the question.
Thanks!

You should be getting much faster speeds from the sammy card.
If a 128GB SD card goes for $10 on ebay, then I would be very surprised if that card was legit. The web is rife with stories of knock off cards that are hacked up to look report as a larger capacity than they really are. As the old saying goes, "if it looks too good to be true, then it probably is. "

UHS1 and Class 10 have the same minimum sequential write speed, but Class 10 is compatible with the High Speed Bus while UHS uses the UHS Bus.
https://www.sdcard.org/developers/overview/bus_speed/
Basically, Class 10 cards have a theoretical maximum speed of 25MBps in either direction since that is the maximum bus speed. UHS cards can hit 50, 104, 156 or 312 depending on the bus version used. So if you switch to a Class 10 card you will see your read speed drop significantly (42 per your test results down to 25 at maximum).
My Samsung 64GB EVO card did 36.85MB/s read and 12.11MB/s write.

Will the phone take advantage of the UHS Speed Class 3 devices that claim up to 40MB/s write?
Is the note 4 UHS1 capable?

quote... "Galaxy Note 4 can achieve super fast speed for the SD cards on the mobile device – 61.40MB/s read, and 47.84MB/s write speed"

Wow, UHS3. Ok, that kind of explains the class 10 prices.
Now I'm upset my uhs1 card only got 8mb write [emoji35]
I had a Lexar 64gb class 10 and I was having problems with delay when waking up the screen. I took out the card and the phone was waking up instantly. I then exchanged it with 64gb Samsung Evo and the wake up lag was gone.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but how can a 128gb class 10 micro sd card not be worth $14! ?

Ok, so I bought a SanDisk Extreme Plus 64GB UHS-I/ U3 Micro SDXC and gave it a try.
73.98MB/s read, 41.96MB/s write
Note: Not as good as the "up to" 80 read, 50 write Amazon advertises.

Careful, if it ships from ebay or China at that price, it's fake. Even Amazon 3rd parties sell fakes.

I downloaded "A1 SD Bench" from the play store, here's the results I got on my uhs1 64gb Samsung card.

sounds like a fake, to know for sure, once you receive it, fill the card up with movies or whatever... the fake card will crash and you wont be able to use it anymore, it will never reach the 64gb capacity. that is what I do with every card I buy.
$14 please...

It shipped from U.S.A. (can't remember which state) ave I didn't get the "generic" for $12, I sprung for the A DATA branded for $14 [emoji6]
I've used the a data usb thumb drives, and never had issue. I'll check the card when it arrives.
Honestly, I'm fully expecting it to be real, 128 gb capacity, but I'm sure it won't be anything close to my Samsung UHS-1 64gb cards performance.
After the link above, and seeing the note 4 is capable of UHS-3, I'd love to find a good price on one of those, but it would have to be 128gb since I already have a 64gb.
Now the real question is while we all crave the ultimate performance, is that speed difference anything you'll feel in day to day use?

Do a couple of creative Google searches... Read the speed test results from credible testers. The new Samsung cards, rated at UHS1 are faster than most all claimed UHS3 cards.
Yeah, I'm sure that's true. I'm just wondering if the real world, day to day use benefits from the speed? Or is it just a benchmark thing?
Received the 128gb card today. Benchmark was pretty low.
I bought a Samsung 32GB EVO MicroSD from the official Samsung sellers page on Amazon.com

Highest Capacity SD Card?

What is the highest capacity high speed SD card that will work on the Note 4?
I guess use this thread also as a SD card check.

I just purchased a 128gb card about 3 weeks ago. It is a PNY brand and has worked great!
I have a 128 GB card on my Note 4 and just had another 128 delivered yesterday to replace the 64 gb in my Note 10.1 2014. With the price dropped to $39.99 last week on the sandisk, I couldn't pass it up. :highfive:

This was a deal leading up to Black Friday on Amazon. The price has since jumped back up to $89.93! Glad I jumped on it when I did. Here's a pic of the deal when it was in effect...

Yeah I got the 200 GB SD card and works perfectly, I've since switched it and put the 128 GB in my phone and the 200 GB card in my tablet.

HERE IS A 128 CLASS 10 FRO $50
http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-micro...433011_1_6?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1449678911&sr=1-6
That a pretty normal price now. I have this card it works great.
Sadly I'm stuck on an old 32GB SanDisk. Thinking about getting a 128GB for myself for XMas, though I missed a bunch of good sales on Black Friday. Anyone have recommendations on which MicroSD cards are fastest? I've heard around the net that these are fast (in no particular order):
Samsung EVO
Samsung EVO+
Sandisk Ultra
Sandisk Extreme

They have a 512 gb card available but I think the Note 4 can only go up to 128gb according to manufacturer specs.

If only 128gb were available when the note 4 came out then that is all they could test and certify it for. Doesn't mean it's not capable but it could not be tested and advertised.

512GB Micro SD? Really? I've yet to see anything over 200GB. The 512 must cost in the $500 range.
Edit: At present - no company has anything above a 200 GB MICRO sd. A company called Santin has a 256 GB MSD on Amazon but as suspected in test by those you purchased one, it's a fake - only 7GB!
