Lumia (610) keeps asking PUK code after providing wrong unlock codes - Windows Phone 8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Posting this not with a question but as a solution.
The phone was locked by the previous owner after punching the wrong unlock code in more than 10 times, and permanetly LOCKED by me after punching in the wrong puk after 20x wrong PUK code. (Vodafone-netherlands couldn't provide the PUK code of the phone. Not the Sim PUK code but the phones PUK code)
What I did was flashing the rom on the phone first to a demo rom released by nokia and then flash it back to the opfficial rom released by vodafone-netherlands. Afterwards I had 10 more attempts to punch in the the unlock code and could unlock the device.

sim unlocker question

i have a g4 and i ran lokiwiz 3a to get the sim unlock code.
i got an unlock code but it didn't work with a different sim card..
i flashed a new rom and ran lokiwiz again and got a new unlock code.
that one didn't work either.
finally i flashed it again and got a 3rd unlock code and it worked.
i thought unlock codes were phone specific so why do they change with different flashes.
if i flash it again, will i need to deal with unlock codes another time.

Unlock Code Passed

I just entered the unlock code I received from ATT and got the message unlock code passed. I take it that this means its unlocked? Is it a permanent unlock?

I believe that it is a permanent unlock - however - please read the WIKI and do not confuse UNLOCK with HARDSPL if you are going to FLASH ROMS.
Bill
what was the exact code or numbers you used to unlock the phone...because some of the #'s for unlock just unlock the service providers branded lock but the other codes unlock the phone period
if the code is from AT&T, then its for permanent sim unlock and you can use other sims. no more, no less
Yes the code is directly from ATT. I told them I'd be doing some international travel and wanted the option of putting in a european sim card while there.

[Q] I9000 unlock code from carrier work only on one sim??

Hi, I have bought an I9000 from France locked to Orange and was given the unlock code from the Orange. I unlocked the phone with my simcard and it unlocked. I tried to use another sim but it requests the unlock code and the one I have is not working. When I type *#7465625# with now sim in the phone everything is OFF Network Lock etc. I have also flashed a stock android 2.3.1 and debranded the phone.
It still works with my sim.
Is it possible to use with another sim or do I have to get another unlock code?
Thanks
Are you referring to SIM Unlock code or Network Unlock code?
SIM unlock code is independant to the SIM while on the other hand Network Unlock code is independant on the phone itself. It is based on IMEI of the device.
Yes the other sim had sim lock code and i did not know, that was the problem. Thanks.
You don't have to say thanks. Just hit the Thanks button if it helped.

does anyone have issues with unlock code from AT&T on cyanogen mod build 7?

I called AT&T to get an unlock code. I punch in the code using a foreign non AT&T sim card. Upon boot up, it asked for the unlock code.
I put in the code, twice, but it says it's not unlocking the phone. Not sure if it's AT&T code problem or my phone problem as the phone also have another issue where it's not answering phone call from one number as if it's blocked, but it's not

in some case you can contact your carrier and give them your imei # and the will give you the sim unlovk code. You can also buy an unlock code from ebay or other internet sites. Did you asked the persons who Jtag repaired your device if they can provide you this code?

SIM UNLOCK PIN seems to be a security code from the sim card, try with another SIM Card from same carrier. Apparently it has nothing to do with unlock code.

So I had SIM unlocked at&t htc one (I obtained unlock code from carrier). Once I unlocked it, i was using european simcard and then revone s-off came out. so I s-offed it successfully and after reboot i got exactly same problem - enter sim imsi unlock code or something like that. Any code would result in unlock successful and reboot phone, but it would ask code again. I ended up sending phone to HTC for repairs. I guess they completely reflashed firware or updated something else, since phone that i received back had different IMEI then what i send them (same physical device though - scratches on the side). I had to obtain new unlock code for new IMEI and new code unlocked it for european sim.
