Hi guys,
I'm back on ICS cause of battery drain and lucky again. Only thing I am missing is the improved LG stock Browser of JB cause the ICS LG stock browser is stuttering / lagging. Can you pls. provide me the apk of the JB LG stock Browser so that I can exchange old vs. new Version, that would be really great.
Thx and best regards
Stephan
Here the apk and the odex link to Jelly Bean browser from official V20a:

Firtst of all thanks for your work but damn, Parsing error. Either the file was corrupted during up-/download or the JB stock browser is not possible to install on ICS.
Do you mind to upload it again just to be sure no file corruption occured during the last attempt (I downloaded already three times but no difference).
What's the ODEX file for?
Regards
Stephan
Here I copy the Files now with ES Data Explorer.
The Odex will need to work normal.
I think you have not change the permission.
Make a Backup of the Old Data (apk+odex)
Remove the Old
Copy the new files
Set the permission (look at the other Apps there permission and set the same)
Install
Wipe in Stock Recovery or other Recovery Cache.

I am using rooted JVU firmware and would like to install ICS keyboard to my system/app.
I used Root Explorer to copy the apk file into the directory and did a reboot, and the keyboard appeared on my locale and text menu.
However, when I try to select the keyboard, it always return a force close.
Can anybody teach me on how to solve this issue?
There is a thread called "How to: Push apps(.apk)" - you will have to try to use the search function for that name cause I don't think I can post a link yet

You can also try an app called "system cleanup". I'm not sure if it's on the market but there is a thread where you can dl it or you could use titanium pro

Ics keyboard is made to work on android 4.0.x framework ported from Nexus S, ok?
As you revealed in OP you are using Sammy JVU 2.3.6 TouchWiz infected framework.
Why not try to rip out HTC keyboard and push that too while you're in the mood?
When you push an ask to system/app am I write in saying it does not deleted in factory reset..??
What about pushing to system system/media..??
When pushing an apk to system folder,u need root and there is 2 easy ways, either use a root explorer and just push it to the system/app folder or use titanium backup to revert to system app.factory reset(full wipe) doesn't wipe system apk,but everthing else is wiped..
U can also push apk to system via ADB.but a little bit of knowledge is needed

1) make sure u r on safe kernel
2) full wipe/factory reset
3) wipe cache/dalvik
4) format /system /data /preload (may not be necessary, but nothing wrong in doing)
5) flash ICS rom & then safe kernel..
Can u give a link for a safe kernel nd a ics rom.......also can u give an apk for s note and polaris office
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
If you on Jelly Bean Rocket Rom you should have philz kernel which is safe.
Dont you have the Rocket Rom downloaded?
extract the following APKs and push it into
QuickSnote_Q1.apk > data/app
Snote_Q1.apk >data/app
Snote_Q1_Provider.apk > system/app
SMemo_Q1.apk > system/app
SmemoProvider_Q1.apk >system/app

right click on the file you added, select permissions. and the permission should be 644. root explorer is an app. to know what is 644, just check the permissions of another file in that folder. reboot and check again
i guys, today i am using ICS 4.0.3(Claro BR) on my Note, the official firmware, rooted but never flashed any ROM(Don't wanna wipe) and this morning i was trying to install some modded SMS apps(I was really angry with automatic conversion to MMS on long texts). I used CWM and flashed an app without backing up the old one, the app doesn't work and i can't get the original back. Can someone please help me? (I am travelling and without acess to my computer at the moment)
I would be very grateful if someone with the stock ROM post their MMS.apk so i can try to i install it.
Sent from my GT-N7000
Unfortunately I don't have that saved...
You have a few options while on the road.
1. Download a third party MMS app from play store.
2. Reflash your ROM using mobile Odin
3. Download the 4.0.3 ROM. Extract the necessary file using root explorer. Place it in /system/app and set proper permissions.
Other things you can do too...but sounds like those would be easiest for you

I will get home next week and try to download the 4.0.3 firmware and extract with ES File Explorer, i only need to download the .zip(?) to my External SD and search for the apk on my Note, right?
Sorry guys, brought my first Android one month ago, still a noob getting used to the SO.

Maybe you want to heed the following advice: Always make a Nand backup before you alter system apps/ files. If you have a Nand backup you can always restore your rom like it was before you did the modifications.

Yeah in es, you can locate the /system/app folder in the tar file.
Locate the appropriate file.
Copy it to your /system/app.
Next step is crucial- set proper permissions. Just do it the same as all other other files.
If you have problems you can always dirty flash the ROM
NOTE TO YOU AS A NEW USER. KNOW THAT STOCK ICS 4.0 KERNELS ARE UNSAFE AND IF YOU DO A FACTORY RESET YOU MAY KILL YOUR NEW PHONE. Please read the stickies on brick bug and you can install philz kernel to avoid issues.
And like other guy said...do nandroid backups...
Please hit thanks to me and other guy if we helped.

Thanks guys, i have a friend that downloaded the firmware and uploaded the file to Dropbox for me, e everything is working perfectly for me.
And i am not thinking about changing my kernel at the moment, and the only ROM i think i will install is the official JB release.(Not the leaks)

you need to put the .apk in system/app mounting system (using root explorer e.g.) and setting the correct permissions in both apps and then reboot your device
sorry but it did not work
anybody?
Try deodexing the whole rom from which the keyboard came from and then copy the apk

Did you build a Custom Rom with a kitchen and installed this?
Or did you deodex only single apps from system and framework and push it onto a stock Rom?
Please tell us what you exactly did, maybe then it gets clear what you did (and what you wanted to do).
I used tools from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=633246 for deodex app
i only deodex system/app and system/framework.then I make .zip for flashable onto stock rom.
how to deodex app for galaxy note?
why setting app is missing?
could you guide me?
i come from optimus black/xperia v/optimus 4xhd user.
ps. I use stock rom of thailand
Use the kitchen for making a complete Rom. Not only some tools for deodexing some apk. Your approach won't work.

Easiest way is to cut all the apks from preload and paste to system/app then do you deodexing. Settings apk is located in preload on stock roms so thats why its missing for you. If you keep it in preload you need symlinks in system/app so that the system can find the apk
I already sy link all apk in preloaded
